woah the box just went under 2 million streams on spotify. this might jeopardize its year end spot Yeah, itβs definitely decreasing at this point but we gotta remember that Monday is the weakest day for The Box, so the drop below 2 million streams isnβt that surprising.

For anyone interested, these are the official weekly charts for individual streaming services. This could probably help with insight towards predictions... YouTube (Non-UGC) [no longer counts towards Hot 100]:1. The Box 2. Love You When I'm Drunk (MIKA)3. Roxanne 4. Godzilla 5. Highway Star (Deep Purple) 6. Dark Clouds 7. ON 8. 21 9. Dance Monkey 10. Baby Shark 11. Tears of Gold (Faouzia) 12. Life is Good 13. Old Town Road 14. Falling 15. Toxic (Britney Spears)16. Frolic 17. Bad Guy 18. Dior 19. Heroes (David Bowie)20. Tongue Tied 21. Say So 22. Memories 23. Never Gonna Give You Up24. High Fashion 25. Main Title Theme (Artie Kane) So many classic songs benefitting from non-UCG. It's amazing to see how YouTube has breathed new life into older songs and reintroduced them to new generations, especially the masterpiece that is "Never Gonna Give You Up". Also, I'm surprised that one guy's YouTube videos generates enough non-UCG content to propel MIKA's "Love You When I'm Drunk" to #2, above so many recent hits. No wonder the 'MIKA glitch' on the recurrent charts happens every now and then π But seriously, can we make this song go viral somehow? Not only it would be crazy to have an album track from an underperforming 2012 album become a sudden hit, but I'm all for giving MIKA some well-deserved recognition for his post-"Life In Cartoon Motion" work.

Not only it would be crazy to have an album track from an underperforming 2012 album become a sudden hit, but I'm all for giving MIKA some well-deserved recognition for his post-"Life In Cartoon Motion" work. Yeah, that MIKA song is benefitting solely off of a YouTuber who uses it as a theme song for their videos, for no more than 3 seconds. I didn't realize in the past they could track song streams on YouTube off that little usage in a video. Even during the Harlem Shake debacle it was widely thought that a video had to have the audio for atleast 15 or 30 seconds to count. Also on this note, I believe the Canadian Hot 100 still counts non-UGC for some odd reason. Kesha's "Cannibal" debuted #96 there this week due to TikTok compilations. "Bad Guy" is also still #15 (and has the most weeks top 10 ever). "Old Town Road" is also still #19 as of this week.

Can someone explain to me why 85.000 sales and #12 on streaming songs with zero airplay equals to #4 on the chart? For instance: On: 85.000sales + 19m streams + 0aud -> #4 Dance Monkey: 20.000sales + 21m streams + ~55m aud -> #7
And no, I dont even like Dance Monkey. It doesnt seem fair to me nor accurate using the known formula. 65.000 sales is more than 2m streams + all of Dance Monkey's audience? Lol. Billboard needs BTS nowadays it seems.

^The total sales figure consists of physical sales and digital sales..I don't know the weighting contributions for each. Does anyone have an idea, or how much was physical sales?

The sales-to-streams ratio that Billboard uses is not fair, imo.
On's 86k sales = 21.5M paid streams or 32.25M free streams or 43M programmed streams or 100.3M audience impressions.

At least that's the only explanation I can come up with.

Say So at number 10 in Canada before the full week of the video is counted? Yup another reason why the Canadian chart has been consistently better than the U.S as of late. (Besides circles peaking at #2)

(Besides circles peaking at #2)I was going to like your post before I read that last bit. Still, the Canadian Charts have their good points, especially with a Ke$ha album cut from 2010 recharting thanks to Tik Tok, "No Guidance" being out of the charts since a good time now, and "Physical" remaining relatively stable at #76. Still, we ought to remember this was the same country that gave "Earth" by Lil Dicky a top 3 debut...just saying.

I think the formula used for Canada's Hot 100 is similar to the 2017/2018 Hot 100 formula. Streaming is weighted in a way that Nonstop (1 week), I Love It (1), ZEZE (1) and Killshot (2 weeks) reached #1.

Three are by BTS, the most among all acts with such hits.
As BTS celebrates its third career top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (on the chart dated March 7), as "On" rockets in at No. 4, the best placement yet for the Korean pop superstars, the song also earns the distinction as the 20th hit sung primarily in a language other than English to hit the top 10. The total is out of over 4,800 total top 10s to date in the chart's 61-year history.
"On," which is sung primarily in Korean, is from the group's latest LP Map of the Soul: 7, which vaults in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 422,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the largest week for any album so far in 2020.
BTS boasts the most non-English-language Hot 100 top 10s, three, besting PSY, who has two.
Seven of the 20 songs have reached No. 1, including Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito" (featuring Justin Bieber), which spent a then-record-tying 16 weeks at No. 1 in 2017, and Los Del Rio's "Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)," which ruled for 14 weeks in 1996.
Notably, "On" is the highest-charting non-English-language Hot 100 top 10 by a duo or group since "Macarena" in 1996. Before that, Los Lobos' cover of Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba" led in 1987.
Spanish is the most common non-English language listed below (seven of 20 top 10s), followed by Korean (five), German (three), French and Italian (two each) and Japanese (one).
Notably, the 20 top 10s below are sung entirely or mainly in a language other than English; the list does not include songs with portions in other languages, such as "Enrique Iglesias' "Bailamos" or Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin's "I Like It."
In chronological order of their peak dates, here are all 20 non-English-language songs to reach the Hot 100's top 10 (with thanks to Paul Haney at Joel Whitburn's Record Research for research assistance).
Artist, Title, Peak Date, Peak Position (weeks at No. 1), Language

Is it true that if Billboard counted youtube back then gangman style would've hit #1?
