If theyβre going the pop audience route, this was definitely the obvious choice.

Hi Rhythmic, could you maybe stop dropping spins so all the stations fall off the leaders list? :sip2:

This has to be at #51 or #52 on rhythmic at this point, gah! Enter already!
Also, this is looking likely to enter the top 40 this week on pop! Not a whole lot behind it coming up fast, currently #42, with "Old Me" exiting soon and two recurrents from "RITMO" and "The Box" this weekend! Fingers crossed this gets there! Just worried about a high profile release this weekend keeping it from doing so or This City/ily gaining momentum and passing it up by the end of the week.
Edit: oh yeah "Ride It" goes recurrent too and even "Baby Girl" might slip below this! Top 40 is in the bag!

Damn! Good update today. Warner needs to keep working on trying to get more stations on board, even if very small stations. This album is too good, it needs to do something. I'm baffled with the fact that nothing is beinging worked on Urban radio.

I would suggest that, due to heightened racial sensitivity, they may not feel comfortable working a white artist at Urban radio but that hasn't stopped The Bonfyre's team from pushing her at Urban/Urban AC!

The Bonfyre is indeed great example, U Say made it to top 15 on Urban and all the way to #1 on Urban AC. And Jojo's album came out almost a month before George Floyd was murdered. It had been more than enough time for 'Comeback' or even 'Lonely Hearts' to get an adds date at least.

^ But probably not enough time for anything to gain traction, if there's something to Shooter's point. I think it's more likely that her label just hasn't made an effort to court Urban/UAC, although IDK why they mightn't have at the very least tried UAC given the success of 'Say So'.

It seems the black community has welcomed JoJo with open arms since 2004 anyway, so I don't think pushing her to urban/urban AC would be seen negatively.
Plus I highly doubt that's the reason since they could have been working her music there for years and still haven't yet. π

This is definitely coming tomorrow night as 'Blinding Lights' and 'Come Thru' are going recurrent and 'In Your Eyes', 'Numbers' and possibly 'Sexbeat' and 'Vibez' should all be getting purged. I mean, this should be at least #56.

It's never gonna go top 40. I love Jo but this is simply not good enough. What was that?

Plus I highly doubt that's the reason since they could have been working her music there for years and still haven't yet. π I donβt think thatβs the reason either but was just theorizing that if it were, it also wouldnβt be a logical decision. Interscope seemed like they wanted her to continuing toeing the line between R&B and Pop, especially considering the records they chose to push, so Iβm not really surprised they didnβt try; Warner, however, gave her full creative freedom to make an R&B album only to not commit to promoting it in that arena. Top-40 is great but I canβt see this song going the distance at Pop and then crossing over. I honestly wouldβve preferred they not send anything to radio if Pop was going to be their sole focus ( Small Things may have stood a slightly better chance) because itβs just another setup for limited returns and her career has had more than enough of that!

Moves up to #37 in the published update thanks to 3 recurrents. Officially her highest charting single on pop since "Disaster" over 8 years ago! Her 6th top 40 entry overall.
#1 Leave (Get Out) #2 Too Little Too Late #7 Baby It's You #28 Disaster #37 Man #38 Anything #41 F*** Apologies. #46 How to Touch a Girl #49 Not That Kinda Girl #50 When Love Hurts All of her radio promoted singles have made the top 50 on pop with the exception of her featured credit on PJ Morton's "Say So," which was only promoted to Urban AC where it made the top ten.
Also, interestingly, it outpeaks Kiana LedΓ©'s "Ex" this week (#38), which this often gets compared to.
It didn't make the top 50 on Rhythmic this week, but #50 there does only have 210 spins and the mock-up (which is almost always lower than reality) is just a few spins below that. Of course it needs to actually gain at Rhythmic to enter, though.

Tbh I wonder how this is doing so well This is a huge surprise to me Pretty much only got into the Top 40 due to how weak the the Top 50 is right now and the sheer amount of songs going recurrent and collapsing this week, don't mean to rain on JoJo's parade cuz I love her and glad she's returned to the Top 40, it's just the truth.

Scraping the top 40 with less than 1mil audience thanks to everything going recurrent - congrats lol. It's still not going to be a hit. It's not good enough. Okay. Still went top 40, making your first statement factually incorrect. It did make the top 40. Its spins were good enough for that. Not to mention quality is subjective and only has so much to do with how successful a song becomes.

Why is it so hard for Rhythmic to follow Pop's lead?! All the stations dropping their spins means they're dropping off the leaders list which just makes this mock-up maddening to read.
POP: 43 38 JOJO Man 827 746 81 0.780

RHYTHMIC (MOCK-UP): ?? ?? JOJO Man 173 169 4 0.351

If that's what we're celebrating - then congrats lol! It's still not going to be a hit. It's not good enough.
