Apparantly there is a new “Now That’s What I Call Music” out and it’s the 73rd edition! Who would’ve thought! Are people still buying these and do people take the time to stream them? I would say Literally nobody is, but they keep making em so there must be somebody doing so

Okay its official, Megan is now my favorite freshman from 2019's XXL, B.I.T.C.H just proves she is versatile and it is a great song. I'm really happy with these female rapper's latest songs, Doja and Megan are gonna be some hot names in 2020, and i'm expecting a Megan/Lizzo collab soon (Megan already confirmed it) I'm glad that we're getting some more female rappers nowadays, it's a nice change of pace to see more than one lady in the game.

I think it's funny that arguably the two most notable releases are both songs by female rappers with the word "Bitch" in the title
Anyways both are fantastic and I really hope they both do well, Megan's team seems to be actually promoting this track so it should be just fine, I'm putting most of my energy into Boss Bitch right now because that song is AMAZINGGG, Doja does 2011-2012 Azealia Banks very well

NOW! Compilations are completely useless in this day and age, it is essentially paying for a hits playlist you could follow for free on Spotify/Apple Music. They sold a boatload during the period where physical singles were dying because they were a medium for people who didn’t want to buy full albums but still wanted to own hit singles on the radio, and still somewhat made sense in the digital era as buying them combined was cheaper than buying all those hits individually (especially UK’s NOW compilations, which would be 50+ songs for a similar price as US compilations).
I assume most people still buying them in this day are collectors who it’s just tradition to keep buying them.

I don’t think so, Iann Dior, Lalala, and HITR are on it, and I’m pretty sure no Soccer Mom in the world would listen to all 3 of those songs. Also a weird inclusion on it is Collide off of the Queen and Slim soundtrack. It’s not a single, has absolutely no traction any where, and is not even featured in the movie. Although it is one of my personal favorite songs right now so I guess that’s cool

Y'know if you told me two years ago the rapper who made MOOO! would be charting I would've said yes but since Doja Cat's worst songs keep charting, can TikTok discover Go to Town so that neither Say So, Candy and Juicy are her biggest hits? I can so though that I've finally reached junior music nerd status when I can say I heard of the artist before they charted on mainstream charts and that their hit song is far from their best. Or maybe Nintendhoe too, that song is a bop.

Someone you loved is not only gonna make the top 10 this year, but it might be high on the decade list and if it gets close to the most weeks in the top 10, then the all time list is a thing for it and honestly why is this happening :(

For some reason, those best selling compilation seem to actually outsell the non-compilation albums in the UK. It seems weird to me that compilation albums and soundtracks there have a separate compilations chart and can't chart in the other album chart.

NOW! album sales have declined heavily in the UK the past few years (due to the streaming era ofcourse) and they aren't outdoing the top-releases as much anymore. They used to sell past 1 million copies, I know recently they have been struggling to do 300k. UK has them chart separately because their sales were so huge that a lot of the year they would've hogged up #1.

Godzilla might be a legit hit, a fanmade video for it which is just the song over the Darkness music video got 1.2 million views in a day. Interested to see if it stays in the top 10 this week.

Even though it's a great song, Rap God has had a terrible influence on the rap game in inspiring white rappers to think that rapping fast is what makes a song good, including Eminem on Godzilla.

Not gonna lie, if its radio gains don't halt soon, I think Circles could have a chance at breaking the most weeks in the top 10 record.

I know it won't be for another week but do you think we'll see returns for Shakira and J-Lo after the Superbowl?
There wasn't much impact last year beyond a brief sales push for Girls Like You but I wonder if we could see Hips Don't Lie return
