Pretty much the order that I expected in the top four, or just about. "Rock With You" is just immaculate.
Looking forward to 1981!

Great rankdown Soulsista, thanks! I was hoping to see Stomp do a little better, but there really wasn't a bad song in the bunch.

Rock With You could've very easily taken the #1 spot for me, I was just feeling Celebration a little bit more at that moment.

Can't be mad that "Rock With You" won since iot is one of M.J.'s calssics, but I rally wanted "Take Your Time" to be the upset winner.
Great list of songs.

In this rankdown, I learned that "Funkin' For Jamaica" is where Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg got the bass line for "Dre Day." And we all know that "And The Beat Goes On" was sampled by Will Smith in "Miami." This is the second rankdown where my top two were THE top two. The other was the 1996 Active Rock rankdown, though my #1 was #2 and my #2 was #1. Still highly improbable, especially in a 100-song rankdown. I had to give "Rock With You" the edge over "Upside Down" because "Rock With You" has a dark but dreamy vibe to it that I love. I'm a sucker for songs like that. "Upside Down" is still the bomb, though.

4. Take Your Time (9): It's a fun, groovy song, but I've never been a big fan of it. The chorus is a bit too simple to me. 3. And The Beat Goes On (6): I really like the music and melody. Could've ranked it a bit higher, but I liked the other songs more. 2. Upside Down (2): A classic! This may be my favorite Diana Ross song ever, and at least the first one I remember from my childhood. Love the bass, and the overall disco flavor, and especially the verses and the last minute. 1. Rock With You (1): This was my clear winner. One of my favorite MJ songs ever. I've always loved the elegant but fun production and his joyous vocals. Smooth groove that is quite pleasant to listen to and enjoy while driving, sunsetting, relaxing, or dancing. Thanks and congrats Soulsista for this great idea of a rankdown!!
