"I Wouldn't Be a Man" is a perfect match for Josh's voice and style, but I've always been partial to the original by Don Williams as well as Billy Dean's version which he released in 1996.

Finally caught up to the reveals! Overall not doing too badly, a lot of the songs I lost in my top 30 were expected. Billy Currington's "Let Me Down Easy" was one I thought would make at least the top 40. But my biggest surprise was how dirty everybody did Joe Nichols' "The Shape I'm In"!! I knew it had no shot at top 20 or anything but I was expecting top 50 minimum! It's no joke my favorite single of his so this was a wake up call should we ever do a rankdown for him. :(
Also the Brad Paisley singles here are among the worst in his discography, I'm sad only "This Is Country Music" is gone, they should all be gone by now.

#47. Gary Allan - "Kiss Me When I'm Down"
Total Points: 1,333 Average: 57.9 Year Released: September 27th, 2010 Mediabase Peak: #38 Billboard Peak: #38
Rankings:
Following:
"Kiss Me When I'm Down" was released as the third and final single off Gary Allan's Get Off On the Pain album in September of 2010. It peaked at ##8 in February of 2011. The song was written by Josh Kear, Chris Tompkins and the late Andrew Dorff. I like "Kiss Me When I'm Down" (as with every Gary Allan song) but it's not among my favorites from him. It's not the song I would've picked for the final single off the record -- that would have gone to "We Fly By Night" -- which is one of the best songs Gary never released as a single. This is the first song of the rankdown with zero 100 rankings.

#43. Brad Paisley (feat. Alabama) - "Old Alabama"
Total Points: 1,281 Average: 55.6 Year Released: March 14th, 2011 Mediabase Peak: #1 Billboard Peak: #1 Rankings:fearlessarrow - 7 tim - 8 kw9461 - 11 gardyfan - 16 recordyear - 16 George Strait Junkie - 22 austin - 33 sabre14 - 33 fireflies - 45 castleoblivion26 - 46 Cody Wants Out... - 54 LBTrocks - 58 .indulgecountry - 59 ClevelandRox - 66 d3vin44 - 66 Troublemaker - 66 someguy - 68 bboat11 - 69 raylatch98 - 86 taylor - 107 Kanenrá:ke - 113 toomuchboy - 115 bigfan101 - 117 Following: BB🌕dgarcia3377lady𝓐fan"Old Alabama" was released as the second single off Brad Paisley's This Is Country Music album in March of 2011. The song raced to #1 in 12 weeks -- while the album's next single, "Remind Me," climbed to the top 40 while "Old Alabama" was at #1. The song samples Alabama's discography and features them on vocals. It was written by Brad, Chris DuBois, Dave Turnbull and Randy Owen. The music video features NASCAR's Jeff Gordon, Darrell Waltrip, Rick Hendricks and Kelley Earnhardt Miller.
This isn't among my very favorites from Brad but I always found it very enjoyable. 2011 was pretty much the last year that Brad was a dominant force on country radio and the chart climbs of the first three singles off this album showed it. It's easy to forget how big he was from 2005-2011.

"Mary Was The Marrying Kind" is by far my favorite Kip Moore song and one of my Top 30 songs of all time (I do not have a list but I know this song would for sure be on it, I am always a sucker for "love's that got away" type of songs but the opening verses describing his ex lovers in quick but precise detail and I love the pain that is in his vocals.

Turns out Kacey did the Mary/Marry homophones even better a few years later...
After listening to Brandy Clark's version of Crazy Women so many times (which is one of my favorite songs from 12 Stories btw), I expect LeAnn Rimes' version to be weaker. Fortunately it isn't that weak even though the more vibrant harmonica is swapped by fiddle, and it is one of most enjoyable songs in this rankdown.

Can I please be tagged? Pleasantly surprised at all three of Taylor's songs surviving! To be fair I think these are 3 of her most well regarded country singles. Good set of songs I guess for me. I love "Kiss Me When I'm Down" but I also would've sent out "We Fly By Night". "Crazy Women" is so fun, I'd have loved to see it do better on the charts but that goes for most of LeAnn's late career singles. "Where Country Grows" is her weakest single but I still love it, her voice was so refreshingly twangy I was hoping her and Sunny Sweeney would both be consistent presences for the decade but it wasn't meant to be :( "This" is a middle of the road song for me but I do like it, such a boring title though haha "Mary Was The Marrying Kind" was a really great introduction to Kip that he rarely lives up to. His material is usually good but not as good as this debut. "Old Alabama" has always been bad to me, I really disliked it from the moment it came out. Only the title track of the album was worse. and finally "That's Important To Me", this song is fantastic. Joey had a phenomenal voice and this is such a beautiful simple country song that I relate to very much. This is more or less perfect to me.

Very sad to see the songs from Joey + Rory and Ashton Shepherd done so dirty. Granted they still made the top half, but both of those songs still deserved much better.

Just wanted to add my praise for "Mary Was the Marrying Kind." I totally did not expect to like a song by Kip Moore that much.

Absolutely love "Someone Else Calling You Baby" and while I didn't think it would make it to the Top 10, I wish it would've still made it to the Top 20. Happy it made it this far tho.

It reached #1 by June. The song spent a couple weeks at #1 and was certified 3x platinum, making it one of Blake's biggest radio hits. It's also among the most-played gold titles in his discography. It was written by Rhett Akins and Ben Hayslip.
If I hear this song one more time...it's fine, it's not bad, but holy moly I've heard this one on the radio 50,000 times. I'm so damn sick of it lol. If the song was fantastic (in my view), I wouldn't mind, but I don't view it as anything revolutionary, so I've grown to dislike it. If it comes on at work, I turn the studio monitor off lol.

Blake was starting to get pretty hit or miss, but I've always loved the melody of "Honey Bee". Overplayed to be sure, but so much better then most of what has followed for Blake.

"The Reason Why" is a solid song that I just never understood as a single choice. Now that album remains my least favorite of Little Big Towns and I don't know what I would've picked but this wouldn't have been it.
"Tattoos On This Town" is one of Jason's best, not that that's saying all that much but it's a good song that I'd probably love more if the production was a little more interesting.
"I Got You" huh 3 songs in a row I'd call solid. This one was a nice safe follow up to their big breakthrough and while I'd have personally gone with "Getaway Car" this was good to keep their success going.
"Someone Else Calling You Baby" wasn't a song I hated right away but it burned on me so fast and I still don't care to hear it.
"Honey Bee" I've always wanted to like this more than I do. Blake at this point had already started recording songs I didn't care for which was still a crying shame after his first few years were filled with such great music.

"Honey Bee" is a catchy song, but I agree that my rating was impacted a bit by overplay. I didn't tank it because it is still a catchy and enjoyable song, but right in the middle of the list was about as high as I was willing to put it...
"Someone Else Calling You Baby" is one of Luke's best songs. Or should I say, it's one of the five songs of his entire career that are worth listening to.... This is a good time for it to leave.
Same thing for "Tattoos On This Town"!!
