Remember when blurred lines had like over 250M radio audiences.. ah 2013.. truly the peak of radio lol i wonder if that much radio alone w/o sales or streaming a song like that would still be number 1. That explains why so many 2013-2014 songs are diamond. Massive radio audiences and inescapable spamming. That’s the one thing about the streaming era I like...radio is dying (not fast enough). If only the Hot 100 would make it count less that’d be great. Radio doesn't count toward certifications. But I do think it help songs sell a lot at the time. If I remember correctly, it was around that time that digital sales managed to be close to their peak. |

WHAT'S POPPIN is going to be huge the same way Suge was inescapable last year. I'm fine with Jack Harlow replacing G-Eazy and Logic in terms of mainstream white rap. He's at least got more personality than those two.

It Looks like justin album or even boogie's won't do damage on the charts which means songs like I Don't Care and Only Human will live to see another week on charts . Joy... 😤 We need to get rid of these 2019 summer leftovers before they get locked on the Year-End. Nobody is actively listening to these songs on such a mass scale as the charts seem to suggest, and radio is the only medium still shoving them down our ears. Billboard made such a mistaking in allowing those three songs to rechart after the Christmas freeze. It's no wonder the top half of the charts are so boring and uneventful for the most part. |

Other songs have in the past as well like Yellow Hearts and WHATS POPPIN but they typically need to get to the top 30 at least before they chart. It has some real momentum, though, so maybe it'll even get to blueberry faygo levels. |

However there is a whole different age group who works 9-5 etc who can't keep up with what's hot. It sometimes takes awhile for them to get a song into their head but when it does it stays with them. lol. I remember being a teen and being confused when older people were just coming into a song when I felt it was old. lol There are probably people out there who aren't sick of "I Don't Care". I don't know how but there are. lol Some people put on the radio to hear songs that are familiar and not trying to hear the hottest bop. There are lots of different age groups out there and apparently different listening habits and we as chart lovers are NOT going to agree with. lol. |
