Sad to see One Little Kiss leaving so early! I love that song, but the Dallas Smith version, which was released as a radio single in Canada, is the one in my playlist. The intro melody is very infectious.

"Ghost Town" and "Days of Gold" are jams but "What We Ain't Got" is the reason I did this RD. It's an absolutely gorgeous song and video, I haven't heard it for quite some time now and revisiting it and the video for this RD had me in tears. I absolutely bawled listening to it for this and had it on repeat for quite some time afterward

The lyrics not only kill me but the song is so beautiful, so much emotion in the vocal too! This is the best Jake Owen has ever sounded IMO. The "I wanted the world til my whole world stopped" part is gut-wrenching, I can't listen to that without losing it every time. Definitely a song I can't listen to unless I want to cry lol but I love it so much.

And that it did! Finishing ten points ahead of the runner-up "Ghost Town" and scoring #1 rankings from exactly half of us, "What We Ain't Got" takes the crown and wins the rankdown. This song is beautifully written. I love how it starts off with a relatable verse about things we're jealous of others who are more well-off for having, and then relates that to wanting your significant other back...and then the music video shows us people going through hardships that force us to count our blessings and be thankful for what we do have. Incredible song and video all around. "Ghost Town" was also great, but for me it didn't touch "What We Ain't Got."

There you have it y'all! That's a wrap on the Jake Owen Album Series for now! We still have his Extras to get to, and then I'm debating whether to do his album tracks or not. In any case, I'm gonna pause this again and launch the Extras sometime in early 2022.

Yay, fantastic winner! I've aways considered "What We Ain't Got" to be a tad on the underrated side, so I am pleased to see it be a pretty ruthless competitor here "Ghost Town" was a very solid runner-up as well, and based on my ranking you can definitely tell that I am okay with it being our #2!!! Jake is probably never going to be a go-to albums artist for me, but there are definitely a small handful of standouts on every album, and this album series did a pretty good job of showing them off.

Count me in for the Extras and the album tracks!

At the rate country radio is going, that might be another several years yet   I guess I could get rid of those songs and make the list much shorter as a result…maybe some lists would start coming in

When Jake Owen cohosted CCUSA back in like july for BTSBR Lon asked him about a new album and he had said they are shooting for october (i think this year? lol) but he also said its not for certain and being that we are only 2 weeks out from october now i’m gonna say probably not happening at this point. Maybe by october next year, lol 🤷‍♂️

Hi. So I definitely let this one go by the wayside. I’ve only got two lists, and haven’t even started mine. That’s mostly because I never gave out any reminders as I was so wrapped up in the hubbub of the moving process. However, part of me also happens to wonder if there’s really any interest in this rankdown.

How are we all feeling? Should I give this a new deadline, or is there really not all that much interest? I can’t really do a proper rankdown with just three lists, lol.
