I thought the music video was cute and well-made (especially in terms of costumes and looks). However, as much as the storyline was interesting, it had absolutely nothing to do with the lyrics of the song, so I'm not sure to what extent it will boost the song's performance.
I don't think it will be able to get to the Hot 100 top 10 anymore, but maybe a top 20 peak is still possible, and hopefully a lock at the 2020 Year-End as well. It will be a bigger hit than "Liar", regardless (which is a pity, since "Liar" is probably my favorite of her singles for this era).

Somehow you have conflated 'no comment' with 'nothing positive'. Any time I may have been critical or negative I was not addressing you, and yet you have in the past chosen to respond directly to me as if I @'d you (reminder: I didn't). It's only within the past 24 hours I've actively addressed you because once again you're being overly concerned about what other people are saying (and I'm pretty sure most of them weren't even talking to you either). Maybe try not obsessing over what other people are doing in this thread? I've already wasted entirely too many posts on this. |

I haven't stepped foot in this thread for a while and I regret my decision to just pop in and check up.
Anyways, this is a pretty bad update. There's no denying that. But is it flopping? No, it's done mediocre which is good enough considering how the rest of the era has performed.

On a serious note, this is doing decently in sales and streaming so I don't see how Pop won't take it to Top 10. Unless the callouts are just atrocious.

I think so far this has been a moderate hit. Neither a big hit nor a complete flop. Radio performance may be weak but streaming has been consistently solid for a while.
Maybe this is comparable to Only Human for example in which it was strong in one component but weak in another one.
