A little lower than expected, but not bad at all. Hopefully, they hold well throughout the week(e)nd.

Total First Day streams for After Hours in the U.S.: 26,019,376MNgl, these numbers are underwhelming when you realized Taylor Swift pulled the same numbers with "Lover" ...if not, more.

He is probably smashing on Apple Music, good Spotify debut nonetheless. He's been consistently stronger on Spotify with the pre-released singles, whereas someone like Lil Uzi gets ~35% of his streams from Spotify, The Weeknd typically gets over 50% of his streams from Spotify.

If we count like fifty-fifty, the whole week would be something like 280-300M in streams.

So, how many streams do y'all see the Weeknd pulling? My prediction? 350-385M streams. Yeah, I think I'm gonna be lowering my projections to 300-350M streams now.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna be lowering my projections to 300-350M streams now. 275-300M for me. That's reasonable. I'm still holding out hope that he'll be able to pull just over 300M streams by the end of the week. I'll probably adjust my projections again on Monday based on how he performs.

You would think? But I've seen that most people listen to music passively by just throwing on a playlist during commutes to work/school. But I guess if their home they can just watch a movie or show or listen to older music (which might be why HDD said catalog music is rising)

The Gambler #7 and Islands in the Stream is #16 on iTunes. RIP Kenny :/ What a legend... RIP, Kenny. Probably the first country I recall ever listening to.

this is really underwhelming but maybe In Your Eye could debut top 10? Looks like Alone Again will be the biggest debut. But In Your Eyes has extra streams beyond what it should have (considering its position on the album) so who knows if it’ll grow more

Using previous huge albums numbers (2018/2019) after the first day as an indication for performance throughout the week... After Hours is going to finish the week with 100-130M U.S. Spotify streams.

Let’s keep it real...
His numbers are blatantly underwhelming.
With all of the alleged hype, there’s not a single song over 3M streams on U.S Spotify.
Either way, I’m sure he’ll hold well throughout the week. His eras have always performed well in the longevity department.

Petition to add “why haven’t streams gone up since everyone is stuck at home” to the pulse bingo Someone please make an actual pulse bingo I’ll love you forever. Here you go, darling 😊 I did this for the 03/14 chart week, so it needs some updating, I'd imagine. Current Pulse Hot 100 Threads Bingo Card
- Is Adele and/or Rihanna going to release something? - Raving about the trap-rock masterpiece that is "Take What You Want" (which left the charts a month ago) - Off-topic discussion of a random topic (ranging from 'who's a legacy act?' to Lionel Richie album bombs to racism) - "The Box" got a bad update today, iT's FiNaLlY dYiNg - "Blinding Lights" to #1 - "Don't Start Now" to #1 - Where's the Spotify update? - Talk about the random Tik Tok hit that's doing well on streaming - Random discussion about radio and how it's weighted too heavily on the charts + counterarguments - Can we get rid of "Memories"/"Someone You Loved"/any radio-driven hit not called "Circles"? - Statements about the hypocrisy of radio haters when airplay benefits the songs they like - "Circles" is a terrible song (which is an utter lie, by the way)
- Predictions! - Album bomb talk! - Drake fans obsessing over his impact - Where are the charts? - *insert relevant artist of the week* is holding the Billboard HQ hostage - Raving about "Don't Start Now", "Blinding Lights", and "hot girl bummer" rising on the charts - Tanooki posts the all-encompassing charts for all poor souls who cannot access them anymore - People complain that the genre charts should be on a separate thread and take up space + counterarguments NEW ENTRY: why haven’t streams gone up since everyone is stuck at home - Rinse and repeat 😉

If Rihanna and Adele don't release something, I'm gonna go insane. Like I'm already mad that Take What You Want didn't become a hit like it's supposed to while boring ass songs like Memories, Someone You Loved, and 10K Hours are radio darlings but Circles can stay. What really grinds my gears is Spotify releasing the charts late, are they run by snails or something? Same thing with Billboard charts, like come on Billboard where are the charts?. One thing I'm happy about is that The Box is dying and it's going to be replaced by either Blinding Lights or Don't Start Now. Oh look, a song that got popular from Tik Tok. Can we also talk about how amazing Drake is and how he can get big streams with only his name alone? I'm also wondering if there will be a Toni Braxton album bomb.

I actually thought Corona might not actually effect album bombs..Since the major effect has been people not commuting to work + exercise, so most streams have been down as the general public won't hear music as much. A shame, but I guess that's gonna be the new normal for the next 2-3 months.
