London-based pop artist Rina Sawayama has announced her debut full-length, SAWAYAMA. The album comes out on April 17 via Dirty Hit. Along with the LP news, Sawayama has shared her new song “Comme des Garçons (Like the Boys).”

I haven't heard Commes Des Garcons yet, but I hope it's better than "STFU!" since it really wasn't my cup of tea. Excited for the album though. The tracklist looks great.

Gave this a listen, and it's definitely deserving of the early praises it got. A great album from start to finish.
They made the right decision by leading off with XS since I think its the song with greatest hit potential from the album. Also, it's really great to hear J-Pop-ish tracks with modern western pop production

This is a killer album. Very J-Pop influenced, especially that distorted guitar (gives me Utada vibes) in a lot of the tracks.

This and Fiona Apple's album are my top two contenders for AOTY for me personally, a stunning mix of JPOP and JROCK influence!

I was super shocked by how strong this album was. Why? I don’t know. I liked all of the singles, so I should’ve been prepared, but wow.
“Love Me 4 Me” is full of sexy, Janet-esque swagger, complete with a spoken word refrain. “Paradisin” is sugary sweet ecastasy. On “Who’s Gonna Save U Now?”, we FINALLY get to here Rina go offff vocally, and it’s f**king amazing. That song is so commanding. “Bad Friend” is pretty much perfect - I loooove the synth intro and the reverb soaked choir is so, so good. Also, Lauren Aquilina co-wrote “Tokyo Love Hotel”?!? WHAT?!
This won’t get any Grammy love because she’s not on a major label & doesn’t chart singles, but I’m currently crossing my fingers for a nom regardless.

Love tracks 6 to 11. Comme Des Garcon is also a great track. Snakeskin's production is great but the lyrics are a miss for me, personally.
I thought I really enjoyed XS but I kind of got tired of it.
Solid debut album!

First time ever hearing of this artist was seeing the reviews and then watching some of my favorite YouTubers react to it. This is strong. She is a really good singer and the production is interesting, but still very pop. Chosen Family is the clear highlight. It stands heads and shoulders above the rest, but it also reminds me of Gaga vocally (with the theater kid theatrics turned down). I also really like XS, Bad Friend, Who's Gonna Save You Now, Tokyo Love Hotel, and Snakeskin. The praise is hyperbolic, but I also kinda get it. This girl hits different.

Gave this album a spin yesterday, and WOW it's so good!!!!!!
Although, this remix of "Comme des garçon" is even better than the album version, IMHO, but I'm a sucker for 90s House vibes.

Currently obsessed with the album. My highlights are "Dynasty", "Bad Friend" & "Who's Gonna Save U Now?". The latter is most probably my favourite song - she went OFF on that song. The album is so strong overall. I love the rock influence on the album too, it gives it a really nice edge.

This album is absolutely incredible. She has some very unique production choices and her vocals are outstanding. My favourites now would be: Bad Friend, Love Me 4 Me, Comme Des Garçons (Like The Boys), XS, Tokyo Love Hotel and Chosen Family. Honestly, there isn't one and song and even my least fav "Akasaka Sad" is interesting production wise and still grabbed my attention. The high critc scores are definitely well deserved.
