#31 Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster
Chosen By: singingrulebritannia Genre: Southern Rock Year: 1979
Points: 418 SD: 12.88372913 (8TH HIGHEST)
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: Before I submitted, "Flirtin' with Disaster" was in real danger of being a bottom 14 mainstay. After I submitted, it looked like it would do enough to escape the first day. I wasn't expecting much out of one of the best songs of its type, a true southern rock banger, but I just wanted it to do well enough that I didn't have to talk about it this early...too good to be true, I guess. :weeuhr: shazam: yeah what the hell are y'all doing, this is one of the finest southern rock tracks, period. guitar work is phenomenal, it's full of pure grit and energy. i can practically taste the whiskey in my mouth when listening to this

#44. New Found Glory - Better Off DeadI'm usually on of the higher rankers of this Poppunk vibe for it's big loud melodies ,and obnoxious vocals, but even I only could go as high as #19, because of stronger songs on this list. #44 just seems cruel tho . #43. SafetySuit - Never StopSorry buddy. I tried. SafetySuit is awesome, and "Stay" was big top 10 for me. I know "Never Stop" was on your charts forever, and I really really loved it. An enthusiasm obviously not shared by all present. #42. Cold Chisel - Cheap WineThis was surprisingly melodic. A first time listen that got me pumped with it's uptempo vibes. #41. Saint Motel - Van HornI knew this would get sacrificed on this RD. I think it's one of their best. It's basically Saint Motel part 5, but those lyrics take it home. #40. Daddy Cool - Eagle RockThere were parts that sounded kinda hokey, but also kinda 70's Folk Rock too. The guitars were stand the out for me. I also lived in Eagle Rock L.A. many many many moons ago. #39. Extrabreit - Hurra, Hurra, die Schule brenntLyrics aside cuz really who knew what the hell he was saying, but that music was off the wall 80's New Wave. #38. Sum 41 - Open Your EyesLOL at that hyped vocals version of the song. At its normal speed this is a sold Poppunk jam. Nice to see that Glam Metal isn't the only Rock vibe that gets tanked on PULSE. #37. The Beta Band - Round The BendThis I din't enjoy at all. What was all that racket in the back round. I couldn't even pin point what sounds those were. This isn't Fad Gadget clicking bottles together cool either. #37. COIN - Fingers Crossed'Holy Coin toss. This was a straight out tie wasn't it? :o WTF happened to #36?#35. Shudder to Think - X-French Tee ShirtIt was cool to see "Dave Navaro' in action. 'nuff said. #34. Los Prisioneros - Estrechez De CorazónThis is a classic song on Mexican Rock radio and Clubs. Even better is the song "Tren Al Sur". I'm pretty sure Charly Garcia is next to fall? #33. AWOLNATION - The BestI actually didn't even recognize this one as the current song the band are charting. I just thought I had discovered another good song by AWOLNATION. #32. Charly García - Nos Siguen Pegando AbajoJust like the song says. This is a kick to the balls, cuz I really love this jam. This is another classic in Spanish Rock clubs. You dance this like you would Go Go's "We Got The Beat". The 80's New Wave goodness is off the charts here. massive fun. #31. Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With DisasterYou guys are taking a hatchet to my top 10 picks. My only top 10's might actually be my submitted songs? maybe?

#30 Falco - Der Kommissar
Chosen By: janinho Genre: Neue Deutsche Welle Year: 1982
Points: 418 SD: 11.43199354
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: In a lesser RD, this would be significantly higher. (I really could just say this about a bunch of songs in seed 1.) shazam: i actually liked this slightly less than Janinho's other pick, but this was still quite good

29 The Flaming Lips - Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell
Chosen By: Lordef†ones Genre: Noise Pop Year: 2002
Points: 421 SD: 8.862709464 (4TH LOWEST)
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: I'm a big fan of this Flaming Lips era, but this is not one of the highlights. shazam: this band is a bit polarizing for myself and many others, but this was definitely pretty good. i should probably give some of their albums a listen

28 Yo La Tengo - Let's Save Tony Orlando's House
Chosen By: Lordef†ones Genre: Noise Pop Year: 2000
Points: 425 SD: 9.180984489 (5TH LOWEST)
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: Funnily enough, this might be the most I've gotten into a Yo La Tengo song so far...and yet, because of how ridiculous this seed was, it couldn't escape my bottom 20. shazam: YLT are super cute fuzzy dream pop and this was no exception, solid stuff

27 Shakespeares - Burning My Fingers
Chosen By: jamesflame Genre: Freakbeat Year: 1968
Points: 430 SD: 10.51484212
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: "Freakbeat" One hell of a name for a genre. Oh, the song itself? It's good, very good. shazam: 60s rock has been something I've recently gotten into, so this was a nice discovery

26 Answers - It's Just a Fear
Chosen By: jamesflame Genre: Freakbeat Year: 1966
Points: 431 SD: 13.1134246 (6TH HIGHEST)
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: Interesting choice for a high SD, if you ask me. Unlike shazam, I think that this one is ever so slightly (and I do mean ever so slightly) inferior. shazam: same thoughts as #27, but i thought this was a bit better

25 The Sheila Divine - Hum
Chosen By: wheatsquares33 Genre: Alternative Rock Year: 1999
Points: 439 SD: 10.49240088
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: You know, for someone who absolutely adores 90's alt rock, I seem to be struggling hard to push the genre's songs out of the 30's here. A shame, because this is rock solid. shazam: just super super solid 90s alt rock, hard to go wrong with that most of the time

24 My Bloody Valentine - To Here Knows When
Chosen By: willapted33 Genre: Dream Pop Year: 1991
Points: 452 SD: 13.3739263 (3RD HIGHEST)
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: I mean, I know that this is the least popular of the three mbv songs here, but good lord. shazam: i am floored this didn't make top 20, but i get it. it's not exactly the most accessible thing off Loveless, but it's still very, very good

23 TR/ST - Sulk
Chosen By: @humanshazam Genre: Synthpop Year: 2012
Points: 455 SD: 11.81242284
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: lol, like hell, I'm going to rank TR/ST low. shazam: down goes my first pick :weeuhr: TR/ST are definitely one of my favorite discoveries over the past few months. i love the dense weaving of synths on this song mixed with the gothic undertones. i've only been to a club once, and every time i listen to this it transports me back there. dark, glittery bliss

22 Kitten - G#
Chosen By: Red Genre: Shoegaze Year: 2012
Points: 493 SD: 10.51008586
Thoughts from the Hosts Red: I would say this is my most controversial genre pick, but I wanted to include another song desperately, and this was the only way I was accomplishing it. "Shoegaze" is one of its genres on RYM, so I rolled with it. Really, I'm just glad that this finished higher than "Memphis" did in its seed. That's all I really wanted. shazam: based off what i've heard from Kitten, i did not expect a shoegaze song. but damn, was it a good shoegaze song

Thoughts from the Hosts Red: You know, for someone who has never really liked Beach House all that much, I find myself liking more and more of their songs lately. This one, particularly, was great. shazam: those of you who know me know Beach House is an all time favorite for me. this is no exception, one of the best on Bloom

okay what the fuck Wild should not be out this early. seemed like the type of song that would kill it in these rankdowns but alas...
also To Here Knows When > When You Sleep > Only Shallow and i'm genuinely surprised you guys disagree. i actually think Only Shallow might be the worst song off Loveless, though it's still not bad by any means.
