The weeks go by and Panic! At The Disco is still blocking the top 2 on the Hot Rock Songs chart. Soon it will mark a whole year like this - an impressive achievement if it wasn't for the reflection of the truly tragic state of rock music in the mainstream (if only they allowed "Take What You Want" to chart...) Not just "Take What You Want" but also anything by Billie Eilish - I don't understand how something could top the alternative rock chart but not be considered a "rock" song. Also in big news for long-running number ones on genre charts: after 69 (heh-heh) weeks, "Happier" finally got toppled from number one on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs by "RITMO (Bad Boys for Life)"

I'm also surprised Billboard isn't allowing Don't Start Now on the dance/electronic chart. It should certainly be in there by merit and would have spent several weeks at #1 there already.

I wouldnât believe that bastile would have another top 5 hit and have that be their biggest hit with some guy named marshmello of all things and that black eyed peas made some sort of comeback

Mac Miller Earns First Top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart
1/23/2020 by Trevor Anderson
The late Mac Miller earns his first top 10 success on Billboardâs Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as âGood Newsâ debuts at No. 10 on the list dated Jan. 25.
âNewsâ also starts with a No. 4 entrance on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart through 22.9 million U.S. on-demand streams in the week ending Jan. 16, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It concurrently kicks off at No. 6 on the R&B/Hop Digital Song Sales chart thanks to its 8,000 downloads sold in same tracking period.
The single arrived Jan. 10, one week before Circles, the rapperâs first posthumous album, was released. Miller, born Malcolm McCormick, died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol in his Studio City, CA, home at age 26 in September 2018. His death occurred just days before the release of Swimming, the rapperâs last album released during his lifetime.
Millerâs parents announced Circles on Jan. 8 through a post on the late rapperâs Instagram page, calling it a âcompanion albumâ to Swimming and praised producer Jon Brion, who contributed to Swimming, who âdedicated himself to finishing Circles based on his time and conversations with Malcolm.â
Before âNews,â Millerâs best showing on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart was the No. 18 high of âSelf Careâ in September 2018. âNewsâ marks his 11th chart entry, dating to his chart breakthrough, âS.D.S.,â which entered and peaked at No. 41 in May 2013.
Beyond its top 10 achievement on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, âNewsâ begins at No. 8 on the Hot Rap Songs ranking and at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I guess somebody from Billboard read my complaint about the Hot 100 Spotify not being updated. It is finally updated.
