I had never heard Break My Stride until just now and wow, I didn't know how much Puffy had sampled it for Can Nobody Hold Me Down. I feel like most people know Puffy over the sample though which is crazy. P-Diddy really was the late-90s DJ Khaled in blatantly sampling popular songs. I remember Break My Stride but I'm old.

I'm kinda dreading Jonas Brothers potentially becoming the new Maroon 5. If I wanted a pop band of siblings, Echosmith is right there people. Lonely Generation came out a few weeks ago and it's pretty good. Hell, I know a lot of people don't really like the song, but I think Cool Kids is an underrated hit and better than most of the singles the Jonas Brothers have put out since they came back.
Echosmith is also better than most of the bands that big in 2014: The Neighbourhood, Rixton, MKTO, American Authors, MAGIC!, even Bastille.

Mac's album is holding steadier, but Em seems to have a steady hit with Godzilla (eww ). Also, Yummy finally drops below 1M. Expect it to be gone sooner rather than later.

SPOTIFY US:
Day 1:
Eminem - 21,399,300 Mac Miller - 18,850,844 Halsey - 7,987,610
Day 2:
Eminem - 16,755,208 (-4,644,092) -22% Mac Miller - 12,521,719 (-6,329,125) -34%
Halsey - 5,630,224 (-2,357,386) -30%
Note only 15/16 songs are used for Halsey on day 2 because 1 song isn't among top 200 so the 5.6 million is missing one song which did less than 250K streams.

Life Is Good seems to be in decline on Spotify: yesterday's numbers were by far its lowest to date, down 700k compared to last Saturday.

Life Is Good seems to be in decline on Spotify: yesterday's numbers were by far its lowest to date, down 700k compared to last Saturday. It lost a lot globally, but in the US, it's loss was right in line with losses on almost every song. Plus, it's still holding steady at #2 on Apple Music. I think it'll also lose a lot in tomorrow's update, we'll wait to see how well it rebounds on Monday's update.

How is Eminem’s new album doing in comparison to “Revival” or, better yet, “Kamikaze” on Spotify?
Has it had a stronger two days than “Kamikaze” or slightly weaker thus far?
Are we looking at one of his songs debuting in the top five of the Hot 100?

I'll be surprised if JoBros single becomes a notable hit (top 10 or better). Their comeback hype has definitely run its course.
For boybands like that it's best to do a comeback once every few years, and go completely off the grid until the next comeback. That's why Sucker was so huge out the gate. Once a boyband announces a reunion and does the first drop it will be a big deal, but usually, the effect wares off by the end of the year.
Backstreet Boys 2005 comeback album did decently, then their next 3 in 2007/2009/2013 bombed, then they took a lengthy hiatus and the 2019 comeback did better.
Boybands in general become very big nostalgia acts, and similar to when an old TV series makes a revival, it generates huge press first season back, but then it kinda takes a nosedive. The Full House reboot, Roseanne reboot, Jersey Shore reboot, etc are good examples. Musically, I remember Dr. Dre's 2015 comeback album did huge numbers first week (near 300k) then kinda completely nosedived after. 20/20 Experience was one of the better crafted nostalgia comebacks, but still it was mostly dead by the time the Part 2 era rolled around at the end of the year. Nostalgia comebacks are very short-lived, you have to know how to capitalize on them short-term.

The BL music video could've been released on a Friday but I'm happy that The Weeknd didn't give up on Blinding Lights.

Nostalgia comebacks are very short-lived, you have to know how to capitalize on them short-term. I wouldn't call Never Gone (BSB's 2005 album) a 'successful' comeback tbh. In isolation it was decent, but in context they went from an 8x platinum album to 1x platinum and only had one minor top 20 hit. They were basically written off as being out of place in a world where urban and pop-rock had taken over during their absence. It didn't help that all of their bubblegum counterparts had moved on from said bubblegum (Britney, Christina, solo Justin, hell even JC's flop album was on some other wave) which made it even more apparent that BSB's sound was stuck in the past. The 2017-2019 comeback was a success for the very reason you stated though: they were launching their residency and pretty much all residencies sell themselves on nostalgia. That there was new music eventually attached to it was incidental. JoBros are trying to establish themselves as a radio act and I won't really knock them for it bc lbr, they're doing better together than apart even if nothing after Sucker has really nailed it to the wall. I do think they have the fanbase to justify continued releases and touring and I consider that enough of a win for them. If you're relying on nostalgia to bring you back, touring or a residency is what your goal should always be bc the hits won't be easy to come by. Justin's wasn't a nostalgic comeback...at first. I think people were genuinely ready to treat his as a legitimate return and not just a cute blast from the past, but he completely dropped the ball by blocking his own momentum with a stupid rollout. 20/20 part I only got two singles and maybe six months before he rushed into a part II that was not nearly as well conceived or received. He shouldn't have rushed it.

tbf those 2 singles were really good and nobody hated him afterwards that didn't before. If he had done the same type of music upon his double comeback in 2018 I think he'd be able to continue that type of success into this decade

Are we looking at one of his songs debuting in the top five of the Hot 100? From what I can tell, its aiming to do much poorer than Kamikaze in terms of album bomb on the hot 100. Maybe something like 9 songs on the hot 100. That's just a guess tho.
