New FGL song out on March 27th. They say at the end of the announcement that it'll be going to country radio, so it looks like the lead-off single to album #5.

Iâm assuming theyâre going to harken back to their bro-country days with this one. Yay.

Eh I do not mind if they go the bro country route because the last song of theirs that I feel like was bro-ish was probably "Smooth" ("Up Down" is a Morgan Wallen single). That being said bro country is so out of date/style and after how underwhelming their last era was, they can't really keep having songs keep underperform and if they go the pure bro country rock template it is bound to underperform (see "We Back" for Jason Aldean and "Hell Right" by Blake Shelton).

Eh, I hope this isn't an Alan Jackson-esque attempt to make profit on the Corona pandemic, that was my first thought when I saw the title.

Ugh, sounds like an early candidate for worst song of the year.

The amount of people on this board who judge a song based on its title is simply mind-blowing.

The amount of people on this board who judge a song based on its title is simply mind-blowing. Also wondering if the response would be so negative if the title was: I Love My Region I Love My State I Love My Town I Love My Neighborhood I Love My Home I Love My Family

Maybe it will be like Mo Pitneyâs song Country.

Eh, I hope this isn't an Alan Jackson-esque attempt to make profit on the Corona pandemic, that was my first thought when I saw the title. Theyâve been teasing songs on social media for awhile. If I had to guess itâs about how they love their country music and full of name drops. Looking forward to something new from them though.

Their last album and the singles were a huge step up, IMO. This title does not sound like it will continue that trend (for me, personally) however I will listen with an open mind.

I like it! Not a patriotic song at all or about the current situation we are in.

Theyâre obviously trying to return to the sound that made them superstars, but this is just lacking that charmâfor lack of a better wordâthat made their debut album special.
The chorus immediately made me think of Kane Brownâs âShort Skirt Weatherâ. Too similar.

Interesting that they changed their producers to Corey Crowder...

This is really similar to âCanât Say I Ainât Countryâ from their last album. Too soon to say which of the two songs like I better. This one is decent on first listen and could end up growing. As far as radio, I think it should be an easy #1, but not sure I see it being a mega hit for them.

Interesting that they changed their producers to Corey Crowder... They co-produced it too, looks like they might have done the whole album like this. Iâm still intrigued as to why they dropped their old management too, as they still handle HARDY and Morgan Wallen. They were probably not too happy with their last album not doing as well as their previous ones. Itâs interesting bc even though Hardy wrote a majority of the songs on the last album, it just didnât sound inspired or fresh to me. Ironically, he also wrote one of the biggest country songs in âGods Countryâ so itâs funny how radio success can work at times.

Thank you ladyđfan for mentioning this sounded like their early work. Because man it does, and it sounds like a much more stale version which not shocking since the producer is the same one that Chris Young has where his production is also stale. In terms of chart prospects, maybe it could be a #1 but my gut is telling me this is not the lead single needed to get them back on track and I can easily see this having interest fade and for it to be their least impactful Top 10 hit.

Not really my type of song, but it's not as bad as I was worried it would be.

It confuses me when a lot of bro artists sing about loving fiddle and pedal steel in their country music. It's like they are singing the praises of items they are trying to get rid of in the genre. Other than those thoughts, I just find this to be another generic, uninspired (slightly catchy) piece of work that I have come to despise from them.

The only thing that keeps this song even an inch above water is the production imo. I wouldn't change the station if I heard this but I also won't be personally seeking it out. I can see this doing well at radio only because this has the sound of something that will really do well during the summer, especially when we can get back together out on the beaches and things like that, and also because it's the very sound that made them popular. Hoo doggies tho, that lyric about "the Alabama shake"? Carrie said no for a reason

Sounds just like "Up Down"......... great.
This song is awful and is a huge step down from "Blessings" and I am really, really upset that "Can't Hide Red" never saw the light of day.

Interesting that they changed their producers to Corey Crowder... Corey writes for their company, has had success as a producer and the minute they left Big Loud, I knew they were no longer working with Joey Moi.

Not really a fan of this. I liked most of their last album, but sadly this is a step in the wrong direction for me. "Can't Hide Red" and "Colorado" are so much better than this (though I do get why "Colorado" was never a radio single).
