First Man was a great choice judging by the iTunes charts right now. Wish she would’ve done My Oh My and First Man though.

If she would’ve performed both songs they would’ve been fighting on iTunes like Shameless, Liar and Señorita were when Shameless and Liar released.

Weekly reminder that iTunes means nothing anymore.
Should have performed this.

There have been multiple #1 hits on iTunes that don't even make the Hot 100... It's helpful when a song is already charting and getting streams, the extra sales can kinda help it get a new peak or something... but an album track that's gonna be back outside the top 500 by the end of the week? Waste of a promo spot.
I get what she tried to do (i.e. "create a grammy moment omg") but it would have made much more sense if her career wasn't on the edge right now. Compare that with how Dua Lipa is handling her second era (performing DSN EVERYWHERE instead of random promo singles).

I think we saw last year with how Ariana was handled that Ken and the show's producers have a lot of control over what gets performed.

Not to mention the track she performed was co-written by Grammys man of the hour, Finneas.

Mostly talking about the album since it went up over 200 spots due to this performance. Probably would’ve been the same with My Oh My honestly but it’s still good!

My Oh My would've been a fun performance, but it wouldn't have had the same impact as First Man did with the viewers and it gained special poignancy after the news about Kobe and Gigi. Camila ended up being the 4th most talked about artist of the night and the general public ate it up. The comments on twitter were the most positive I had seen in months.

^ That guy is a big fan of her and her manager. I remember he had some shady stuff to say before an award show last year which a lot of people interpreted as shade towards another member of her group. It's sad how political and biased pop culture can be.
Again, I dont think she chose to perform that song so much as the showrunners dictated what happened in her slot.

And dua can’t even get a second top 12 hot meanwhile Camila has 2 number ones , Camila doing just fine

Oy, let's not bring Dua into this for her and Camila are different artists
Dua is from the UK after all and always had a bigger audience internationally versus over here
Ya'll AIN'T gonna drag talent, not here, not today

I’m surprised there’s some backlash to her performing First Man at the Grammy’s. This is actually one of the best songs on her album. Her performance did a good job of furthering a bit more of an identity for her. It will also no doubt be played during father and daughter dances at weddings likely for years to come. It’s a strong song on its own with a good melody, vocal and lyrics.
Between her performance and post about Kobe on IG she’s actually on the road to redeeming herself.

Dua and Camila are both insanely talented. They also both deserve to have #1 hits. After all the promo Dua’s done for Don’t Start Now you’d think she’d have a top 5 at least.

Camila has a big international fan base and with Dua the bigger part of her fanbase is UK based. It shows for Dua when Don’t Start Now debuted #2 in the UK, just behind Dance Monkey.

That wasn't my point Dua isn't as big in the US as her Camila was part of a relatively popular US girl group so she had exposure since the start All I was saying is that Dua has a bigger image overseas where she has found much more success and is still mostly breaking out here so the comparisons being made against Dua are pretty unfair

They aren't comparable please shut the hell up.
Camila has a good amount of hits.
Dua has had 1 major hit in the states.
It's an unfair/ridiculous comparison. Camila prior to this era already had her footing thanks to many years with a pretty successful girl group then a huge debut era. Then her bsecond biggest if not biggest song smashing just months ago. Dua literally has one song that has smashed in the states so of course she is going to have to work harder to get a hit. Her performing the song everywhere is the best thing she could of done so saying "she can't get a top 12 hit" is ridiculous. Besides it's already a hit stateside and thats not even looking at the international charts. And for what it's worth it hasn't even peaked on radio so it may very well reach that all important top 12 peak you speak of.
