Marks is the first posthumous artist to lead the list.
Renowned holiday-hit songwriter Johnny Marks debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Songwriters chart (dated Dec. 7), thanks to a pair of seasonal standards that re-enter the Billboard Hot 100.
Brenda Lee's 1958 holiday staple "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" re-enters the Hot 100 at No. 29, while Burl Ives' 1964 favorite "A Holly Jolly Christmas" returns at No. 48.
Notably, Marks is the only credited writer on both tracks, helping boost his position on Hot 100 Songwriters, as he does not need to share any chart credit (see full methodology, below).
Meanwhile, Marks is likely to forge a strong presence on Hot 100 Songwriters throughout the holiday season, as he's also the sole writer of other Yuletide classics, including Gene Autry's "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer," which reached the Hot 100's top 20 last season. (Marks also penned Ives' "Silver and Gold" and Chuck Berry's "Run Rudolph Run," among holiday songs.)
As Marks died in 1985 at age 75, he is the first artist to posthumously rule the Hot 100 Songwriters chart (which launched in June).
Lee's "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" was solely produced by Owen Bradley, sparking him to a No. 8 debut on the Hot 100 Producers chart. Similar to Mark's forte, Bradley was an accomplished holiday producer, as he also produced Bobby Helms' "Jingle Bell Rock," which re-enters the Hot 100 at No. 47, along with country hits by Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty, among others. Bradley died in 1998 at 82.
Ives' "A Holly Jolly Christmas" was produced by Milt Gabler, who also produced records for the likes of The Andrews Sisters, Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Jr. and Billie Holiday. Gabler launched Commodore Records in 1938, a now-defunct jazz label that famously released Holiday's revered song "Strange Fruit." Gabler died in 2001 at age 90.
Marks dethrones Finneas and Billie Eilish, who tie at No. 3 on Hot 100 Songwriters on the strength of the latter's "Bad Guy" (No. 14 on the Hot 100), "Everything I Wanted" (No. 26) and "All the Good Girls Go to Hell" (No. 76),each of which the duo co-wrote.
The weekly Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot 100; plus, genre-based songwriter and producer charts follow the same methodology based on corresponding "Hot"-named genre charts. As with Billboard's yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
The full Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers charts, in addition to the full genre rankings, can be found on Billboard.com/biz.

Two weeks after 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' made its yearly return to both lists, five other holiday songs reach the charts, led by Brenda Lee’s 'Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.'
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is no longer the only holiday tune on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart, as multiple classic tracks re-enter the list dated Dec. 7.
Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” leads the way, bowing at No. 23 with 20. 5 million streams in the tracking week ending Nov. 28, up 90%, according to Nielsen Music.
For comparison’s sake, Lee’s Christmas standard debuted on Streaming Songs at around the same time in 2018, starting at No. 16 on the Dec. 8, 2018, tally. It eventually rose to No. 3 (Jan. 5).
Four other titles make the latest Streaming Songs survey, albeit in the lower reaches of the tally. Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” paces the secondary group (No. 44, 12.6 million streams), followed by Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas” (No. 46, 13.5 million streams), Andy Williams’ “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” (No. 47, 12.9 million streams) and Wham!’s “Last Christmas” (No. 49, 12.7 million streams). It’s perhaps important to note that the reason for Helms’ stronger debut despite a smaller overall stream count is due to the song having a larger share of paid vs. ad-supported or programmed streams than the others.
Also looming below the list: Dean Martin’s “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow” (10.8 million streams).
Concurrently, each of the songs that debut on Streaming Songs also return to the Billboard Hot 100, where older (or in this case classic holiday songs) are allowed to re-enter if in the top half in points and with a meaningful reason for their return. “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” again scores the highest re-entry of the bunch (No. 29), followed by “Last Christmas” (No. 46), “Jingle Bell Rock” (No. 47), “A Holly Jolly Christmas” (No. 48) and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year (No. 49).
Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” meanwhile, continues to scale both lists. It’s the greatest gainer in airplay on the Hot 100, blasting 31-18 (it also reached the chart’s top 20 around this time last year, jumping 29-14 on the Dec. 8, 2018, ranking), as well as the greatest gainer in streaming on Streaming Songs (22-11, 23.7 million streams, up 35%).

At No. 33, it’s the highest debut ever on the Billboard Hot 100 for an all-Spanish-language song by an act with no accompanying artists.
Bad Bunny’s “Vete” (which translates to “Leave”) takes the Digital and Streaming honors on the current Hot Latin Songs chart (dated Dec. 7) as the song blasts from No. 33 to No. 1 after its first full tracking week.
The track is Bad Bunny's fourth No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, and he replaces himself atop the list. He bumps his own collaboration with J Balvin, "La Cancion," down to No. 2 after one week at No. 1.
Bad Bunny’s standalone single, which was released Nov. 22, rockets up the chart mainly on the strength of streaming activity. “Vete” registered 18.4 million U.S. streams (up 741%) in the week ending Nov. 28, according to Nielsen Music, which grants the Puerto Rican a No. 18 debut on the overall Streaming Songs chart and a No. 1 start on the Latin Streaming Songs chart.
Highest Hot 100 Debut for a Spanish-language Song by an Act With No Accompanying Artists: In addition to its Hot Latin Songs coronation, “Vete” arrives at No. 33 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart. Bad Bunny celebrates a new milestone as “Vete” becomes the highest debut ever for a Spanish-language song without the assistance of any artist since the tally’s inception in 1958. For example, Bad Bunny's own all-Spanish track "MIA," featuring Drake, is performed completely in Spanish, but its debut was certainly boosted by Drake's featured role on the track (it bowed at No. 5 on the Hot 100.)
Highest Hot 100 Latin Debut In Over a Year: “Vete” also becomes the highest Latin song to debut on Hot 100 in over a year. Who earned it before? Well, Bad Bunny takes the honors again as “MIA,” featuring Drake, opened at No. 5 on the Oct. 27, 2018-dated tally. Since then, 18 Latin songs have debuted on the tally and all below the top 50 rank. Out of those, only four titles where by Latin acts unaccompanied by any other artist: Ozuna’s “Amor Genuino” (No. 92, June 22), Maluma’s “HP” (No. 96, June 8), Aventura’s “Inmortal” (No. 95, April 20) and Bad Bunny’s “Solo De Mi” (No. 93, Jan. 12.)
“Vete” also makes improvement on other Latin charts: It jumps 7-1 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart.
Further, “Vete”’s digital song downloads numbered 4,000 in its first full tracking week, granting it a No. 38 debut on the overall Digital Song Sales chart.
In addition to “Vete” Bad Bunny continues his top 10 presence on Hot Latin Songs with three other songs: “La Canción” with J Balvin at No. 2, “Callaita” with Tainy at No. 7 and “No Me Conoce” with Jhay Cortez and J Balvin at No. 9.

"Into the Unknown" is #5 on Digital Sales with only 9,000.
Crazy how just 5-7 years ago, we used to be seeing #1 in digital sales constantly do 300k+ and plenty of times the entire top 10 did 100k+. It seems forever ago, but in reality that is colossal change in a short period.

There's another chart where Drake Bell can find success then. This chart does look pretty terrifying though. Let It Go still in the top 10 after 213 weeks. What a nightmare. A sample of some of his lyrics shows that wouldn't work. "You're creeping out of bed I sneak a peek to see just what you were wearing last night or what was leftover from ripping off your clothes, I check to see that door was closed, as you were turning out the lights." "I'm not trying to make you feel bad, but baby I just can't live with all your bitchcraft." "Smoke it all 'fore it dries up, Pass the bowl I'ma light up." "Walk up to the plane, land in Tokyo, sex in Spain where we take it slow, pop champagne wherever we go". And that first one was from 2006, when he was on Drake & Josh still.

Papa Roach's 'Come Around' Crowns Mainstream Rock Songs Chart 12/4/2019 by Kevin Rutherfordwww.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/8545379/come-around-papa-roach-no-1-mainstream-rock-songsThe track is the band's fifth leader, all since 2009. After reaching the top five on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart with each of the previous two singles from its latest album, Who Do You Trust?, the third time is the charm for Papa Roach, whose "Come Around" rises 2-1 on the Dec. 7-dated tally. "Come Around" is Papa Roach's fifth Mainstream Rock Songs leader and its first since "Born for Greatness," which reigned for three weeks in February 2018. Its first, "Lifeline," ruled for six weeks beginning in April 2009, nearly a decade into the band's history on the chart. Who Do You Trust?'s preceding singles, its title track and "Elevate," rose to Nos. 3 and 4 in February and June, respectively. The album, Papa Roach's 10th, debuted at No. 11 on the Hard Rock Albums chart dated Feb. 2 and has earned 55,000 album units to date, according to Nielsen Music. "Come Around" concurrently bullets at its No. 14 high on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay survey, with 4 million audience impressions, up 5%.

Drake logs his 206th Hot 100 hit as featured on PartyNextDoor's "Loyal."
Drake is now one song away from tying the all-time record for the most career entries on the Billboard Hot 100, as he tallies his 206th on the latest chart (dated Dec. 7).
PartyNextDoor's "Loyal," featuring Drake, debuts at No. 63 with 11.7 million U.S. streams and 3,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen Music.
The Glee Cast currently holds the all-time record for most career Hot 100 entries, with 207. Here's an updated look at the chart's leaderboard, dating to its Aug. 4, 1958, inception (notably, after Elvis Presley had begun scoring some of his biggest hits starting in 1956):
Hot 100 Entries, Artist 207, Glee Cast 206, Drake 163, Lil Wayne 109, Elvis Presley 107, Kanye West 106, Nicki Minaj 100, Jay-Z 98, Chris Brown 95, Taylor Swift 91, James Brown
Pending any reboots of the show, the Glee Cast's total is likely to stand at 207, as the Fox TV series went off the air in 2015. All the troupe's titles charted between 2009 and 2013.
Drake earned his first Hot 100 appearance on May 23, 2009 (two weeks before the Glee Cast first bowed), with "Best I Ever Had," which peaked at No. 2 two months later. Of Drake's 206 entries, 35 have reached the top 10, the second-most after Madonna (38), and six have hit No. 1: as featured on Rihanna's "What's My Name?" (2010) and "Work" (2016) and with his own "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla (2016), "God's Plan," "Nice for What" and "In My Feelings" (all in 2018).
"Loyal" is Drake's 17th Hot 100 entry in 2019 alone, tying Ariana Grande for the fourth-most, after DaBaby (21), Post Malone (20) and Taylor Swift (18).

The fact he doesn’t even need a EP, album or anything else and just 2 simple songs to beat that right now

Ugh. Comparing artists with feature credits and the Glee cast to solo artists who pretty much only charted solo hits is just so annoying to me...

Not on Billboard but here's this KID DIGITAL SONG SALES There's another chart where Drake Bell can find success then. This chart does look pretty terrifying though. Let It Go still in the top 10 after 213 weeks. What a nightmare. Highly doubt Drake Bell has charted here since the theme song to iCarly. His music isn't aimed towards kids. And he won't chart simply because he's famously from a kids show. Otherwise Selena Gomez would also be there. "Let it Go" is also high because of the second film being released.

When does the "radio freeze" start? Already started for AC. The #1 there is already down roughly 33% from the norm as Christmas songs invade it. The other formats really won't see much for another 2.5 weeks. Christmas Eve and Day will show a lot of songs either losing or barely moving at all. After that, older songs will see significant increases due to year end playlists and AC returning to normal. Then a week after New Year's we'll see significant increases to current hits as the year end playlists drop out of the 7-day rolling period.

When does the "radio freeze" start? In Late December/Early January, generally speaking. By mid-January, radio spins; bullets; listener impressions are back to normal for regular (current) songs. There are many hit songs that survive the “freeze” anyhow and still continue to soar throughout the winter period: Adele’s “Hello”, Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable”, Alicia Keys’ “No One”, Rihanna’s “We Found Love” etc.

I'd be curious to see how Kids Bop would handle these lyrics. Bitchcraft doesn't sound like a bad word to add to one's vocabulary, though, at any age.

Highly doubt Drake Bell has charted here since the theme song to iCarly. His music isn't aimed towards kids. And he won't chart simply because he's famously from a kids show. Otherwise Selena Gomez would also be there. "Let it Go" is also high because of the second film being released. "Leave It All to Me" didn't chart there, either. It wasn't counted as a kids song. Oddly, neither was "Makes Me Happy". Despite getting airplay from Radio Disney, and peaking at #3 on the Bubbling Under. Drake Bell has charted on the: Hot 100, Billboard 200, Bubbling Under Hot 100, Top Rock Albums, Digital Song Sales, Independent Albums, but not anything kid-related. But yeah, even when he was back on Drake & Josh, his music, while it could commonly be appealing to kids, he wasn't really going for that a lot of the time.
