~ Watkins Family Hour, the acclaimed musical collective featuring Grammy Award-winning siblings Sara and Sean Watkins (also 2/3 of the band Nickel Creek) announced their upcoming new album, brother sister, which is due April 10 via Family Hour Records/Thirty Tigers. Of the project, Sara shares, “It felt really good to dig into the potential of two people…the primary goal of this record became to see what we could do when it is just the two of us. The arrangements and the writing were all focused on that. Listening now, I’m really proud of what we did. These are songs that would not have come out of either one of us individually and it feels like a band sound, like this is what we do, the two of us.”
~ Sarah Jarosz announced that she will be releasing her 5th solo album, World On The Ground, on June 5th. Says, Jarosz on the project, "World On The Ground captures the music that producer John Leventhal and I created in the control room of his home studio in Manhattan throughout the second half of 2019. Many of the performances that made it onto the album were often demos that neither of us thought would be the final takes. From the beginning of this recording process, John challenged me to be more detailed in my writing — to create lyrics that told a story. A wealth of ideas opened up from the moment we began working together, and so many of the images that emerged during the writing process were based on my memories of the landscape, the people, and my experiences growing up in the Texas Hill Country."
~ Gwen Sebastian will be releasing the album sequel of sorts to her 2017 project with an April 24th release of Once Upon A Time In The West: Act II on Flying Island Records.
~ And last, but certainly not least, Lennon Stella has a new project coming out called Three. Two. One. out on April 24th as well. It is the debut album from the Nashville-based singer, songwriter, actress, and multi-instrumentalist. Stella first rose to popularity when she was just 12 years old as part of the duo Lennon & Maisy, alongside her younger sister. The pair gained national attention with a cover of Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend". Lennon then went on to star in the ABC/CMT smash television series Nashville as Maddie Conrad for six years.

I read somewhere that Tim McGraw has changed labels and was wondering if we can expect new music from him soon?
Thanks!

I read somewhere that Tim McGraw has changed labels and was wondering if we can expect new music from him soon? Thanks! He has. It was announced last month that he'd left Sony and went back to Big Machine where he was from 2012-2016. Last I heard, he has an album done, but I haven't heard any news about when its coming out, and since its first two singles underperformed and he switched labels, it probably won't be until later this year, because he'll need to launch a new single and get that up the charts first.

I wonder what's going on with tickets still. Never went on sale for several of the shows and St. Paul isn't even listed on ticketmaster or the venue website over two months after the announcement.

Any news on Garth's new album Fun? He has to be the most secretive artist about his album releases.

I absolutely love that Mark Chesnutt continues to put out new music, at least every 2-3 years or so, whether it's a single or an album.

The Luke Bryan album is pushed back to August 7th. Him delaying the release of this album is totally undermining the purpose of him recording a shorter record this time around. By the time its out, he'll be probably be ready to release single #4.

Tragic. I'm also not surprised given that this is becoming common and for the albums that have been dropping anyway have yielded mixed results, so I can see why they'd be inclined to delay the release. It sucks though after waiting this long and have it be so close. :(

I’m actually not surprised (but quite disappointed) to see the Dixie Chicks album release date postponed because I’m pretty sure they had an entire tour planned around it...which of course is all up in the air right now. At this point it’s way too early to even try and guess what this fall or winter will look like, but hopefully we’re back to some normalcy then.

Well damn. I was very much looking forward to the Dixie Chicks album, like a lot of others. The fact that a week from tomorrow was the release date just adds salt to the wound; the album was literally right in our fingertips and now it's in the year that this bi*ch covid says it's in. And we don't know for certain what that year is. :(
If there was a tour planned, and events like that are encouraged to not come back until we have a vaccine (which at the quickest time won't be here until LATE 2021), I have to wonder if we're now not even going to get the album until early 2022.

I really hope that they don't push the album that far back. I completely understand not releasing right now, but I would hate to see it get delayed by years. Completely understandable that a major tour may not happen for a couple of years, but I would hope that they would change their release strategy, rather than have to have the album wait for the tour.
Kenny Chesney (who is also releasing May 1st) hasn't announced anything yet, so at this point I would assume that his album is still coming. It's really interesting to me how some are choosing to push back (both country and not - Dixie Chicks, Luke Bryan, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, etc.) and some are going ahead (Sam Hunt, The Weeknd, smaller releases like Ashley McBryde, Maddie & Tae, etc.).

Gaslighter is listed on Amazon with a December 31st release date (Although that sounds suspiciously like a placeholder date if I've ever seen one... Lol)
