I have tried desperately to get into "Bad Guy" more than any other song that was a hit last year. Every single time I listen to it, I keep coming back to those fingersnaps (I hate that pop music in the 2010's has ruined fingersnaps for me, I really do), to how droning the song feels at times, and I can't get into it, really. Theoretically, I should have ranked it in the 30s or 40s, because most of the song just doesn't really do that much for me.

Funnily enough, the part of the song that is most divisive (the ending) is, to me, the saving grace of "Bad Guy". It turns the song from a bit of a bore into its own entity, something wholly unique in the pop universe. If the entire song was as good as the ending, it would have been in my top five.

I mean, I do prefer "SICKO MODE" over "bad guy", but I kinda feel like "bad guy" is a more fitting winner given "SICKO MODE" feels a lot more like a 2018 hit than a 2019 one despite what the Year-End lists might say

I think that, at this point, I don't believe you can really classify "Sicko Mode" as a song from a particular year. It just is. It reminds me a lot of "Uptown Funk" and how it seemed like that song was massive forever. At some point, it stops being a song from a certain year and ascends to a level of omnipresence.

We live in a "Sicko Mode" world now. That's just the way of the universe.

"Breathin" is one of those songs that means a lot in my life + it being an amazing pop song = a #1 rank from me. I think the song captures that feeling of drowning in anxiety - the song's helped me a lot just from a dealing with mental health perspective.

Despite what them snowflakes might say about me ranking this song in the 30s and not having a clue (it's not like I tanked it that hard so.... stay mad), I do enjoy "Sicko Mode" quite a bit. I probably could've put it some spots higher (now that I'm looking back at the list... the highest I would put this is probably between #16-20) but that wouldn't have changed the results either way since there is close to an 100 point gap between "Sicko Mode" and "Bad Guy".

Now for "Bad Guy" - I wasn't particularly into Billie's more mellow stuff until fairly recently after "Everything I Wanted" clicked with me, but ever since "You Should See Me In a Crown" I've been a fan of the YSSMIAC/Bury A Friend/Bad Guy sound. It's quite fresh in the current pop landscape, and I'm really excited to see where she goes next.

BG and Breathin were literally one spot apart for me so I can't really say I prefer one or the other. If one if them had to win at least it was the less predictable song. It's a good song and it still manages to make people mad so that's a plus. Never would've thought Sicko Mode could reach as high as #2, so yea, I'm ok with this finish
