Don’t Start Now at number one is the only thing that can redeem 2020 at this point Either "Don't Start Now" or "Blinding Lights", but I'm rooting more for the former because The Weeknd is already dominating nearly the entirety of Europe + Australia, and a #1 single would really push Dua further into the American mainstream pop industry, as she rightfully deserves. I mean there are multiple things that need to be done to get music out of the shitter this year like making good rock music popular again (not fake alt like Trampoline and Broken), getting these indistinguishable SoundCloud rappers off the charts, leaving sappy ballads in the past, etc. There’s too much good music out right now for Roddy Ricch and Future to be in the top two. Dua Lipa and The Weeknd at number one will remedy the fact that we let that happen.

Don’t Start Now at number one is the only thing that can redeem 2020 at this point. Hot Girl Bummer is 10 times better musically than Hot Girl Summer. Even if you don’t like it, you have to admit it. It may be whiny but at least it isn’t thotty like HGS.

Roddy Ricch is probably one of the most interesting rappers we had in a while. I’ll be honest. I haven’t even listened to The Box aside from snippets of the chorus but it didn’t draw me in because the beat sounds the sounds the same as every other modern rap song I’ve heard.

Could anyone enlighten me about the type of music they made, and how they were perceived at the time. I swear, this name is just a Todd In The Shadows joke waiting to happen.

You should definitely check out "Ballin" - which won me over on Roddy Ricch and his abilities. I wish it had gotten "The Box" 's success instead, even if "The Box" is decent enough in its own right.

Looking back at last years Top 10 it was not as bad as thought it was. I'll even say last years top 10 is better than this upcoming top 10.

I can't help but wonder how much better Halsey's current career state would be had she released an album during that time in 2019, when Without Me/Eastside were both smashing and top 10.
Not to mention if Graveyard/You Should Be Sad were pushed around that time instead of Nightmare...

I’m fairly sure that for Manic to take that long she had to have scrapped the album and started over at some point

^At least, You Should Be Sad has found success elsewhere reaching #12 in the UK and #5 in Australia.

^I'm not really sure about Yikes going #1 on Hot Digital Songs, but I think its 3:1 lead last weekend was enough to beat Lose Yourself and Dance Monkey.

Personally, I only dislike the top 2, "Without Me" is meh, and I utterly adore the others to varying degrees (especially, "High Hopes", "Happier", and "Sunflower"), and they indubitably defined the sound of 2019 alongside "Old Town Road". And even for said top 2, I can still see their appeal, unlike songs such as "10,000 Hours" or "Memories". Still, in 2020's favour, "Don't Start Now" and "Circles" are God tier songs. Pity the top 10 has to be so inconsistent in quality.

This top 10 are mostly leftovers from last year that won't go away(I love Circles but it is a leftover from last year) outside of (The Box,Life Is Good, Don't Start Now,sadly ROXANNE).

What's keeping someone you loved in the top ten? Are the songs outside of the top ten just super weak ?

I think Circles beating the record of most weeks in top ten is practically given. It hasn't even really decreased in points since it was #1. Hope you're right cuz that's a song that truly deserves it. The 3 way tie has to go, I'm happy Sunflower is a part of it but Girls Like You should not continue to hold that record. Shape Of You I'm mostly indifferent towards but would still rather see Circles have it.

What's keeping someone you loved in the top ten? Are the songs outside of the top ten just super weak ? #3 on the Radio Songs Chart and still top 20 in sales (#18) and streaming (#19). It's still strong and I don't think it's gonna leave the top 10 for at least the next two weeks.
