This song is cheesy, boring and it did not help that his fans were very rude to Lauren Alaina fans online at the time since this was fresh off him winning American Idol which makes this song have negative nostalgia points for me.

Never cared much for "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" It's not something I listen to, but can be decently fun in a bar setting lol. It's got a good beat.
"Why Wait For Summer" is better than most of Walker Hayes's music, but I still didn't care for it at all. Just not a fan of him.
"I Love You This Big" is sooooo awful. I'm not a fan of Scotty McCreery in general, and that one is just so corny and trite.

Scotty's voice is SOOO good! This song is still in my top half of all American Idol winning songs. I'm glad he's made a great career for himself.

In a rare occurrence, he actually left the label in January of 2011 while the single was climbing. N2U/CO5 picked "Old School" up and got it to #41 on Mediabase by March.
I've heard through the grapevine (so it isn't fact, necessarily) that Chuck was never the easiest guy to work with. A co-worker of mine, who's been in radio for years, hates Wicks lol. Perhaps there was more to him leaving RCA a month after a single's release than there seems. Chuck would join Cumulus as a co-host of their syndicated morning show.
I never liked anything he put out after his debut record. "Old School" isn't really bad, just does absolutely nothing for me. "Us Again" was pretty good from 2014, but by then he was blackballed by most stations after the affiliation with Cumulus.

"Ferris Wheel" is so catchy. Nothing groundbreaking, but definitely enjoyable.
Chuck Wicks does absolutely nothing for me and "Old School" is no different.

Still terrible, still don't think the lead singer can sing well at all, and this song feels like a female view of a bro country song. Glad this song flopped.
Also I am forever sad this was talking about the shotgun as in a car seat and not a shotgun because maybe it would be a bit more interesting.

Shameful. The JaneDear Girls were wonderful, and their whole album was fantastic. "Shotgun Girl" is killer. I suppose "Wildflower" is out any time now as well -_- .indulgecountry we tried!

As for Luke Bryan the artist is concerned, well, he’s going down as one of the most overrated country stars of all time.Welp; I guess I can't count on you to join the Luke Bryan singles rankdown I have planned down the rankdown road! I wouldn't miss it for the world! While I do consider him to be overrated that doesn't translate over into outright disliking all of his material. I just happen to think he lacks depth as an artist and he benefited quite a bit during a time when country radio was broing it out. Either way, I always look forward to revisiting an artists discography so don't forget to tag me when you launch it lol.

They were so good! "Shotgun Girl" is easily my favorite of their three singles, too. So, so catchy. I think if these girls had come out a year or two later they would've been a bit bigger than they were. They were just a little ahead of their time, and I think they would've fit in a little better on country radio in say 2013 than 2011.

It was my 108! I thought "Wildflower" was pretty good but the other two of their songs in this rankdown were subpar.

#105. JT Hodges - "Hunt You Down"
Total Points: 1,907 Average: 82.9 Year Released: June 6th, 2011 Mediabase Peak: #39 Billboard Peak: #39 Rankings:castleoblivion26 - 17 austin - 23 Kanenrá:ke - 34 kw9461 - 38 sabre14 - 40 recordyear - 48 gardyfan - 50 Troublemaker - 55 bigfan101 - 71 LBTrocks - 84 raylatch98 - 97 .indulgecountry - 101 toomuchboy - 104 Cody Wants Out... - 109 George Strait Junkie - 110 ClevelandRox - 111 bboat11 - 113 d3vin44 - 113 fireflies - 113 someguy - 116 tim - 116 taylor - 119 fearlessarrow - 125 Following: BB🌕 dgarcia3377 "Hunt You Down" was released as the debut single for JT Hodges in June of 2011. It peaked at #39 in October. Hodges wrote it with Mark Collie and Rivers Rutherford. The song was off his self-titled, debut album.
JT would chart three more times off Show Dog Nashville before leaving the label at the end of 2014.
I loved JT's music -- he was unique and gave radio something that wasn't out there at the time. I truly believe that being on Show Dog-Universal was his demise. The promo staff just couldn't get past that top 40 barrier with the first two singles and the label by 2011 was already on borrowed time at radio. I wish he would've been on a corporate label.
I think his singles on Show Dog got better too -- I like "Hunt You Down" but "Goodbyes Made You Mine" and "Sleepy Little Town" were even better.

Goodbyes Made You Mine would've been a hit if he were on a better label. I like this one too, although the unconventional structure might've been an uphill climb at radio regardless.

I actually aaaaaaalmost liked "One More Drinking Song"! Which is more than I can say for most of Jerrod's career. But this is a great time for it to leave.

Not surprised to see this one get tanked, but there are a looooot of unmemorable flop songs still in that could have easily deserved to leave before this.... This song is not thematically everyone's cup of tea, but I don't consider it to be over-the-top or actively bad.

It still amazes me that Brantley Gilbert has never been able to get into A-list status with radio and is instead marathon chart climb since like 2015. Especially since "Bottoms Up" was huge, and yet afterwards he has never had the same success and all of his singles either struggled ("Stone Cold Sober", "The Ones That Like Me") or are pretty much non significant hits ("The Weekend", "What Happens In A Small Town"). Ever since "Small Town Throwdown" shockingly yet deservingly stalled out in the Top 10 it seems like Brantley Gilbert has never re-captured the momentum "Bottoms Up" gave him.

Oh wow, I thought "Country Must Be Country Wide" would get a bit further based on its big hit status alone!! Like, maybe into the 70s or 80s. It's not a great song, but it's not bad!
