Blinding Lights just became The Weekndโs first number one here in Australia, being the first song (other than Mariah on Christmas for a week) to dethrone Dance Monkeys 24 weeks at number one.

How did Dance Monkey have 24 weeks at number #1 that had to hit back in Nov./Dec? Also to whoever is Australian or follows the Australia charts was this song the most weeks for #1 in it's chart history?

The previous record for most weeks at #1 in Australia was 15 weeks set by "Shape of You" in 2017. Prior to that, the record-holder was ABBA's "Fernando" which hit 14 weeks at #1 in 1976. "Dance Monkey" obliterated the record in Australia.

Whatโs the longest running number one on a national chart ever? I remembered a Swedish song got 20+ weeks (I checked, and โYes Sir, I Can Boogieโ got 22 weeks in โ77.) Is Dance Monkeyโs Australian run the biggest now?

Genre charts probably don't count, but I think Dance Monkey is the record for national charts

The North Korean national anthem has been #1 over there since 1948.

The quality is there. It's just that, for me, The Box is not that kind of instant to Filipino listeners. I think that it would take a viral video with the song on it for this blow up here. I know this is off topic but I'm curious, is "Versace on the Floor" by Bruno Mars considered one of his biggest songs by the average Filipino? It was a big hit there (chart-wise) so I'm wondering how it stacks up compared to the rest of his singles. Yeah, "Versace On The Floor" was one of Bruno's best songs when it comes to Filipinos (like me), because in the today's generation, teens are more into the type of love songs or soothing in the ears like "Versace On The Floor". Too bad the Philippine Billboard Hot 100 was discontinued though, I would like to know how long "Old Town Road" would've spent there as #1. As for "The Box", yep insen_13 pointed it out correctly, it would take a viral video with "The Box" on the background made by a Filipino to blow up for people. And in general, songs of "The Box" tend to be played less in the radio. {For the Filipino posters out there...} Which radio station do you commonly listen into: 99.5 Play FM or 107.5 Wish FM? Because I think 99.5 Play FM would play "The Box" more often than 107.5 Wish FM can.

They play a wide variety of artists like Kendrick, Childish Gambino, The 1975, BROCKHAMPTON, CHVRCHES also, I've even new music acts thanks to them Fickle Friends and Carly Rae Jepsen. I was actually introduced to the greatest that was EMOTION thanks to the title track and Run Away With Me being played on the radio.

Gotta say, the rollout of songs for the Suicide Soundtrack has not made me for both the movie and the rest of the soundtrack.
How is it despite the popularity of superhero movies over the years, only Black Panther was able to make a soundtrack work as a soundtrack and a standalone album? And even then, it's a 6/10 if you compare to the rest of Kendrick's discography.

One of the segments of that station was "The Playlist", where it's like a Billboard Hot 100 and they give out Playlist Breakouts (basically fresh and new songs) for people to listen to. "The Sound" and "Love Me" were the band's standout songs for me.

I'll also try to check out 93.1 since their playlists seem pretty cool.

Which year though, because I recall listening to it most of the time in 2014-2016, with the variety of non-Billboard Hot 100 songs that I listen to shape up the variety of my Personal Chart within those years.

4. ROXANNE by Arizona Zervas 1,318,635 ( +31,232) Damn at Roxanne gaining despite all the Sunday hits! Ya love to see it. Coming for that #2 peak I don't really listen to radio anymore since I have Spotify with me but I listened to 99.5 a lot before. I'll also try to check out 93.1 since their playlists seem pretty cool. Wow, that's cool, 99.5 Play FM was also the radio station you're into the past. Around 2016-2017 any song I knew came from the radio. Then in 2017 I got a Spotify premium account so I barely listen nowadays

Is Dance Monkeyโs Australian run the biggest now? As far as I am concerned, Mariah Carey's cover of "I Want To Know What Love Is" spent 27 weeks on top of the Brazilian charts (the power of being featured on a tele-novela). I think this might be the longest running number one on a national all-genre chart.

^Make that You Say, currently at 70 weeks at #1 in Hot Christian Songs. Israel Kamakawiwoสปole's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" has spent a grand total of 323 weeks atop the World Digital Song Sales chart. Even with the rise of kpop, it has consistently returned to the top after starting there when the chart launched in 2010, having been #1 as recently as two weeks ago.

Relatively speakin, Heartless has done absolutely nothing internationally compared to Blinding Lights which is a smash. Heartless is next to Shallow (released in September 2018) on Spotify chart globally.
