I wanted to make a thread to get people to share their favourite new music that they're listening to as the year goes on. I'd also like to share some of mine, updating with new favourites as 2020 continues.
I'd love to hear what the people on Pulse consider to be the best music of the year, let's hear it!
Mac Miller - Circles.
Probably the most beautiful and well collected posthumous album that I've ever heard. The sounds here are so smooth and easy to listen to but the subject matter which includes death, the afterlife, hopelessness, as well as the fact that the artist is no longer here make this a very powerful and sometimes challenging listen. Mac Millers singing voice had never sounded this good and the whole album just flows together really beautifully.
Tame Impala - The Slow Rush.
An at times emotionally driven, but bubbly reflection of life delivered in a grand psych-pop style. The instrumentation on this album is surreal and the topics that Kevin Parker sings about involving fading relevance, estranged relationships and nostalgia give this album a lot more impact and depth than just its incredible sound and funky grooves.
070 Shake - Modus Vivendi.
A beautiful, Mike Dean produced defiance of genre that reflects emotional honesty and broken love. 070 Shake's robotic vocals can sound lifeless at first but I feel that once you pick up on what she's saying this album hits a whole lot harder. The blends of emo rap and gospel R&B make this a really interesting listen from an artist who has big things coming in the future.

personally most of Circles was pretty mid. Good News was the only song that truly clicked I thought so at first too, I still personally like Swimming, Divine Feminine, and Watching Movies more, but I see this album as more of a neo soul r&b album rather than a rap album like he made when he was alive and when I accepted that it was something completely different to what he usually did I enjoyed it more.

Chelsea Cutler - How To Be Human This is such a masterpiece. The vulnerability is incredible, this is so honest and real yet so relatable. Her vocals are beautiful, the songs are catchy and you can just feel the pain she's been going through. She has always been the most underrated pop singer in my opinion, however this album catapulted her to new heights, what a great body of work that feels super cohesive and important in its lyrics. Favorites: nj (I wanna tell you I'm sorry for the mistakes Ive made, that I forgive you for the part that you played) You Are Losing Me (you weren't losing me when I already lost you) Lucky (grew on me so much due to current events, "It's not everyday you could hear me say I love somebody") Crazier Things (It amazes me you move on so easily from someone that you once called home)
Honestly just repeating these lyrics sends shivers through my body, I feel her so much!
Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia Fun pure pop songs with great production that just scream bops. All scream banger but are still super diverse in their directions. The lyrics are also pretty creative in my opinion but the harmonies and melodies are what make this stand out so much. What a great record! Favorites: "Cool", "Physical", "Hallucinate", "Love Again"

Kesha's High Road and Conan Gray's debut, Kid Krow, are the only two 2020 albums I've even bought / listened to this year so far... I need to pick up Adam Lambert's Velvet eventually. I don't know what is taking Normani so long. I was actually looking forward to Miley's new music, too, for once, and it looks like that album's not happening now, I guess?
I suppose I can include Maddie & Tae's The Way It Feels here since the majority of the album has been available for a long time now via EPs.

So far it's High Road, but it's not quite on the same level as her previous two albums so I see it being overtaken by Future Nostalgia once it drops.
