71. Let 'Em Burn - Nothing More My favorites from this band are different than everyone else's. "Mr. MTV" and "Go To War", but this was a chaotic mess. Sounds like they got 2-3 left over songs from last era,and made into one last album filler.

Volbeat also managed to reach the rock charts with this promotional single. I like this one just about as much as "Last Day Under the Sun".

We do a flashback to 1994 with tonight's last extra which was a bonus track on the 25th anniversary reissue of Throwing Copper. This song is not too bad and it would have been interesting to see how a 90s song like this would fare against today's Active songs.

I’m just going to be over here having a moment because I just realised Like A Storm made top 70 at the very least and that shit has never happened before. I’m stunned. I’m baffled. I’m thrilled.

"Leviathan" would have easily been in my top 20, perhaps pushing for top ten.
I'm fairly positive this is an unpopular opinion, but "Leviathan" >>> "Last Day Under the Sun"

I'm fairly positive this is an unpopular opinion, but "Leviathan" > "Last Day Under the Sun"I actually agree, while I really like "Last Day Under the Sun" it's a bit repetitive and that's what gives "Leviathan" the edge over "Last Day Under the Sun" for me. I also just prefer "Leviathan" musically too.

Seriously tho how did this happen?! And how did "Complicated" manage to do better than "The Devil Inside" did last year?! I'm so happy they made top 70, but there's also confusion lol.

Extras:
The Gutter - Coheed and Cambria This song was just fine, but it also sounded like they crammed the leftovers into one song.
Victim - Sunflower Dead Active confused this band with Saul. 'nuff said.
Leviathan - Volbeat Seriously good groove here. Was in my Metal chart just as they released the spectacular "Last Day Under The Sun"

Nevermind, I won't post all of the Mediabase Top 50 extras today. Instead I'll do half today and the rest tomorrow. These extras are sorted from lowest to highest total spins. | Slaves - Heavier | #50 | 1 |

| CORE - Killing Me | #50 | 1 |
| Afterlife - Throat | #50 | 1 |
| The Smashing Pumpkins - Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts) | #50 | 1 |

Ouch, Chicas closeness... I think the worst closeness I’ve ever seen at the end of a 100 song Rankdown was 37 something.

Also while this song is worse than "Crucified" it and "Crucified" are basically the same song? Loosely. I think it has more elements in common with Imagine Dragons. After hearing this, I know I'd be tanking it. Hawk-who?

Good: Heavier, Chemical, Prison, Silvery Sometimes, Saline, Without You, Way Down, Nimrod, The Great Divide, Drowning in the Sound, (Undertones maybe). Exits is burning on me with every listen. Summertime Treat is so bad. It's ridiculous.

Funnily enough, this year is one of those times where I didn't find the FFDP songs to be downright insufferable. Neither of them are particularly good, but they're certainly an upgrade on "Sham Pain". See a bar laying buried in the ground. Step over it. Congratulations, you cleared the bar for Sham Pain.

You had some more excitement last night. Let's see if 85-71 would continue my good fortune.
Also, I'm half predicting Crucified will show up here. I'm surprised it's lasted this long considering some of you thought we'd be done with it in the bottom 10:
85. Breaking Down: Kind of surprised that this is leaving so soon. Half expected this one to be there for a while. Good thing too because his vocals on the verses was not good.
84. Degenerates: In all honesty, I've never gotten into A Day to Remember. The best way I'd describe them is that it's sort of the rock equivalent of Frankie Ballard. They're just there. The guitars edged this up a notch, but not enough.
83. Back-Foot: In all honesty, I might have gone higher here without the rap stuff. Not that it was bad or anything, but the rock stuff itself was better. Before someone tries to own me about last year's rankdown, I don't remember much about 11:11 outside of the chorus?
82. Brother: One thing I missed was the big joke about everyone pretending to be Saul. Haha. Those guitars moved it up to the decent category, but no closer.
81. Crucified: I do get the weaknesses of this song. The vocals are rough, particularly in the beginning. The electronica is applied a little thick at times. But that chorus punches like a mofo and the verses are interesting. This may have been one of my most listened to songs on YouTube for what it's worth.
80. Listening for the Silence: For better and for worse, this is POD being POD. While they're behind the curve now, at least it's not as painful as say Motley Crue trying to push their sound into the 21st century by bringing in MGK.
79. Simple Man: Got thrown at first because I thought this was a hot CCR cover. But I guess this was kind of alright, if generic. Oh, and Perfecto x2.
78. The Time is Now: Welp, I thought this was the better of the two Atreyu songs. The chorus appealed to me more here than in House of Gold. *shrugs*
77. Blue on Black: The idea of using the cover for charity is a nice one. The remix with Brian May's guitar takes it up a notch. But ultimately, in the end, we need a more interesting vocalist than One-Note Moody. Although I agree with Red that both covers this year are better than Sham Pain (and I'll add Gone Away to the list).
76. Do Not Disturb: Most of the elements work here. I do appreciate the idea of letting the woman take charge of what she does in the bedroom. But for this seductive lyrics to fully click, you need someone who can sell them. The problem with this is that Lzzy never finds her voice for this song. Dunno if it's a songwriting problem or an issue with overuse. But one of Halestorm's songs were CLEARLY better than the others and hopefully makes the top half.
75. Purpose for Pain: Stapp is OK here but the generic lyrics hold this one back. The guitar playing helps the song out.
74. Be Legendary: Pop Evil's appeal depends a lot on a song by song basis; can't get into them as a whole. This wasn't bad, although I agree that the right Legend song has stayed longest (and will stick around for a while, I hope).
73. You're the One: Not much to say that hasn't already been said. But this feels a bit too soft for the active charts and kind of wishy washy lyrically. Lover, Leaver can stick around a while longer, though.
72. ihateit: tomysurpisethiswasn'tashardhittingasithoughtitwouldbe. thoseguitarshelpedbutbettervocalswouldhavehelpedmore. stillit'snothalfbad.
71. Let 'Em Burn: Everybody, everybody. Yet another conglomeration of Rage, Fever 333 and Bad Wolves, they should have let the master copy burn, burn, burn.
I'm kind of surprised that a certain Alice in Wonderland character has stuck around. Can we lose him?

Her closeness struck my eye cause I don’t think I’ve ever been that bad in closeness before. So that sucks.

Their entry from last year grew on me a bit ("The Devil Inside") but I don't get why they always need to overly autotune the lead singer's voice, it always sounds too artificial and doesn't blend well with the rest of the instrumental
