Glad to know that Jessie is aware that Platinum Pleasure sounds like a condom line based of what she wrote on her e-mail.

I just listened to this album for the first time the weekend and I'm absolutely in love with it.
Favorite tracks are Spotlight, What's Your Pleasure, Soul Control, Save a Kiss, Step Into My Life, The Kill, and Remember Where You Are. I love almost every song.

Same...but it’s not something I’m running to listen to, but it’s a nice addition to the album, and I hope whatever is her next single is is the real smash.

7 brand new songs for the deluxe edition?? I hope there won't be too many fillers there. "Please" is cute, though not as great as the original album.

Deluxe is out! The new tracks are great. Obsessed with "Hot N Heavy" and "Please". "Impossible" & "Overtime" are great too and "Pale Blue Light" is beautiful. "Eyes Closed" is interesting and likely a big grower. The only track I'm not too fussed about is "0208", but I'm sure it'll grow on me!

Flawless, this is how you work a deluxe album. The other guys/girls should take notes.

Eyes Closed Please Hot N Heavy Impossible Overtime Pale Blue Light 0208
The original album is already a modern classic and this Platinum Pleasure Edition only further solidifies that, much like Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection and the last installment of Body Talk.

The album was SO good that I really had low expectations for this. I should’ve known better, it’s fantastic!

The album secured itself another week in the top 10 at #7 in the UK with just over 5k sales! It's getting close to being certified in the UK. Silver certification is 60k. The album should be on 40-45k or so by now. Should be certified by the end of the year! :)

Has she had any UK radio hits from the album? I literally just checked a couple days ago and was surprised the album hadn’t been certified yet considering how much press and mileage she’s gotten out of it. I wish America would wake up to its greatness.

Has she had any UK radio hits from the album? I literally just checked a couple days ago and was surprised the album hadn’t been certified yet considering how much press and mileage she’s gotten out of it. I wish America would wake up to its greatness. "Remember Where You Are" got quite a lot of airplay from BBC Radio 2. It was A-listed there for a while and hung about the top 10 of iTunes for quite a few weeks. Her performance of it on the Graham Norton Show really helped the song and album (it returned to the top 10 after the performance that week). Some of her other songs have gotten good airplay too. BBC Radio 2 (largest UK station) has been quite supportive of her. "Please" was on the B-list for a while. I can't remember if they playlisted other singles (I believe they did). I think the main issue is that the album was released during the pandemic. Album sales in the UK have tanked pretty hard due to it. Jessie also gets little to zero support from streaming services. Her songs haven't been on any big/medium sized playlists which hampers the performance of her singles a bit. The album has been a good trickle seller though, despite not being in the top 100. It should get certified silver this year and perhaps even gold if it manages to continue trickle selling well or Jessie promotes it a bit in Q4/around Christmas again. The album has done better than her previous one. I do wish streaming services would support her though. It could be doing a lot better if they had.

I went on a roadtrip the past couple of weeks. I had a playlist and had all intentions of using it, but somehow I ended up on this album. Over and over again. This is handsdown one of the best pop/dance albums of the past twenty years. That combination of disco, dance, 80's R&B/funk, etc. It really is seamless. She smoked all other pop releases last year. James Ford's production is just brilliant, if all of the pop girls aren't running to him after this, then they aren't listening.
There was a delay with my shipping on the Platinum edition, so I'm just getting around to it. Those first five tracks, WOOF. That non-stop disco/dance/house. She's giving us the sweaty afterparty for the album. Then she gives us the cooldown with those last three tracks. It's quite brilliant.
I can't emphasize enough what a homerun this album is. If there was any justice, she'd have every Grammy on her shelf.

This has become my most played album in last.fm. It was Channel Orange for the last 9 years. The platinum edition enhanced this already fabulous album.
