BRUNO MARS RETURNS TO HIS LAS VEGAS STRIP RESIDENCY IN JULYGrammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Bruno Mars became the first Las Vegas Strip resident headliner to announce a comeback today. Mars will return to Vegas for Fourth of July weekend at Park MGM, set for concerts at Park Theater on July 3, 4, 9, 10, 23 and 24. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 30. “The opportunity to relaunch our Las Vegas entertainment offerings with Bruno Mars, one of the music industry's iconic superstars, is a moment we've all been anticipating for more than a year,” George Kliavkoff, MGM Resorts' President of Entertainment & Sports, said in a statement. “Our guests will be thrilled to hear he is returning to Park MGM to do what he does best—entertain with that high energy and passion that is unmatched on the stage.” Mars began his residency at the 5,300-seat Park Theater in December 2016 and last performed there in early March, 2020, just before the pandemic shut down the Strip. He donated $1 million last year to an emergency relief fund for MGM Resorts employees. Mars returned to the pop charts in recent weeks with “Leave the Door Open,” a song from his new Silk Sonic side project with rapper, singer and musician Anderson .Paak who has also performed in recent years at Park MGM at the On the Record nightclub. July is shaping up to be a blockbuster music month on the Strip as Usher is set to debut his new residency show at the Colosseum on Caesars Palace on July 16. The other headliner with earlier dates on the calendar is Barry Manilow at the 1,600-seat Westgate International Theater returning on June 10 at the off-Strip Westgate Las Vegas resort.

The 100 Greatest Song Bridges of the 21st Century: Staff Picks
61. BRUNO MARS FEAT. CARDI B, "FINESSE" (REMIX) How It Starts: "Fellas grab your ladies if your lady fine" The Part You Definitely Remember: Bruno playing Cupid, giving advice to both ladies and fellas on how to get it goin’ on ("Tell her she the one, she the one for life"). Why It Works: This romantic interlude balances the streetwise edginess of Cardi’s rap segments, leading perfectly back into Cardi's "Yeah, we got it goin' on, got it goin' on!" chant. – PAUL GREIN

GUESS WHO'S BACK ATOP THE BILLBOARD HOT 100? I'll give you two guesses! Not to be greedy but right before the #1 announcement I was actually hoping that the song would cool off so we could get a summer jam.

As much success as this song is getting, I'm ready for the next one.

I agree, Leave the Door Open has Grammy smash written all over it. I'm sure I just jinxed everything. 2022 Grammy Preview: Could Bruno Mars Win Record Of The Year A Third Time?"If (more like when) “Leave The Door Open” does earn a Record of the Year nomination, it will be Mars’ seventh time competing for that trophy. That’s one of the greatest accumulations of nods ever, which isn’t shocking, as most acts are lucky to even be considered just once. It will mark .Paak’s first time in that field. Come 2022, if “Leave The Door Open” actually wins Record of the Year, Mars will score his third trophy, as he previously took home the honor for his own “24k Magic” and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk,” which he was featured on. If he does hear his name called that night, Mars will become just the second artist to claim the category a trio of times, as Paul Simon has done so before. It’s too early to suggest that “Leave The Door Open” is the presumptive winner, but Mars has reason to start prepping for what may be another golden evening at the Grammys."

Getting strong "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" vibes with Bruno's look in this picture. Long time since I've last seen him wearing a fedora - maybe intentional given the recent achievement, but a welcome throwback regardless 🥰
