But didn't his latest single as a lead artist only reach #75? It seems like he's relying on features to get hits, and only a few of his features have become hits this year. Drake? His latest single as a lead was Money in the Grave which reached #7 with no video or major promotion Behind Barz was released after MITG. Btw, MITG did have a video.

When Rihanna was releasing an album every year from 2005-2012, and released a single every year from 2005-2017, people were B*TCHING. Now that she’s away from music, they’re begging and pleading for her to release again.
It’s the same case with Drake.
I don’t even know why we’re paying any attention to such posts/comments considering Drake isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Who cares about quality over quantity? When you’re getting HITS, and if it were me, I’d be releasing 20 singles per year whether they’ve solo songs or collabs.

He's had more top 10s with features this year than he has as a lead. That's a fact. Anytime Drake isn't in the middle of an album cycle, he is mostly charting off features. That applies for basically any rapper... You also keep trying to push Behind Barz, a freestyle that isn't even radio-tailored and has been out since June 2018, as some type of expected hit single even though you were already called out and looked foolish for doing so in the past. I'm not sure why you keep trying, but eh.

I gotta second that yawn. Quality over quantity is something Drake doesn't understand. And how many chances are they giving PND? I don't think he's gonna happen. Views and More Life are quality projects and if you trim Scorpion by like 5-6 songs, it's a quality project, too. People keep saying he should take a break, but he somehow manages to get bigger every album era so people clearly aren't tired of listening to him. Also, there's nothing wrong with an artist who loves to release music frequently. No one HAS TO listen to it, but they keep listening. Rihanna released an album every year from 2005-2012. Nothing Drake is doing is new. I know I don't have to listen, which is why I have only given a handful of his recent tracks a spin. Nothing this year really moved the needle for me. Hence the yawn. He used to be a fave of mine. Much like Nicki, every subpar release he does takes out more exciment from the next one.

Drake and Beyonce are apparently very delicate names here on the pulse.
Mental Note: Never say anything negative about them.

The songs he dropped this year as a lead artist were all loosies, lol. Songs not tailored for radio. That's something Drake does in every off year. Care Package was basically a compilation of loosies he dropped from 2011-2016. The only difference now is that streaming is a thing and he's such a huge star that people expect every single song he drops to debut at #1 and break every streaming record on the planet. Drake is the bigger artist on damn near every feature he does. His features do as well as they do because of his star power, so you saying he's relying on his features for hits is false.

Someone says something remotely not pro-Drake and great divine is in full defense mode, meanwhile is constantly on the attack toward most other artists. Take a damn seat TGD

Y'all expect way too much from people. Artists don't need to constantly be breaking chart records. I think that with more records being broken (ex. weeks in top 10, weeks at #1, #1 debuts, etc.) y'all are expecting more than what's viable. Calm tf down.

Many chart discussions aren’t even interesting/entertaining because people are so fixated on records being broken a mere 12 hours after a single has even been released. I honestly miss the pre-Digital era (especially prior to the 2010’s) when songs would actually take the time to ‘climb’ the charts organically before gradually burning out. In the age of Twitter and ‘Stan-based blogs’, debuting at #3 is a ‘FLOP’ these days and Streaming has made it even worst. I honestly don’t know how a large portion of millennial chart watchers would have fared in the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s. M.J, Prince, Madonna, Whitney.H, Mariah.C, Janet.J, TLC, Toni.B, Celine.D etc. probably wouldn’t even have careers.

So does the rule that says not to post twice in a row just not exist anymore or?

Isn't the streaming too weak though? No spotify, no youtube Not when you combine all of the versions of the song.

The new Summer Walker single is pretty good. I wonder if/where it debuts. Also, could any of the songs off the new Coldplay album potentially debut on the Hot 100?

What's wrong with defending drake, seems like everyone hates him here but kisses up to post Malone, who's imo even more overexposed on the chart then drake

Not to mention that loosie compilation did 109k first week. Songs that had been available on YouTube for 3-8 years.

I guess the American Music Awards could have a significant impact on the songs being performed and awarded. I can see a one or a couple of songs re-entering the top 10 of the Hot 100. Probably a decent one week shakeup. I can see boosts for some Taylor songs if she does her medley really well. Also, Take What You Want is being performed by Post Malone and Ozzy and Travis Scott, which means it'll probably get some real push soon and may get a Panini esque boost

Is 'Into the Unknown' the big single in the movie? I haven't seen it yet nor heard any of the songs outside of the movie so i have know idea.
BTB: still salty How Far I'll Go didn't get big enough to land on the 2017 year-end list, though I have Moana bias for this one (Moana > Frozen)
