His debut single had no longevity on the charts, and the singles after that didn't chart at all. This new era isn't looking any better chart wise. I'm sure his album will have moderate success like his first but clearly his celebrity is bigger than his music. "Lights Up" and "Watermelon Sugar" weren't actively pushed anywhere outside of the TV performances. "Adore You," on the other hand, received a radio deal and is receiving strong playlist support on streaming services. It's clear his team did not intend to the first two releases to do much besides generate buzz. "Adore You" was always the main focus. "Lights Up" was only pushed to radio in Australia, the UK, and Italy. "Adore You" is the first radio single in the US. Lights Up had a video meant to stir up conversation, SNL promo, and was sent to US radio as well. I'm not buying the narrative that it's somehow not his lead single just because it didn't do as well as his team hoped, sorry.

I'm not buying the narrative that it's somehow not his lead single just because it didn't do as well as his team hoped, sorry. You are literally wrong about the bolded part, not sorry. Quit spreading false information. Perhaps it may have been sent to Hot AC or AAA, but those aren't exactly formats sparking hits and wouldn't change the fact that "Adore You" is clearly meant to be single they intended to put the most effort into. Also, not once did I mention the phrase "lead single." Edit: Yup, did my research. It wasn't sent to any radio format in the US. Any airplay it received in the US was completely unsolicited. "Adore You" is the first radio single stateside. Here's the thread for it to read for yourself: pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/187106/harry-styles-lightsYou think this would be obvious given "Adore You" literally debuted top 40 on pop today off of one day of airplay while "Lights Up" never charted. Why would his label put so much effort behind a third (second? What are you trying to classify "Watermelon Sugar" as?) single, but not the first? "Lights Up" is the lead radio single is most of the world, but here in the US, "Adore You" is the lead radio single. They literally didn't even attempt to push "Lights Up" to the radio stateside. That alone puts "Adore You" in a much better position to do well.

Give it time. It didn't get pushed here until after it already blew up everywhere else. It's still gaining in all metrics. This week it lost points from last week (probably, unless its UGC had a huge increase) I meant more of the figurative "gaining in all metrics" rather than literal. This month isn't really a good one to look at the numbers and gauge what a song is doing due to year end and Christmas tom foolery. But it is indeed still gaining in airplay, and should be relatively stable in sales and streaming all things considered. I fully expect it to be one of the bigger hits of January. Edit: Looked into it more. It's only down ~300k in streams (5%) on Spotify this week, which isn't much different from everyone else who is feeling the brunt of December's weirdness. It's currently #45 on AM, but I have zero idea where it was last week in relation. It seems to be up slightly on YouTube too. Sales also seem to be every so slightly up too. So it's definitely not acting like it's close to being done. Feels more like it's biding its time to finally get that limelight being taken up by other songs.

I dunno, its callouts are bad (virtually dead last) and its radio updates have slowed, virtually to a crawl the past couple days. Maybe it's due to the freeze, but I think it's more likely the US is rejecting it so it won't go much further, but I could be wrong. It has struggled to stay in the top 10 on Spotify, whereas in those other countries it shot right to the top. One metric it's doing well in now is sales but that barely matters anymore, although it's usually a decent sign for longevity and potential

One metric it's doing well in now is sales but that barely matters anymore, although it's usually a decent sign for longevity and potential I wouldn't worry too much about its airplay as of yet. It's getting most of its airplay from pop and right now it's at the weird spot on pop where songs typically slow down a lot before either being picked back up or dying. ("Lover" has literally been stuck there for 2.5 months lol.) It actually still has the second largest bullet in the 11-20 region behind "Roxanne." It's really only concerning if it gets stuck in that position for longer than 3-5 weeks (like "Lover") or slows down to nearly no bullet, like what happened with "One Thing Right," which is now falling, and what appears to be happening to "Graveyard" and even "10,000 Hours" now. And to make matters worse, that region is more cluttered than usual (thankfully it looks like a clean out of the region is coming soon with "Beautiful People" finally falling out of the top 10 and three others on the brink of falling out while two songs in the 11-20 range are also on their way out). As for the callouts. That gets a shrug from me. "Truth Hurts" debuted on callouts with similar results and it went on to be a multi-week #1 on pop and its callouts vastly improved. I have the feeling "Dance Monkey," being similarly "different" for radio yet having strong streaming and sales anyway, will have a similar fate with callouts improving as it ages. All in all, I wouldn't be too worried about "Dance Monkey" yet. If it's still struggling by this time next month, then it's probably cause for concern (same goes for "Don't Start Now").

Donโt understand the reasoning above. Itโs not like DaBaby and Lil Baby already arenโt grown men. Not babies. They wonโt soon outgrow the baby moniker. DaBaby was formerly known as Baby Jesus but for family and religious reasons changed it to DaBaby. So why in the hell are grown men calling themselves baby? I'm sorry I just think it's a little odd/dumb.

Well as a grown man who goes into the fetal position to cry about the existential nightmares of this world, I think it's perfectly reasonable for rappers to label themselves as Baby.

I feel like a gross sociopath right now because I read that article and almost immediately thought about how he might go #1 because of this
Unbelievably tragic stuff, he had such a bright future

Awww, thats sad. Its so sad how some of these rappers just don't live very long On a more chart-based note, Bandit could see huge gains soon and could even go to #1 like SAD! did. Anything else of Juice WRLD's could definitely make big gains But it is sad. He had a good future ahead and it was sadly cut short
