We have another new #1 and this one comes from Tame Impala, who has had an amazing year on the chart in 2020! After spending months in the Top 10, "Breathe Deeper" has reached #1 giving Kevin Parker his second #1 hit this year! Can he actually hold it for a second week though? Because Nothing But Thieves came in hot rising six spots to #2 with "Real Love Song". Glass Animals' "Your Love" falls one to #3. The Killers' "My Own Soul's Warning" also makes a strong leap to #4. Angels & Airwaves closes out the Top 5 with last week's #1 song, "All That's Left Is Love".

Aside from "My Own Soul's Warning", three songs enter the Top 10 this week. Hayley Williams' "Dead Horse" re-enters the Top 10 at #6, with The 1975 and Georgia also entering the Top 10 at #s 8 and 10, respectively. Four songs make their debuts this week, two of which are from new artists.

2020 - Week #31: August 2, 2020



Tame Impala holds onto the crown as "Breathe Deeper" spends a second week at #1! Will it get to spend a third week at the top? Or will Tame Impala once again be dethroned by The Killers, as "My Own Soul's Warning" continues to rise up the chart up to #2? There is also #1 potential in Hayley Williams' "Dead Horse" as the song rises up three spots to #3. "Real Love Song" by Nothing But Thieves takes a small two-spot hit down to #4, with Angels & Airwaves closing out the Top 5 with the #1 hit "All That's Left Is Love".

No new songs enter the Top 10, but we do see a nice little re-entry from Tame Impala's other #1 hit this year "Lost In Yesterday". We have three songs entering the chart, but only two of them are new songs, and only one of those two is from a new artist. There are two new songs in Bubbling Under, both of which are from acts who recently made comebacks with their latest albums.

Hayley Williams earns her first #1 hit this week as a solo artist as "Dead Horse" rises up two spots to the top! The Killers still hold strong at #2 with "My Own Soul's Warning". Glass Animals re-enter the Top 5 with "Your Love (Déjà Vu)". Last week's #1 song, "Breathe Deeper" by Tame Impala, falls three spots to #4 and Nothing But Thieves close out the Top 5 with "Real Love Song".

Two songs enter the Top 10 this week: Katie Pruitt's "Expectations" and Michael Kiwanuka's "Rolling". A few songs take some big leaps into the Top 20, but we also see a few big droppers towards the bottom of the chart. Two songs debut in the middle of the chart. One of them debuted after only spending a single week in Bubbling Under. The other is a song that skipped Bubbling Under completely and is from one of 2020's most critically acclaimed albums.

Hayley Williams' "Dead Horse" manages to spend a second week at #1! The Killers are still holding strong at #2 with "My Own Soul's Warning". Nothing But Thieves return to the Top 3 as "Real Love Song" rises back up two spots to #3. The 1975 earn their first Top 5 hit since last year's "It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)" as "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)" hits a new peak at #4. Tame Impala close out the Top 5 with their #1 hit, "Breathe Deeper".

Two songs enter the Top 10 this week, both of which are the artists' first appearances in that region. Starley's "Arms Around Me" continues its steady rise up to #8 this week. Jessie Ware also reaches the Top 10 on her second week with "The Kill" at #9. The Airborne Toxic Event takes a good leap this week into the Top 20. Three songs debut this week, one of which is from a returning artist who had two of the biggest songs of last year. The other two come from new artists making their first appearances!

Will the release of Imploding The Mirage be able to finally push the song up to #1 next week? We'll see and find out! Katie Pruitt earns her first Top 5 hit as "Expectations" moves up three spots to #3. The 1975 hold at #4 with "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)". Jessie Ware closes out the Top 5 with her first Top 5 hit, "The Kill", at #5.

No songs enter the Top 10 this week and only song enters the Top 20, which is a re-entry from Coldplay's #1 hit from earlier this year, "Trouble In Town". There aren't too many big movements this week, although the most notable is The Chicks making a small rebound with their hit "Gaslighter". Four songs debut this week, three of which are from familiar faces.

Thanks to the release of Imploding The Mirage last week, The Killers got the boost they needed to get "My Own Soul's Warning" to #1! "About Work The Dancefloor" by Georgia also hit a sudden new peak at #2! The 1975 continue to inch towards the top as "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)" moves up one to #3. Katie Pruitt's "Expectations" falls one spot to #4 and Jessie Ware closes out the Top 5 as she holds with "The Kill" at #5.

Three songs enter the Top 10 this week, one of which is a re-entry from The Killers' "Caution" because of the album boost. The other two songs are critically acclaimed singles "Aries" by Gorillaz featuring Peter Hook and Georgia and "Kyoto" by Phoebe Bridgers. We also have Top 20 entries from The Chicks and Carly Rae Jepsen. Three songs enter the chart, with the highest debut coming from The Killers with "My God" featuring Weyes Blood. This makes The Killers the second act this year to chart 4 different songs at the same time (with the first being Tame Impala).

The Killers' "My Own Soul's Warning" spends its second week at the top spot, giving The Killers a total of 15 weeks spent at #1 this year! Could "My Own Soul's Warning" have a #1 run similar to "Caution"? It's a tougher battle this time around because the Top 5 is full of strong competition! The 1975 are not far behind with "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)" hitting #2, making it their highest peaking song. "The Kill" by Jessie Ware continues its fast rise up to #3 this week. Katie Pruitt's "Expectations" holds at #4 and "Aries" by Gorillaz featuring Peter Hook and Georgia rises four spots to #5.

Only one song enters the Top 10 this week, in the form of "Summer Love" by Carly Rae Jepsen. The Airborne Toxic Event aren't too far away though with "Come On Out" jumping to #11. Linkin Park's "She Couldn't" also continues its climb up the charts into the Top 15. One song debuts this week and it comes from the artist behind one of this year's #1 hits.

The 1975's "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)" and Jessie Ware's "The Kill" both hold strong at #s 2 and 3, respectively. Both are catching up to The Killers, along with "Aries" by Gorillaz featuring Peter Hook and Georgia, which is up one to #4 this week. Katie Pruitt rounds out the Top 5 with "Expectations".

On top of The Killers holding at #1, they also have another song entering the Top 10 as the Weyes Blood collab "My God" makes a massive jump to #9 on its third week. In addition, Bring Me The Horizon earn their third Top 10 hit this year with "Parasite Eve". Excluding "My God", four additional songs enter the Top 20 this week, meaning a few songs took some hits. The Killers' "My Own Soul's Warning" spends a fourth week at the top, giving the band a cumulative total of 17 weeks at #1 this year. The rest of the Top 5 remains static, but point-wise, the other songs are definitely catching up to "My Own Soul's Warning" and it could possibly be overtaken in the near future.

Linkin Park's "She Couldn't" is the only song entering the Top 10 this week. This week has a rather inactive chart as the only Top 20 entry is a re-entry from Mavenne's "Faraway Far". However, we do get four debuts, with the highest one coming from the latest single from Kylie Minogue. We also have a new song from the band behind one of this year's biggest hits. The other two entrants come from an artist who has another song charting right now and a new artist.

Katie Pruitt closes out the Top 5 as "Expectations" continues to hold its spot.

Daughtry enters the Top 10 this week with their latest single "World On Fire". We also have Top 20 entries from Jessie Ware and the newest from Nothing But Thieves. We have a new #1 this week with "Aries" by Gorillaz featuring Peter Hook and Georgia earning the title! Jessie Ware's "The Kill" falls only one spot to #2. Katie Pruitt holds steady at #3 with "Expectations". It is currently the oldest song in the Top 10, almost reaching 20 weeks. The Killers move back up one spot to #4 with their #1 hit "My Own Soul's Warning" and Phoebe Bridgers closes out the Top 5 as "Kyoto" rises up one to #5.

Two songs enter the Top 10 this week, one of which being Kylie Minogue's "Say Something". This is her first Top 10 single and she still has another song, "Magic", in Bubbling Under. Nothing But Thieves' "Impossible" also enters the Top 10, being the Biggest Rise of the Week for the second week in a row and the group's third Top 10 single this year. Jessie Ware's "The Kill" has reclaimed the #1 spot for an overall third week at the top! "The Kill" is the first and only song so far this year to have its cumulative total of weeks at #1 not be consecutive. Last week's #1 song, "Aries" by Gorillaz, falls one spot to #2 this week. Katie Pruitt's "Expectations" continues to hold at #3 and "My Own Soul's Warning" from The Killers also holds at #4. Kylie Minogue closes out the Top 5 as "Say Something" rises three spots to #5.

The only Top 10 entrant this week is a re-entry from The Killers and Weyes Blood's "My God". Only one Top 20 entry as well, this one from Perfume Genius with "On The Floor". Two songs debut this week, the higher of which being Dua Lipa's "Hallucinate", her first song to chart here since "Physical" had a short life. Our other debut is from Brandy with "Borderline". Meanwhile, the Tame Impala track of the same name continues its insane chart run into its 65th week!

"My God" by The Killers featuring Weyes Blood makes its first ever Top 5 appearance rising 6 spots to #4. Rounding out the Top 5 is Wild Front with "Selhurst Park", jumping 8 spots to #5.

2020 - Week #51: December 20, 2020



Bring Me The Horizon's "Teardrops" manages to remain at the top spot for a second week in a row! Jessie Ware's "What's Your Pleasure?" holds at #2, slowly becoming a stronger contender to take over the #1 spot. Kylie Minogue makes a two-spot rebound to #3 with "Say Something". Perfume Genius holds at #4 with "On The Floor" and Nothing But Thieves close out the Top 5 with their #1 hit "Impossible"!

Royal Blood's "Trouble Coming" and Fiona Apple's "Under The Table" are brand new to the Top 10 this week. And since it's the week of Christmas, "Hallelujah" by Carrie Underwood and John Legend has also entered the Top 10, though this one will very likely not stick around very long. Gorillaz enter the Top 20 with the biggest rise of the week with "The Valley Of The Pagans". We also have a Top 20 re-entry from Michael Kiwanuka and new Top 20 entries from MARINA, Kylie Minogue, and Katie Pruitt. 2020 - Week #52: December 27, 2020



Bring Me The Horizon spend a third week at the top with "Teardrops"! After opening up 2020 with "nihilist blues" at #1, they officially close 2020 with "Teardrops" at #1. Perfume Genius' "On The Floor" hits a new peak at #2 pushing Jessie Ware's "What's Your Pleasure?" down to #3. "Impossible" by Nothing But Thieves moves back up one to #4 and after Christmas week last week, Carrie Underwood and John Legend's "Hallelujah" has entered the Top 5 at #5.

No new songs in the Top 10, though we do have a re-entry from "Strange Timez" by Gorillaz and The Cure's Robert Smith. Jessie Ware's "Adore You" enters the Top 20 on its second week on the chart. Not much movement aside from that. Since it's the last week of the year, there's not as much movement this week as there normally is.

2020 - Year-End Top 50



With the end of 2020 comes the official Top 50 chart of the year. These songs are the 50 songs that performed the best on my chart during the 2020 tracking period, which was from December 22, 2019 to December 13, 2020. Points accumulated from the final two weeks of 2020 will count towards the Top 50 of 2021.

Individual reveals for the Top 50 were done on this separate thread. These individual reveals are where I go into great detail about each song and give thoughts about their chart performances. That thread is a lot more thorough while this post is just a summary of the list.

2021: Week #1: January 3, 2021



Welcome to the first chart of 2021! We open up the year with a new #1 from Jessie Ware with "What's Your Pleasure?", her second #1 hit on this chart after "The Kill". Perfume Genius holds steady at #2 with "On The Floor". Of Monsters and Men hit a new peak at #3 with the latest single "Visitor". Last week's #1 song, "Teardrops" by Bring Me The Horizon falls three spots to #4 and Gorillaz closes out the Top 5 with "The Valley Of The Pagans" as it climbs into the Top 10 for the first time.

In addition to "The Valley Of The Pagans", MARINA's "Man's World" also makes its first appearance in the Top 10 this week. We also have Top 20 entries from Miley Cyrus and Rina Sawayama. Carrie Underwood and John Legend's "Hallelujah" takes a massive hit this week as Christmas season has ended. For the second week in a row, no songs debut on the chart, but that will definitely change next week!

2021 - Week #2: January 10, 2021



As we move into the second week of January, Jessie Ware holds at #1 for a second week with "What's Your Pleasure?"! Perfume Genius continues to hold at #2 with "On The Floor" and Of Monsters and Men's "Visitor" holds at #3. Gorillaz move up one spot this week to #4 with "The Valley Of The Pagans" featuring Beck. Kylie Minogue also re-enters the Top 5 with "Say Something".

Two new songs enter the Top 10 this week: Rina Sawayama's "STFU!" and Jessie Ware's "Adore You", both of which were the last two debuts of 2020. There's also a lot more going on in this week's chart as we have seven debuts, two of which are already up in the Top 20! A few chart hits have dropped out this week including Tame Impala's very successful "Lost In Yesterday" and "Borderline", with the latter spending a record-setting 76 weeks on the chart.

Perfume Genius' "On The Floor" falls two spots to #4 and MARINA closes out the Top 5 with her latest single "Man's World".

In the bottom half of the Top 10, we see re-entries from Fiona Apple's "Under The Table" and Gorillaz and Robert Smith's "Strange Timez". Not much else interesting stuff going on this week aside from having two debuts from well-known alt groups.

But not only that, she also has the #2 song with "Adore You", making her the first act since Lady A in late 2019 to occupy both the #1 and #2 positions. Perfume Genius rises back up one spot to #3 with "On The Floor". Rina Sawayama earns her first ever Top 5 hit with "STFU!" and Jason Isbell closes out the Top 5 with "Overseas", making its first Top 5 appearance.

Aside from "Overseas", no new songs enter the Top 10 this week and we only have one Top 20 entry from Awolnation. Not much interesting movement this week, but we do have four debuts.

Jessie Ware has officially replaced herself at the #1 spot this week as "Adore You" takes the crown for the first time. This is the first time an artist replaces themselves at #1 since Lady A's "Ocean" replaced "What If I Never Get Over You" at #1 in 2019. After 4 weeks at #1, "What's Your Pleasure?" falls to #3, but "Overseas" by Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit has hit a new peak at #2 and has been rising fairly quickly on the chart. Rina Sawayama holds at #4 with "STFU!" and Of Monsters and Men close out the Top 5 with "Visitor".

No new songs enter the Top 10, only re-entries from "Teardrops" by Bring Me The Horizon and "Strange Timez" by Gorillaz featuring Robert Smith. A couple of last week's debuts have already hit the Top 20. We have a little more movement this week overall, but only one song makes its debut from Troye Sivan and Kacey Musgraves, both familiar faces on this chart.

We have a new #1 this week in the form of "Overseas" by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, making it Isbell's first ever #1 hit! Last week's #1 song, "Adore You" by Jessie Ware, falls one spot this week to #2. Jessie Ware also holds at #3 with "What's Your Pleasure?". Gorillaz and Robert Smith's "Strange Timez" makes it first Top 5 appearance this week at #4 and Of Monsters and Men close out the Top 5 with "Visitor" holding at #5.

Only one new song enters the Top 10 this week: Michael Kiwanuka's "Final Days", giving him his third Top 10 hit after "Hero" and "Rolling" last year. We have Top 20 entries from The Strokes, Gorillaz, and H.E.R., with a few songs also taking some big hits this week. Two songs make their debuts this week, both of which are dance tracks, as we replace two of last year's biggest hits. Both songs spent an equal amount of time on the chart and both peaked in the Top 3.
