Well... I've just found out that Alejandro 'Pochi' Marambio is Peruvian and he's in charge of Tierra Sur. Also, there was something about the melody which was familiar to me, but I couldn't identify the reason of this.  Anyway, regarding the controversy, Pochi Marambio's representative clarified, to a local media (I can't find which one exactly though) that they are going to take all the corresponding measures next year. Starting the year off right! |

Yes, that's horrible, but it doesn't necessarily mean she is now. Her apology was also pretty half-assed in the PR statement kind of way, but again, that doesn't mean she's racist now. I firmly believe people can change and as of right now I have no reason to believe that she hasn't as there's no hard evidence to suggest she's still racist. Her Twitter stans on the other hand... hmm I don't think "innocent until proven guilty" is the way to go in situations like this. there's no evidence she's actually changed and is using her platform to do better. in fact, the way she posted one pr thing and then went on with her scheduled tiktok promo posts says otherwise for me. but I will say that this song is doing great and is on track to become the biggest hit off of her sophomore album. it is partially thanks to the Black man featured on the song, ironically. climbs 86 spots to its new peak o #16 today on Spotify. #34 on Apple Music US. |

Damn, she can't catch a break.
But this definitely is not on Camila. This is on the producer. All she does is mostly just write and sing in the booth and the producer does the work on the production. Not to mention, all of Camila's songs that people say she copied from such as "Cry For Me", "Havana", "Feel It Twice" and now "My Oh My" have all been produced by Frank Dukes... I wouldn't say that's a coincidence.
I seriously doubt a song from 1992 (before she was even born) with zero exposure and not even 1 million streams globally (from what I've read, I haven't checked myself yet.) Camila would just say "Hey copy this song!" And I doubt her team would warn her or anything because they probably didn't know about it either. This artist doesn't even have a wikipedia page.
At this point this whole thing is a blatant bandwagon hate campaign and it's ridiculous. Y'all already got her cancelled what more do they want, damn. It's obsession at this point. "My Oh My" is still going to be a hit cause Tik Tok is all over it and already gaining solid radio updates. It's fine.

The audio version on YouTube is doing very well in comparison to the other singles and album tracks. It already has over 21 million views within the three weeks the album has been out. An excellent music video should surely give this a huge boost.

They are probably promoting this to death at radio.
When someone new is playing venues that hold between 13-17,000 seats they know they need a hit.
