Well, we still had to rate and rank it in the 2019 Year End Rankdown. *shrugs*

This Durham band still can't catch a break in terms of obtaining enough spins to make the top 100 north carolina gang

Happier - I'm so done with this. I Need a Teacher and Black Moon Rising are pleasant enough, might make my top 50 When We Drive is better than Northern Lights. It performed worse on my chart because of timing/competition, I guess, but quality-wise, I feel the former is better. Justice and Little Light are ok. Knock Me Off My Feet is good. Cynic is another eh song from Noah Kahan.

40. This Life - Vampire WeekendThis is a bit more beach pop that the other one, so I like it way more too. 39. Help Me Stranger - The RaconteursNot much more to say about this one. It's a decent rock number that sounds a lot better once Jack White joins in. 38. The Way I Feel - KeaneI was kinda hoping this AAA only charter would have gone top 20. Reminds me a bit of A Silent Film or Handsome Poets with the synths and stuff. 37. Lo/Hi - The Black KeysI knew this one would receive some Alt backlash. It's not a masterpiece, but a really fun Poprock jam. 36. Almost (Sweet Music) - HozierWell what do you know? A Hozier song that I didn't tank. For once this guy's music had a heartbeat. 35. Movement - HozierThis is something I would usually tank blindfolded. It just wasn't offensive enough to tank. 34. Change - The RevivalistsMore or less where it should fall on both Alt and AAAA charts. It has a beat. 33. Dylan Thomas - Better Oblivion Community CenterThis is alright. The best aspect for me was the male/female duo vocals. 32. Shelter - Broken BellsThe only one I really love is "After The Disco". Nothing else has enticed me much. I was also not a fan of its "background noise" The best I could do with this one is put it right outside my top half. 31. You Had Your Soul with You - The NationalI thought this would be more of a "hard -On" song among the big AAA fans. His vocals didn't sound all that bad this time around, but the composition still strikes me as musically chaotic, and I still can't tell where the chorus starts and ends. 30. Old Black Magic - Josh Ritter I like the guitar vibe, but after a while they all kinda start sounding alike. The organs give it a 70's vibe which is why it almost made my top 40. 29. Mettavolution - Rodrigo y Gabriela Watching them perform was the best aspect. What's better than one guitar? Two Guitars. I can't explain it but the song just takes you somewhere. So many different melodies. I wonder how they all came together this perfect. 28. Calm Down - Pete YornThis one was good for Pete Yorn. Wonder why this didn't chart on Alt? 27. Different Kind of Love - Adia VictoriaBeing the highest ranker here actually makes perfect sense. It was one of the few AAA only charters that made my weekly charts. Gotta love that Tarrantino Soundtrack vibe the song has. 26. If It Feels Good (Then It Must Be) - Leon BridgesI've always liked Leon Bridges vocals. They ooze some serious soul. Sometimes the songs or cameos songs he does don't work for me, but this was a nice return to bit of retro vibe. Sounds like that song Pharrell Williams wants to write but just can't.

Extras:Cynic - Noah KahanI swear this guy would have accomplished slotting 3 songs in my bottom 10. Little Light - Amos LeeOh no. What is this ? Night of the vocally challenged singers? Black Moon Rising - Black PumasThis had some proper 60's- 70's R&B vibes. Knock Me Off My Feet - SOAKThis is a pleasantly melodic and charming song. Would have been interesting to see how high it would show up in this RD? Justice - Citizen CopeI just couldn't cope with this corny ass melody. When We Drive - Death Cab for CutieThis band had a hell of a year on my charts with a song that is not this song. It isn't bad tho and it does give off a driving vibe with the guitar works. I Need a Teacher - Hiss Golden Messenger This kinda had Hootie and The Blowfish vibes in the music, but the vocals kinda sounded corny. Happier - Marshmello & BastilleI remember like th MV with the dogs, but this stellar live performance made me realize how hokey this song really is. I would have tanked this just hard enough to wipe that smile of that stupid bucket head.

Are you guys ready for another painful set? #25 has a rather low SD. Four people put this top 10, and they are joined by seven other top 25s. The lone top 30 is a bottom 20.

This is kind of, sort of out earlier than I expected, but I definitely didn't think it would make the top ten, like some thought. It's just not one of their most popular songs.

In all seriousness, Moderation is again good, but not one of my favorite FATM songs. (I consider "Shake It Out" to be a masterpiece, and I underranked "No Light, No Light" in 2012 Alt) I'd even take another "Ship to Wreck" or "What Kind of Man". In comparison, on the film side, Florence Pugh gave one of my favorite performances in 2019 for Little Women, and while I've not seen Midsommar, from what I've seen, she's freaking great in it, too.

#24 is something some y'all have been waiting for. It was another one that gradually climbed into the top 25. Ranks include five top 10s, nine other top 25s and four bottom 30s, including a bottom 10.

Oh, I somehow missed that the entire last batch even happened.
Well, not mad at having only 6 songs left below bottom 30. And I've still got 11 top 20 songs floating around here so I'll take it. Of course, they'll all bow out I've said it.

As someone from Michigan, I am obligated to highly rank The Raconteurs. Just wait til we rank Michigander next year.
jk but yeah good Raconteurs songs this year. Would like some of the next few songs to be from my remaining bottom 50s, but I can see any of those songs making top 10 so tough luck to me, I guess.
