Mt. Joy - Sheep - The best single from this era, but that's not saying much as it would still have been in my bottom 50 most likely. The Raconteurs - Sunday Driver - Best of the four singles released, would have had this high. Ryan Adams - Fuck the Rain - It's a good song, but after what happened last year, he can stay gone. Strand of Oaks - Ruby - Top 20 for sure. flora cash - They Own This Town - Between this and now "Missing Home" peaking, I think they could be a one-hit wonder. Both songs are nice though. Sleater-Kinney - Hurry on Home - It's pretty good. Green Day - Father of All... - "AAA". Would not have been kind to this. Billie Eilish - Bad Guy - "AAA", but I like this one more. John Mayer - Carry Me Away - It's alright. The Decemberists - Traveling On - Good song, I've liked whatever I've heard from The Decemberists thus far. Sunflower Bean - Come for Me - Certainly better than what New Years Day did Sheryl Crow f/ Chris Stapleton - Tell Me When It's Over - This is alright but it needs to stop hovering around the top 50 already since it's pretty much going nowhere. Freya Ridings - Castles - One of the better "pop" hits to make AAA, wouldn't have minded ranking this Jenny Lewis - Wasted Youth - I actually prefer this to RB&H... Anderson East - This Too Shall Last - Best of the three Anderson singles off that era. Josh Ritter - Losing Battles - I didn't care for "Geting Ready to Get Down" that much but I like both this and "Old Black Magic" a lot. Maybe the Jason Isbell production helped? Beirut - Landslide - Good song, top 50 at least for me. Kodaline - Head Held High - This one's alright.

{I SAID THERE WOULD BE A WORD WALL}#85: This having a top ten highest SD is actually kind of understandable in AAA, but it's still hilarious. #84: Despite my ranking, I'm a little surprised this is out now. #83: I should have been more optimistic and assumed this wouldn't escape the bottom 20, but I genuinely thought its appearance in WTM would save it from being lower. There's just nothing here that I haven't heard before. #82: Another #1, man. I definitely did not dislike the Mumford songs, as evidenced by where I ranked them in Alt, but this is more difficult territory. #81: I feel the same way about this reveal as I did about "Again and Again": Perfectly acceptable song from John Mayer, albeit not quite one of his best. #80: Speaking of "this is more difficult territory", hi, "Home"! #79: Knew this one would go out first. My problem with J.S. is that I feel like he has worlds of potential, but he hasn't quite realized it yet. I want to hear more from him, though, and I think "Lebanon" is a decent start. #78: This is lower than I expected, wow. #77: This, on the other hand, is exactly where I expected it to be, given where it finished in Alt. #76: AAA is a minefield, what can I tell you #75: "No Roots" is better than this, and I'm not a big fan of "No Roots". #74: I'm not sure why I didn't think that "Trampoline" would have a high SD. I actually expected it to have an even higher SD. #73: It finishing among his 2016 and 2017 material makes a lot of sense. "You Worry Me", this isn't. #72: Tom?! Well, I made it nearly thirty reveals without a top half loss, so I can accept that in AAA. #71: This concerns me, not because I'm losing this particular song, which is pretty good, but because this does not bode well for a couple of songs I ranked higher.

Mid-morning Word Wall (seriously, you did this at 7 AM this morning?):
85. Joy: I've never been able to get into Bastille. Yes, even during Pompeii which should have been on the same film. It might have helped because otherwise only Kiefer Sutherland and the lava were interesting about that one.
84. Won't Let Go: First impression of this guy and it was eh, alright, I guess. Maybe in a less crowded field (Fearless, you have no idea how right you are), this might have done better for me.
83. Outnumbered: Put this in the "I enjoyed this one more than the majority" file. Dug the vocals and the beat for it.
82. Guiding Light: Not really much difference between the Mumford songs this year. It's hard to determine which one was better, so *shrugs*.
81. I Guess I Just Feel Like: This felt more out of the No Such Thing kind of tune and less Your Body is a Wonderland camp. In other words, I thought it was alright but it just lacked the vocal punch needed to make this one memorable.
80. Home: LOL at this beating the Alternative ranking. I mean, the Alternative rankdown is less stacked so no clue. You can't blame me upgrading the alternative tunes here for this one.
79. Lebanon: I kind of have to agree with Daryl here. This probably deserved better than showing up for at least another day or two. Nice lyrics and music. Not bad for a first listen.
78. Make It Happen: Yeah, this is no Off the Ground. But between this and Life to Fix, I think I'm becoming a fan?
77. Forgive Me Friend: If you have to do a pop folk tune, make sure you use instruments and not just a dance beat. The organic-ness of this song caused it to just miss out my top half.
76. Gloria: The Lumineers are just one female song title from taking on the Lil Wayne role in Let It Rock.
75. Funny Business: It's no No Roots, but it's still fine.
74. Trampoline: The bloom has fallen off this rose. Was tempted to go lower due to massive pop overplay.
73. Hey Mama: Did y'all treat SOB like that? Shame, shame. Found this one a solid blues rocker.
72. Shame Shame Shame: Shame of fools (sorry). Another first time listen, another solid tune.
71. Hard Case: Great first time listen.
Alright, can we try to at least halve the number of songs in my bottom half next time? OK, thanks.

85. Joy - There goes my first top 50 (and top 25 for that matter). This grew on me a fair amount. Yeah, it's pretty generic, but generic Bastille is still enjoyable (certainly moreso than their EDM dabblings and ill-conceived covers).
84. Won't Let Go - Decent but not much more IMO.
83. Outnumbered - Another one I could take or leave. I'm glad his other song didn't get tanked too badly.
82. Guiding Light - BOOO-ring, nuff said. No wonder they saved "Blind Leading The Blind" to be a standalone single, it was too interesting for this album.
81. I Guess I Just Feel Like - I liked the single cover, the "No Frills" brand (or lack thereof) brings back childhood memories of grocery shopping at Pathmark. Alas, "no frills" also describes the song very well.
80. Home - It's catchy, kinda burned on me after a while, but I still enjoy it more than two-thirds of this list.
79. Lebanon - I wanted to like this more than I did.
78. Make It Happen - Better than "Life To Fix", but still meh.
77. Forgive Me Friend - Aside from it being really derivative, the banality of the chorus is what made me dislike it.
76. Gloria - I liked this a lot at first, then it kinda grew off me, but still think it deserved a little better.
75. Funny Business - Not really a fan of this one, I might have boosted this above other meh songs due to liking Alice Merton in general.
74. Trampoline - This one kinda gradually grew on me over time, I would have liked to see it at least escaping the bottom third.
73. Hey Mama - Not one of his more memorable songs.
72. Shame Shame Shame - Better than their previous single, not as good as "Call Off Your Dogs", overall just meh.
71. Hard Case - Has its merits but ultimately didn't make that much of an impression.

Gonna join in on the word walling.
85. Joy - Goodbye. Bastille has gone super downhill.
84. Won't Let Go - I'm kinda sad to see this one go. I always really liked this one. I think there's some dated-ness to it, but overall, this isn't a bad song. It shouldn't be this low.
83. Outnumbered - Dermot seems to be getting a lot of hate. I don't really care for this one like I do "Power over Me" – Irish Ed Sheeran is a good comparison for this track specifically (but he is leagues above Ed). I originally had this in my 80s, then I thought I was being too mean, and now I realize I kinda over-compensated since I never was really that big on the song. This should have been in my 60s or 70s – not #44 or whatever.
82. Guiding Light - This and "Beloved" are just boring. No substance to either. At least they saved the era a bit with "Blind Leading the Blind".
81. I Guess I Just Feel Like - This does not deserve to be this low. I love the build of this song. It has smart songwriting, and the last minute or so is outstanding. I may have overranked it a tiny bit, but this is still a good song. I think this was tanked since people think of John Mayer as a Hot AC guy.
80. Home - Good bassline on an otherwise basic song. It's good music, fine singing, meh lyrics. I didn't care enough to save it from my higher ranking on Alt.
79. Lebanon - I thought this was so boring and a total snoozer.
78. Make It Happen - I can't think of The Record Company without thinking of gravey thinking they were the worst thing to ever exist in AAA last year or the year before, lol. I don't think this is bad at all. It should have been higher.
77. Forgive Me Friend - As generic as this is, this one just works for me. It always has.
76. Gloria - I liked this when it came out, but it just kinda burned on me. This hasn't been a bad era or anything for them, but both of the singles have been just very forgettable.
75. Funny Business - This is not a good song. Alice did well on the first two singles, but this is the right spot for this.
74. Trampoline - It still baffles me how big this has gotten for an otherwise generic song.
73. Hey Mama - Nathaniel Rateliff tends to be hit or miss for me, but this one fell kind of in the middle. It's a longshot from "You Worry Me", however.
72. Shame Shame Shame - I wanted to like this one more, but I thought this just got kinda annoying.
71. Hard Case - This was robbed. Great band, pretty solid song.

Didn't know the next set would be revealed so soon. Scattered thoughts:
"Joy", "Shame X3", and "Won't Let Go" are catchy songs that I may have overranked but I wouldn't mind listening to.
"Outnumbered" and "Guiding Light": getting rid of my bottom 10 trash, nice.
"I Guess I Just Feel Like": definitely shoulda ranked this lower. Can't remember anything worth listening to in it.
"Home": Felt like I was too nice to it in the Alt rankdown. That whooping seriously kills all interest.
"Lebanon": Wanted to like it but it's not memorable enough for me to put it higher. Feel like I forget it the moment I stop hearing it.
"Make It Happen", "Forgive Me Friend": Literally nothing to talk about
"Gloria": I've never gotten Lumineers. I feel like I'm missing something. There's a reason why they're popular, right?
"Funny Business": Eh... no one is good all the time.
"Trampoline" really does feel uneventful. It's a Billboard Hot 100 top 20 hit yet still doesn't feel important.
Man getting Perfect Rankings feel good. can I have more? Also "Hey Mama" exists
"Hard Case" did grow a bit on me.

This is moving at a rather quick pace so I haven't been able to comment along, but going to try and make up for some of the songs revealed thus far: "Guiding Light" - Out of all of the songs included here this was my most played song from 2019 and was my 15th most played song overall, so this was an easy #1 for me and it's one that I dedicate to my Bella who has without a doubt been my guiding light for the last 14 years (don't think I didn't see your ranking for this SHOOTER ...) "Mess" - This was one of my favorite discoveries from the rankdown and with a couple of more edits it likely would've been inside my top 20...glad to see .indulgecountry gets this one. Great song and I’m a little taken aback by some of the hate thrown his way on here. “Bad Liar” - Not at all surprised to see this leave first and honestly it was within my bottom ten for the first few edits. I’d never go out of my way to listen to this song, but it did seem to have a bit more life to it than some of the other songs that did end up near my bottom. “High Steppin’” - I wasn’t at all expecting this to do well but I do feel as though I underranked it. I could do without the spoken versus but overall it’s a tune that does end up getting stuck in my head. “Come Tomorrow” - What a disappointment and waste of Barndi Carlile’s talent. “Cringe” - Consider this a guilty pleasure plus a song that I enjoy running along with. I also love the acoustic version a lot and low-key kinda find Matt and his voice to be rather attractive… “Gloria” - I’ve long been a fan of the Lumineers and just splurged on their show here in Austin (although that has more to do with their opening act Gregory Alan Isakov), but I love this song and their album is great especially “Salt and the Sea”. I’ll leave it at that for now as those are the handful of songs that I wanted to come back around and comment on.

First off. I don't think I've ever shown up that high in that stats numbers. and I cleared my tank LOL! 85. Joy - BastilleThis band is just dust in the wind of what they once were. 84. Won't Let Go - Jamie N CommonsI'm pretty sure I hated some other song by this guy in previous RDs. The chorus here pushed this one up my list. It gave the song a heartbeat, and It wasn't all that terrible. 83. Outnumbered - Dermot KennedyI couldn't stand this song. His speaking voice was unlistenable, but I was much kinder to his second offering. 82. Guiding Light - Mumford & SonsThis one couldn't guide itself out of a paper bag much less out of my tank. 81. I Guess I Just Feel Like - John MayerThis was just another song that sounds like this that I could easily tank to me. Another tank clearance for me. 80. Home - morgxn f/ Walk the MoonJeez I would have tanked that live version hard. At least the studio version had something to offer in guitar department. 79. Lebanon - J.S. OndaraThis guy kinda sounds like that Tracy "Fast Car" chick. I didn't care for that one bit, but i was much kinder to his second offering, because of the melody I hope the rest of you were too?. 78. Make It Happen - The Record CompanyThis one was pretty forgettable compared to their other hits, but it did have some listen worthy guitar. 77. Forgive Me Friend - Smith & Thell f/ Swedish Jam FactoryI still don't think Indie Disney Folk was that bad, and for once the Live version was just as upbeat. Silly as F U C K, but upbeat. 76. Gloria - The LumineersI have nothing to say about this crappy song, but hey I'm really clearing out my tank here. ;) 75. Funny Business - Alice MertonStill has a cool bass line and Alice Merton vocals. This sounds good live too. 74. Trampoline - SHAEDNothing I would ever chart, but I hate this song's chart run more than the actual song itself. This is a decent placing for it. 73. Hey Mama - Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night SweatsThis has got to be a record for me? Clearing my tank before the first 30 reveals. I'm just being consistent with tanking acts I do on a yearly basis. "Nat and The Sweathogs" have never enticed me in the least. 72. Shame, Shame, Shame - Lake Street DiveI have always liked this band. One of the few AAA only acts I have charted. This one has a lot to do with her vocals. Lake "Jane" has great tones. 71. Hard Case - T edeschi Trucks BandThis almost gave me Janis Joplin vibes. Not bad at all for a Woodstock performance.

Extras: Last Night.Head Held High - KodalineThis was surprisingly Upbeat. The chorus is doing exactly what its meant to do. Landslide - BeirutFor some reason seeing that Viking on the thumbnail got me hopes up for some Swedish metal. The song itself is better than most of the stuff I ranked here. I think The way I the vocals were arranged worked for me the best. Losing Battles - Josh RitterI tend to like this traditional Heartland guitars stuff a bit more than others. Take the guitars out and I probably wouldn't care as much. This Too Shall Last - Anderson EastThe music wasn't bad but then he opened his mouth and I didn't care for his tones. Wasted Youth - Jenny LewisThis would have a been a great one to rank. Castles - Freya RidingsYou can sell me some thing quicker with female vocals, but this is actually a great sounding song. Uptempo and I love all the instrument aspects of it too. She also has a little Alice Merton thing in her tones. A few of these extras might have shaken up my top 30 a bit. Tell Me When It's Over - Sheryl Crow f/ Chris StapletonChris is that guy for "Blow" right? Yeah this is pretty hot. Sheryl's vocals make it quite enticing. Extras: Tonight.Carry Me Away - John Mayerbetter than the one I tanked. A bit repititous in the chorus, but melodically soothing. Bad Guy - Billie Eilish WTF did I just watch? Anyway, I'm just glad we didn't get to rank this travesty or else I would have never cleared my tank this early. Father of All... - Green DayAt the same time I would have lost one of my would be top 3 right at the starting gate. Also when did Green day turn into a 6 man band? LOL! Hurry on Home - Sleater-KinneyDamn this is HOT! Sounds like something KROQ would have played in the early 80's (back when KROQ was still cool). I don't even remember a thread for this one, but sounds like something right up my alley. They Own This Town - flora cashSuper boring ,and not even bad enough to be tank worthy. At least the songs in my bottom 10 make some kind of impression. A horrid impression, but an impression. This was coma inducing at best. Ruby - Strand of Oaks Getting Tom petty vibes here. The vocals didn't live up to that intro, but the music , and chorus are good. f**k the Rain - Ryan AdamsNothing to write home about, but I must ask "Hahahahaha burn in hell pig". That's harsh. Did this guy piss someone off with some sex stuff? A few years ago we were upgrading his songs. Particularly one I loved titled "Do You Still Love Me?".Come for Me - Sunflower BeanThis sounds like something that would take the train into my top 30. These songs spend so little time on the chart they completely fly under my radar. Traveling On - The DecemberistsI don't recall ever liking anything for this band. This wasn't particularly good, but melody wise soothing. Sunday Driver - The RaconteursThis one would have shaken off my top 10. 'nuff siad. Sheep - Mt. JoyThat bear throwing up on the sleeve art is exactly they kind of joy I got from this.

TL:DR - This pratically ended his career just like what happened to R. Kelly, Harvey Weinstein, etc. Hence 28-20-36. AAA stations have since completely dropped him off their playlists.

Joy: I’ve concluded I don’t like Bastille as a band, I just like some of their songs (and this isn’t one of them).
Won’t Let Go: Another song that grew on me the more I listened to it.
Outnumbered: why did I have this so high? Don’t drink and rankdown.
Guiding Light: see: Joy.
I Guess I Just Feel Like: I wouldn’t have expected a John Mayer song to end up in my bottom-10 but I honestly forgot this existed and I guess I just feel like JM going through the motions doesn’t do it for me anymore.
Home: that bass line alone made it top-70 worthy!
Lebanon: I had heard of J.S. Ondara prior to this RD but had never heard any of his music. And I didn’t hate it! At least not this song.
Make It Happen: I deserved that PR and y’all know it.
Forgive Me Friend: Yeah, still not here for Cotton-Eyed Joe turned wistful.
Gloria: see: Joy; see: Guiding Light.
Funny Business: kinda surprised this is only the second hit to my top-half. It’s no New Rules but this is the only other song I remember liking from her album.
Trampoline: I cannot remember the last song I was so ambivalent about. They’re totally gonna be one-hit wonders though, right?
Hey Mama: I love me some NR&TNS but this I only kinda sorta like.
Shame, Shame, Shame: it saddens me that Lake Street Dive remains underrated and underexposed. They’re such a quietly consistent group!
Hard Case: I’m such a sucker for a Muscle Shoals inspired groove!
*** Of the extras I know, I'm glad this RD was Billie free (although I'm still very much a fan) Carry Me Away would've been a lot higher on my list and I wished Hurry On Home had been the SK song to make it as it was one of my favorites of 2019 period (same goes for their album). And thank you for reminding me how much I loathe Ryan Adams for turning out to be such a total piece of shit. What a waste!

Overall pretty satisfied with the reveals - there are a couple of high ranked songs that I lost (I believe "Hey Mama" was in my 20s) but oh well - given the quality of a lot of the songs in this rankdown I'm not particularly surprised. Maybe I knew what I was doing when I tanked both Ryan Adams songs in the 2017 AAA RD

I'm going to be upfront with you guys: This set chugs piss. Thank God I'm behind the controls, because if I were seeing these results for the first time I don't know how I would react lol. I don't feel too talkative; mostly interested in plowing through these s**tty reveals so we can move on to (slightly) more verdant pastures. Now, I did say it'll suck, but I didn't say it won't be entertaining. Case in point: it's time for the HIGHEST standard deviation. One person loses a top 5, 2 lose a top 10, 4 people lose top 20s, and 3 lose top 30s. 5 more top 50s. Dragging this song down was 5 bottom 10s and 4 bottom 5s, one perhaps a #100. Two posters clear their bottom 10s here.

Congrats rowellfarm490 and Walking Contradiction on clearing your bottom 10s. I kind of wish the highest SD wasn't a song shared with Alt, but you take what you're given. 70

I imagine the outro would be just one of many horrors I would hear in hell.
(I think that "Girlfriend" on loop 24/7 would be a more likely torture, though.)

#69 was in the top 50 once around the beginning, but it mostly vacillated between the 60s and 70s, getting out of the bottom 40 only once in the last 2/3rds of movements. Only 1 bottom 10, though it is a bottom 5. 6 others ranked it bottom 20. This song grabbed 11 top 50s--the highest of them are 2 top 25s.

Oh cool, now I only have one bottom 10 left... and it's my 100... which I expect to last a while.
