Honorable Mentions: Set 2/10HM #6: OneRepublic - "All The Right Moves"Year: 2010In late 2009 going into 2010, we got "All The Right Moves", the lead single from OneRepublic's album Waking Up. These guys haven't exactly had the best evolution over the years, but every now and then they'll put out something good. They started out strong though with their first couple albums and singles, including this song, which is catchy and has an infectious chorus. It's not my favorite of the Waking Up singles, but it's one that I still come back to every now and then to remember how much I loved OneRepublic back in the day. HM #7: Big Data featuring Joywave - "Dangerous" Year: 2014I have memories of when I used to hear this song on SiriusXM Alt Nation. It took a few listens for me to get into, but the production on here is amazing. It's unique and it's catchy. I love this song's chorus. I don't revisit it all that often, but it's a thoroughly enjoyable listen from start to end and I think it deserved to at least debut on the Hot 100. HM #8: Bridgit Mendler - "Hurricane" Year: 2013Oh the nostalgia this song gives me. I didn't even know this song's title or artist for the longest time. I just remember hearing it a lot, particularly the chorus. It's so catchy and fun. I really like her voice. I'm not exactly huge on the "rapping" in the verses, but honestly it doesn't even matter to me because the nostalgia factor here is so strong that I can't help but come back to this often. I'm surprised this wasn't a bigger hit because I seriously used to hear it a lot. HM #9: Tinie Tempah featuring Zara Larsson - "Girls Like" Year: 2016I've only heard a few songs from Tinie Tempah, but I thought all of them were really good, including this one. This came around not long after my massive search to try to find "Written In The Stars" without knowing the title/artist. It also came around not long after Zara Larsson's big breakthrough with "Never Forget You", which I liked at the time but I don't think it aged that well. So I was hooked on the collab and I think it turned out really well. Great production and catchy all the way through. The verses are solid and I really like Zara's chorus. HM #10: The Wanted - "We Own The Night" Year: 2013The Wanted had their big breakthrough in 2012 with "Glad You Came", which is solid but doesn't hold up great. Then we got "Chasing The Sun", which was improvement but not as memorable as it should be. But then they scored big with "We Own The Night", which is exactly what these guys needed. Their other singles fall flat at certain points, but this one is a fun jam all the way through. Great tempo and really catchy chorus. I think these guys have good voices. It's a shame that this wasn't that big, but it's easily the best thing I've heard from them. That concludes the second set of honorable mentions. The list will continue with #180 very soon!
