Interesting round, definitely have my submission in my mind Might be a risky one though but it's an anthem for meeee Also s**t we already at top 6, I'm scared Actually that's a key as well...if I want to jump on my first Choice or take my time Yeah I usually just go with my gut feeling and submit my songs pretty instantly Like I just sent in my song for this round Idk I guess I'm anxious but I also think of songs really fast This one was a bit easy since the song I sent is one of my favorite songs by an artist I love the hell out of. Realistically since were down to much less people than we had at the start, I should take my time....buuuuut I hate slow so it ain't my thing Its probably gonna come back to bite my ass but that's a problem for then, not now

oooh this twist! gotta say just as a suggestion that 5 to 6 judges actually sounds like a well-rounded panel for Season 2, and could be two of three genres or 6 different genres.

ROUND NINE - RESULTSWelcome to the ninth elimination ceremony. If you haven't been burned by the heat of the competition, you will be soon enough. We're approaching the top 5! The top 2 for this round is only separated by mere .2 points and the person who barely snatched the win is...TRILOGY!OutKast - "Rosa Parks"If your goal was to make yourself looked seemingly unstoppable, well, I have good new for you. One judges kind of gave you a tiny score but the rest of us is on board with this choice, you even got 2 perfect scores! Congratulations for your third win of the season!Sambalada: "This song has everything needed to make a great rap song. Talented rappers, great flow, soulful instrumental, catchy beats. Obviously, together they make for an amazing tune. It was pure fire from beginning to end, every aspects of the song really complement each other. OutKast was a legendary group and this song is among their most acclaimed ones, for the reasons stated above." (9.3)MoD: "OutKast have went on to gain the status of being probably the best rap group of all time, and this song is a perfect example of why they are seen the way they are. Apart from having an amazing production (from the really enjoyable beat to the harmonica's and guitar's solos) with that really catchy chorus delivery from Big Boi and the catchy ""cracka-lacka""s, both verses are tremendously great, specially André's delivering an amazing wordplay throughout his whole part which really helps the argument of him being one of the best rappers alive. Simply incredible." (10)Lukas: "Damn this song is so enjoyable. From beginning to end as well. The vocals are fantastic from this group and the instrumentals are so nice; simply a great song lol." (9.7)Bigfan: "Reading the list, this was the one that I was most excited about, because I recognized the artist. But then, it ended up my least favorite. Rosa Parks is such an iconic name in American history, and I thought it was going to be a little about her story, but I found it a little disrespectful. I didn't hear anything that really honored her, and didn't understand the inclusion of her name. The production was just fine, and the rapping was just boring. No passion at all." (3.6)Willapted: "So, there’s a lot of great songs in this round. This one though, dare I say it’s in a different league. This is just an absolute classic. Like, it’s almost perfect. Idk what to say. Every element is just brilliant. What’s even crazier is how there’s 2 songs on Aquemini that are better than this. Yeah, don’t really have anything else to say." (10)Shooter: "This was one of those records that just illuminated the creative genius of OutKast and Organized Noize and, in retrospect, the audacity they had to challenge and change the sound of hip-hop in the 90s. A folk-influenced hip-hop jam, complete with acoustic guitar and a harmonica breakdown, named after a civil rights pioneer in the late 90s? Who does that?! Legends, that's who!" (8.5)TOTAL: 51.1 | AVERAGE: 8.52The second best is...NICK PERKINS!The Notorious B.I.G. feat. Mase, P. Diddy - "Mo Money Mo Problems"I have to be honest, you've been losing steam lately but this a step back in the right direction. Congratulations!Sambalada: "This has always been my favorite out of his two big posthumous hits. I love "I'm Coming Out" to death and I love how they use the sample. From the very first second of the song, the beat was already catching my attention. Then came the rappers, Mase was good but I gotta say Diddy is the weak link here as Biggie's verses are still great as usual. Also, the chorus of the song that clashed with the Diana Ross sample is a genius musical move. This song is prove that Biggie really left with a bang." (9.0)MoD: "This is just a great song all around. Diddy and Ma$e are usually not really good rappers, but both their performances song here are really enjoyable. But the real highlight here is Biggie. His verse is really solid on this song and it sums up why he is one of the most respected rappers of all time. That beat and the lyrics are pure gold too, and the chorus is really catchy and fun yet still serious." (9.0)Lukas: "This song is very enjoyable. From the intro to the end, the song is great all around. The beat and the rapping here are great, and the vocals are good (well, that was expected I guess). The production is also solid. Deserving hit." (9.2)Bigfan: "I really liked the production on this! The echos with the female voice was strong, especially in the chorus. Didn't really understand the "Mo" versus just saying "more", but that's a minor squabble. Another solid choice." (9.1)Willapted: "I’ve always preferred this over Hypnotize. In terms of rapping they’re very even but the hook on MMMP just blows Hypnotize out the water. Obviously the beat here is also great, Ma$e is nice on the first verse, Diddy is also there. I don’t have a lot of words for this song but it’s great." (8.6)Shooter: "I don't care who was writing their rhymes; Puff and Ma$e always left something to be desired in the booth. However, Bad Boy was good for masking lyrical deficiencies with stellar production and iconic samples so there's that. No denying the sample and Kelly Price's hook are what make this song great." (6.0)TOTAL: 50.9 | AVERAGE: 8.48Next...MAYMAN!The Notorious B.I.G. - "Hypnotize"Sambalada: "The production in this song is amazing. It's so groovy and fun and I found myself bopping my head back and forth to it. The hook is so catchy and did its job well as a hook, meaning they're easy to remember. I gotta say though this wasn't among his best songs. It's not my favorite rapping performance from Biggie but even then it's still great." (8.3)MoD: "Definetely not the best song from him, but it is still a really fun song. The beat is cool, the chorus is really catchy and although Biggie's verses are not his best lyrically speaking, his delivery and flow really makes it up for it." (8.2)Lukas: " I fail to find anything that is interesting in this song. The production in this song is good, but the chorus and vocals are not enjoyable and they’re not that good either." (5.0)Bigfan: "Such nostalgia on this! I didn't think I could recognize anything in this, but I have definitely knew this from various movies. This was definitely my favorite in the list, from the production to the lyrics, to just the great memories. Great choice! (9.5)Willapted: "Not one of his better songs. Of course, he’s still one of the best rappers to ever grace the planet but there’s a lot of songs on his first album I’d place over this. His best song "Juicy" was unfortunately used in the featured song, even still there’s like Gimme the Loot, Suicidal Thoughts, Machine Gun Funk, The What etc. just sitting there. Now to get to Hypnotize. It’s cool. The beat is nice, Biggie’s flow is obviously a highlight, don’t care for the hook though. Overall, it’s still a very good song, but there was potential for something better. (8.0)Shooter: "Man! I vividly remember when this song premiered and the impact it had, especially with Biggie's murder happening just days after. But, my nostalgia aside, this is an undeniable classic and makes me long for the days when rappers could drop club bangers without sacrificing lyrical content. Don't get me wrong; there's nothing wrong with mindless fun every now and then but rappers used to possess the ability of crafting catchy, quotable records that still managed to mean something, even if it was just 4 minutes of bragging. This is a flawless example of that. (10)TOTAL: 49 | AVERAGE: 8.17The last person to escape the bottom two is...WALT91!2Pac - "All Eyez On Me"Sambalada: "I gotta be honest, I was not very familiar with Tupac's discography so this is a great opportunity to get a sample of this legend. It's an amazing listen to me. Instrumental is on fire, the bassline immediately caught my attention, and I'm glad it's accompanied by a strong performance from Tupac. I can totally see how he is one of the most influential performer of all time." (8.4)MoD: "I have never been too crazy for Tupac as most people, but this song is pretty good. I'm not too crazy about the lyrics here, but that smooth beat and his strong delivery definetely help to that case, and although I'm not the biggest fan of his flow, it definetely doesn't majorly affect my liking for it." (8.0)Lukas: "This song is, in short, really good. The beat is so great and fun, the instrumentation is nice, and the production is quite nice. The lyrics are eh, but it’s still a great song that I can remember and play on my randomized playlist for quite a long time to come." (9.5)Bigfan: "I really liked the production on this one. The beat was strong and definitely felt like something I could get into...but then the lyrics kicked in and it was just so vulgar. I looked them up, and was stunned. Just can't fully get behind it because of that." (7.2)Willapted: "You may know that I’m not the biggest fan of Pac in the world. There’s just a lot of his music that doesn’t do a lot for me, despite Pac himself being a very good rapper. To add onto that, a lot of these moments that I don’t care for happen to be on this very album. Luckily though, All Eyez on Me isn’t a weak moment. It’s not one of his very best, but it still does a lot right. The beat here is great, the hook is iconic, and he flows so effortlessly over this track that I can’t help but love it. Great song." (8.5)Shooter: "Man! Talk about legendary! There's so many layers to the All Eyez on Me album and the impact it had on hip-hop still resonates to this day. That said, this is a classic record that I always felt would've benefited more from being a solo 2Pac track. The whole concept of All Eyez on Me was so personal to him as an artist and considering this is the first track he recorded after getting out of jail, I think his sole perspective was the only one needed on the track. Big Syke was nothing but a distraction." (7.0)TOTAL: 48.6 | AVERAGE: 8.1Which means the bottom two is...HAMED & JUGHamed, this might your first bottom two experience but you've been near at the bottom several times. I think your submissions have been very consistent but you never had your standout moment yet. We're already at the top six now and everyone is putting out their best game and you should come prepared.Jug, you are the real underdog story. You've been slowly building momentum all throughout the competition and even though your submissions haven't been my favorites, your unique and wide knowledge of music has done you good. However, it seems like you lost your steam this round. The person who still get to stay is...HAMED!Missy Elliott - "She's A Bitch"Sambalada: "OMG Missy, this is hot. The production in this is slick and effective. In its 4-minutes length, it was progressively getting more fun and catchy. Missy was the it-girl in rap music during the 90s-00s and it's easy to figure out why, her talent was fully showcased in this song. She's serving her bars with perfection. It might not feature her best flow but combined with the gorgeous production, it's simply a great rap song." (8.8)MoD: "While I get the appeal for this track, I have to admit it doesn't completely do it for me. The beat is good, but it's far from being one of my favorites, and while Missy Elliott is a great rapper, I fail to be too invested in this song, I don't find it to be as interesting as her other stuff." (5.7)Lukas: "The flow here is great and the vocals are solid, but the production is uninteresting and is the main reason why I can’t get into this song very much." (6.5)Bigfan: "I felt the passion here. You could definitely tell that it was a song that the artist was feeling....but I wasn't really. To me, it wasn't relatable to a larger audience, so for me that docked it a bit." (8.3)Willapted: "Okay so this is where Ski Mask got the beat for Catch Me Outside. Not sure if it’s because I’ve already heard that song a hundred times, but I instantly love the production on She’s a Bitch. Missy’s rapping is also nice, not the best I’ve heard from her. I think the main issue I have with this song is the hook, which is pretty weak, especially compared to some of the other songs here. Overall though, this isn’t enough to drag down my enjoyment of this song very much." (8.2)Shooter: "Missy's impact on hip-hop is undeniable and her creativity is unmatched but this is one of those rare moments where Missy the EMCEE jumped out on the track and reminded people that her pen game as a rapper should not be slept on! She might loves her kooky, funny, novelty raps but she's still that bitch who can burn the booth down in flames when need be!" (9.0)TOTAL: 46.5 | AVERAGE: 7.75You live. For now. You and Mayman are the only two who never won any of these rounds so it's something you need to set your goal in now. Congratulations for staying!Which means... JUG, I'm sorry but you've been eliminated.
Busta Rhymes feat. Janet Jackson - "What's It Gonna Be?!"
Sambalada: "This song's only flaw is the lead artist being the weakest part of the song. The production, the progression, and even Janet as the featured artist is amazing. I just don't really enjoy Busta Rhymes' performance in this. However, with the production being as good as it is, it's easy to overlook that. I mean who wouldn't move their body and ass side to side to these beats? It's a solid song." (7.5) MoD: "Busta Rhymes has many times proved himself to be a really skilfull rapper, but in this case I don't think he's near his best at all. I feel like the lyrics are pretty basic compared to the rest of his stuff, and although the song production is pretty good and does good its job of putting you in a ""sexy"" mood, I don't feel like this is really that special. Plus, I don't feel like Janet & Busta have the chemistry required for this." (5.0) Lukas: "The production is highkey mid and the performances from the two artists are pretty meh. In short, it's uninteresting and forgettable at best." (4.5) Bigfan: "Is this how you picked up girls in the 90s?!? Haha. I liked the production of it and the lyrics were smooth in parts, but also so cheesy. For me, definitely like the rap songs that are matched more with some other vocals, which this one was." (9.1) Willapted: "Yeah. Not surprised to see this here. It’s an okay song, Janet does sound very nice on it but idk, something is definitely missing. Busta for a start doesn’t sound great on this type of song and his voice contrasts a lot with Janet’s at some points. The beat is virtually non-existent, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but considering how uninteresting Janet/Busta are at times, it leaves nothing much going on for a while. The lyrics of the chorus are also very oversexualised which just makes me cringe more than anything." (5.5) Shooter: "This was the first time Janet had ever been a "hook ho" for a rapper and Busta's roughneck verses juxtaposed with her silky smooth hook made for a perfect combination. It feels like more people remember this for having the most expensive music video in hip-hop at the time (a $2.4m video in the late 90s was a BIG deal) but I think this is truly one of the more underrated "rap/sung" collaborations of the 90s. Effortlessly hypnotic!" (8.0) TOTAL: 39.6 | AVERAGE: 6.6
Yeah it's not even close. Even if every judges gave you an extra 1.0 point (so 6.0 overall) to you, you still would've been eliminated. It's been fun watching your progress in this competition and I'm sorry you have to leave right before the top 5. Thank you for participating! :(

Highkey asking out of curiosity because if this happens and I break a record, I want it documented
I lost here. The new round of WWT40 is starting where I COULD be eliminated (TBD) and Amazing Race results are tomorrow where I haven't been doing so hot
Has anyone around here ever have a losing streak like this? If not I demand we call bad luck like this Pulling a Jug or Jugging It
