It's just something I remember. The first Top 30 Countdown I listened to was April 16, 2000, and I have it written down and dated. What songs were played that day? Can you give us a list if you don’t mind, please? I’m interested to know what they played back then.

Another song that's playing that isn't on the chart yet: Chingy and Meg & Tyler's "The Woah Down".
AJR's "Bang!" is currently in the Music Mailbag with a 90% "Pick It!" vote.

Added to Top Songs today:
1. Ariana Grande & Justin Bieber - Stuck With U 2. Katy Perry - Daisies 3. Laura Marano - When You Wake Up 4. Asher Angel - Guilty 5. Caroline Romano - I Still Remember (R3HAB Remix) 6. Angie Rose - Like Gold
Surf Mesa's "ily (i love you) (f. Emilee)" is currently in the Music Mailbag with a 94% "Pick It!" vote.
I'd also like to address this song I've had on repeat for a while that I heard on Radio Disney that I would have never heard otherwise. It's only got 14k views on YouTube, so I really appreciate how they support small artists like this.
(Yes, the lyrics are a bit different on the version that's played on Radio Disney.)

Thanks CatSoul for starting this thread! I remember listening to the station in the 2000s, but I don’t remember when I stopped listening to it. Glad to see the latest songs by Hailee Steinfeld and Niall Horan added time their playlist. Hope to catch them on there, cause it is a different experience hearing it live versus just playing it on your phone.

Added today: Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me "Kickin' Pushin'" by Destiny Rogers is currently in the Music Mailbag with a 57% "Pick It!" vote. (Yikes...lower than Dear Winter, the previous lowest I'd seen which did not get added.) Just for fun and nostalgia, here are some older Radio Disney songs that still have videos on the Disney website (and, in the case of Geek Love, only on the Disney website): Aly & AJ - Like WhoaAly & AJ - Potential Breakup Song A whole page of Demifan_3 - Geek Love A whole page of MileyA whole page of Selena
Interestingly, Aly & AJ's "Potential Breakup Song" and Selena Gomez's "Hit The Lights" are the unedited rather than the Radio Disney edits. They also have the Can't Be Tamed album listed on Miley's page - oh, how times have changed...

I don’t understand why that crappy song is even playing on Radio Disney! The comments about that song are so bad, the comments on the video are disabled!!

Radio Disney is amazing! Back in 12th grade (early 2017), I would run the school store at my high school. All we were allowed to play was Radio Disney. I was surprised to find several EDM songs that I was already listening to! Its refreshing to think about the quality of playlist they keep.
Some of those songs were:
Steve Aoki & Louis Tomlinson - Just Hold On DJ Snake & Justin Bieber - Let Me Love You Hailee Steinfeld, Zedd & Grey - Starving Major Lazer f/ Justin Bieber & MO - Cold Water The Chainsmokers - Closer and Don't Let Me Down
and more EDM tracks that featured names close to Pop radio and Radio Disney's library of artists

The video is "content made for kids", according to the text when I try to hit the "Save" button on it...despite the fact that the non-Radio Disney version has multiple references to alcohol. Some guy yelling about how bad the song is has over ten times more views than the actual video though.

Added today:
1. R3HAB - Miss U More Than U Know (with Sofia Carson) 2. Lil Xxel - LMK 3. Trevor Daniel - Past Life (with Selena Gomez)*
*Currently misspelled on the actual chart as "Past Live".
Radio Disney, real talk, y'all are adding too many melancholy songs about missing lovers. A small amount is fine, but your target demographic doesn't need to feel so blue with everything else going on in the world.

They've been uncharacteristically neglecting the alternative chart for a while; they probably should stop doing that and pick up a few of the bouncier songs on the format to mix things up.

Katy Perry - Smile 8. blackbear - Queen Of Broken Hearts Well, er...can't say I've ever heard any of these, nor can I say I ever expected a blackbear song on Radio Disney. Maybe they kind-of took my advice about depressing songs, though! Look, this one's even called "Be Happy"! Let me look at the lyrics real quick- OH COME ON.

Added today:
1. Sabrina Carpenter - Let Me Move You 2. Bryce Xavier - bus ride away 3. Krewella & Yellow Claw - Rewind 4. Maroon 5 - Nobody's Love
For some reason, Krewella & Yellow Claw's "Rewind" does not have (RD Version) next to its title in the web player/car radios, despite the fact that they censored "Yellow motherf**king Claw" to "Yellow-Yellow-Yellow Claw".
Prediction: Billie Eilish's "my future" will be in the next round of songs added.

That's a pretty great countdown. Surprised to see three Pokemon songs on the countdown, since Disney didn't have anything to do with the show until 2016.
The only one of those I've heard on Radio Disney as a kid is "Hamsterdance"...and since I was born after this countdown, that should tell you how long they played that song.

That's right, Hampsterdance was played and charted regularly on the countdown through 2006. Most of these songs went away, yet some came back as part of the Radio Disney 15th Anniversary Flashback in 2011 (...Baby One More Time, (You Drive Me) Crazy (album version), Lucky, All Star, Come On Over, Larger than Life). Bye Bye Bye and I Want It That Way were played continuously from their debut through 2011 and after.

Because I'm just looking for weird ways to fill my time before I go back to school again, and I don't have a blog for stuff like this (no one would read it), here's what I think the top 10 most inappropriate songs that have made it on Radio Disney are.
Also, I'm not a prude. I don't necessarily think that these songs are inappropriate for children to hear in other contexts; I just think it's odd that Radio Disney played them, considering the changes made at times to very mild lyrics and songs that are skipped over that are less questionable.
10. Billie Eilish - bad guy (with Justin Bieber) - Their version was edited to remove the "might seduce your dad type" part, and Justin Bieber's verse was less suggestive than Billie's original there, but "bruises on both my knees for you" and "like it really rough guy" are things that parents might be surprised to hear on Radio Disney. 9. Neon Trees - Sleeping With a Friend (See It With a Friend) - This made the list more on the implications of the original title. I'm sure the Radio Disney edit was fine, but you can't find it anywhere online, and any kid who searched for the song after hearing it on Radio Disney would find the original version. 8. Britney Spears - Slumber Party (feat. Tinashe) - I've heard this edit, but it was the first time I had heard the song, so I unfortunately don't remember all the changes they made. They replaced "We use our bodies to make our own videos" with the instrumental/an echo of the previous line, and changed "fucking crazy" to "crazy crazy". There's no getting around the fact that this song is about an adult slumber party though; when Britney says "no no, you and I, we ain't gonna sleep tonight", she's not talking about staying up all night playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. 7. Dua Lipa - IDGAF - Another one based on the title. Radio Disney's edit says "I don't need your love" instead of the offending phrase, but the original title showed up on car radios, their chart, streaming services, etc. What's the kid-friendly explanation for what "IDGAF" means? 6. Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman - Much like "Slumber Party", blanking a few lyrics doesn't change the sensual nature and theme of the lyrics. In some cases, it seems to draw more attention to them. "All that you got...[blank], oh my god, don't you stop, boy..." 5. Madison Beer - Hurts Like Hell (Hurts So Bad) - Madison Beer changed a lot of "Hurts Like Hell" for Radio Disney, from the title to the complete removal of Offset's verse. However, the amount of innuendo she managed to slip under their radar after all those changes is incredible. "My baby said he need me/gotta eat, sleep, and breathe me out till the end"..."My baby's all alone in his bed/Fingertips, on the edge"...there was also the odd change from "touch, kiss, and please me" to "touch, kiss, and squeeze me." 4. Demi Lovato - Cool for the Summer - One of the most blatantly sexual songs that's made its way onto Radio Disney, with the changes Disney made doing nothing to de-emphasize that. "Got my mind on your body and your body on my mind/Got a taste for the cherry, I just need to take a bite" became the repetitive and still suggestive "Got my mind on your body and your body on my mind/Got a mind on your body and your body on my mind". 3. Hey Violet - Guys My Age - The subject matter is completely inappropriate for Radio Disney. Sure, they eliminated the most suggestive parts: "Now I'm out and wearing something low-cut/'Bout to get attention from a grown-up" became "Now I'm out and wearing something so fun/'Bout to get attention from a new one". But the very next line after that is "'Cause you hold me like a woman...", which was not changed. And call me crazy, but I don't think Disney should be advertising to young girls that older men can "hold [you] like a woman" and "love [you] good." 2. Machine Gun Kelly & Camila Cabello - Bad Things - Hey, Radio Disney? If you can't say one of the artist's names (Kelly became "MGK") or the song title ("I only wanna do do things to you"), don't play it, instead of trying to edit this rough sex anthem into a kid-friendly tune just because Camila's in it. 1. Liam Payne - Strip That Down - One of the few songs I've seen a specific complaint on Radio Disney's social media about them playing from a parent. And I can't say I blame them; there's no kid-friendly meaning for "Strip That Down". They're stripping wallpaper? And she...hits the ground? "Put your hands on my body and swing that 'round for me"? Quavo's verse, as well as some incidental references to alcohol and grinding were removed, but, well...Strip That Down. Can't get around that.
