Dua’s album is only 2 weeks away now (WOOO) so my guess is they release the new single next week to give people more of a taste of the album, promote the hell out of Don’t Start Now so it gets the #1 during release week, and then move on to promoting Break My Heart. Shame that Physical got caught in DSN’s rise, but I’m not too surprised, and her album’s shaping up to be great so I doubt the new single will be a downturn

Dua's new single, "Break My Heart", is getting released 3/27 so expect Don't Start Now to have a final push to #1 before it goes to radio. I'm convinced her team has everything planned for the week her album drops. I mean, "Don't Start Now" has been sitting at No. 2 in Australia for nearly 3 months now...and its wavering in the top 5 of the UK Singles chart, its still No. 3 and strong In Canada, and not too far behind at No. 2 in the US. Whatever they have planned, I bet its all on the table to nab a No. 1 in all these countries simultaneously when the album drops - especially In the US & Canada, the two markets her team is focused on right now.

Blinding Lights is back to number one. I’d be v annoyed if Alone Again was streaming number one over BL, so hopefully this carries over to Spotify and YT.

In a sense, Spotify is a lot more "Mainstream" than Apple Music, so I can see "Blinding Lights" easily dominating there on the 03/20/20 update tomorrow.

Hoping that J Balvin can get another top ten album, although he seems to be in a position similar to what Ozuna had with his last album, in which the American general public don't seem to much interest. If he can't go top ten, then I'm hoping at least top 40. Which Ozuna couldn't do last time.

I think everyone worried about In Your Eyes eating Blinding Lights just has PTSD from Starboy. They learned from the mistake that was every single after the title track's rollout. I remember being worried that Heartless would put Blinding Lights into the good songs dustbin along with Take What You Want, and they're both still in the top 20 despite him not promoting Heartless at all since January 5 hours into the week and we've got it already.. Someone took this bingo already? Do we have an Abel-influenced hostage situation at Spotify hq too?

I’d be surprised if Alone Again doesn’t hit the top 10. Whenever an album pulls large enough streaming numbers the first week it seems like the opening track almost always hits the top 10 just because of its placement on the album.

Just noticed the ungodly amount of albums arriving April 3rd...even a country album ...lol, hopefully Dua Lipa is gonna lead the Billboard 200 race (~ but let's be honest, she's probably gonna debut somewhere in the Top 10 which is a huge improvement nonetheless).

Spotify or the Hot 100? Because not that many opening tracks have debuted in the top 10 of the Hot 100 in the streaming era. I don't think any has infact.

I think they just mean that openers debut high in general. Like "Baby Pluto" and "Paranoid" for example.

Also like "STARGAZING" by Travis Scott, the highest-debut from "ASTROWORLD" due to it being the opening track.

Also KOD, DNA, and Don't Cry Kinda off topic to the convo, but everyone seems to hate album bombs ...but I actually enjoy them due to the fact that it helps to completely knock songs off the charts that are just sitting around due to SLOWLY dying airplay.

It seems like every time there is an album bomb of large size that the opening track is a top 10 debut. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but it definitely shows that the order that songs are placed on an album still matters.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned how "Physical" by Dua Lipa reached No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart today, matching the peak of Olivia Newton John's 1981 Smash Hit of the same name.

How the Coronavirus Might Affect the Future of the Charts (Thinkpiece by Me!)
Not only are streaming figures showing weaknesses throughout this pandemic - but radio is taking a few jabs as well. Despite not showing any huge changes, radio stations are definitely wavering sharply to try and fit with the sudden shift in social isolationism and lack of consumers going for a drive and jamming to the radio. With that being said, are we preparing for yet another bane and murky chart season? I mean, with streams already starting to slow down during this crisis (along with radio and possibly sales too)... are we looking to see the worst chart points to ever be recorded on the Hot 100 in the coming weeks? It may be. Radio: I hope Nielsen adjusts the radio numbers with an audience re-calibration. If not, streaming is being f**cked up on the Hot 100. For the March 28 chart, I have streaming with 47% of the points in the top 10 and radio with 46%.
Chart points: I have Intentions at #10 with 19,400 points. In almost three years doing Hot 100 predictions, the weakest #10 is God Is A Woman with 19,800 points in September 2018. The Weeknd's album bomb is gonna "help" the Hot 100 next week, but I'm not optimistic for the week after the album.
