Billboard s**t the bed yesterday so today it is.
“Trouble’s Coming” - Royal Blood: Surprised this is catching on so much on Alt radio. It’s good but not really what I think of when I think Royal Blood. Screw it. 8/10
“Kilby Girl” - The Backseat Lovers: Surprised yet glad this got the Entercom deal last week. Good song. It’s kind of like Wallows. 9/10
“Bummerland” - AJR: I expected nothing less from this band. It sounds like all of their other songs, which ripped off other “indie pop” acts in the first place. Please flop. 2/10

Almost forgot about this, sorry.
“Daisy" - Ashnikko: Pretty bad and doesn’t belong on this format. 2/10
“Me and You” - Cold Hart & Lil Peep: Laziest song I’ve heard. Fuck this. 1/10
“survivin’” - Bastille: Extremely inferior to the previous single. 4/10
“Ohms” - Deftones: This week’s silver lining. Just a straight up good hard rock song, and very melodic. 9/10

“No Other Way” - SHAED: Actually good. 7/10
“my ex’s best friend” - Machine Gun Kelly & blackbear: The first single was better. This is okay. 6/10
“Put Your Records On” - Ritt Momney: Boring af. Really has nothing to it. Only plus is that it kinda sounds like the original. Just listen to the Corinne Bailey Rae version. 5/10

Chart year is almost done!
“Lifetime” - Romy: The singer is Romy from The xx. Pretty good. I like her voice. 8/10
“Any Way You Wanna Love”: A pretty good Meg Myers song. It sounds nice. 8/10

“1st Time” - Bakar: Good. 8/10
“Angels & Demons” - jxdn: Irritating. 3/10

It’s officially the first week of the 2021 chart year. It feels weird but at the same time I’m excited to see what this chart year brings us.
“Shame Shame” - Foo Fighters: It’s not really what I expected from them, but it’s good. A grower. At first I wasn’t sure about it. 8/10
“Therefore I Am” - Billie Eilish: It’s good. Much more radio friendly than “My Future” and more upbeat. My favorites from her are bass-driven, so that gives this some extra points. 8/10
“All About You” - The Knocks f/ Foster the People: This song is good. Bass-driven and catchy. 7/10
“Think I’m Crazy” - Two Feet: I like how this song isn’t a rehash of “I Feel Like I’m Drowning”. It’s really decent. 6/10

I forgot to do this, but at least it was done before the next chart came out!
“Must Stop” - ONR f/ Sarah Barthel of Phantogram: This song is honestly a grower. Not bad at all tbh. 7/10
“forget me too” - Machine Gun Kelly & Halsey: The amount of MGK songs on alt right now is complete overkill. It’s like Kaplan is trying to kill his career or something. That being said, nice slice of 2000s pop punk. Kind of wish it was just Halsey because she just rocks this genre, but this is kind of like blink-182 + Paramore. Not bad at all. 7/10
“The Adults Are Talking” - The Strokes: Honestly, this week wasn’t bad at all for debuts but this is the clear star of the show. Absolute bop. I’m not sure what genre to classify this song as but that doesn’t really matter because these boys rock it. 9/10
“Another Hit of Showmanship” - The Struts & Albert Hammond Jr.: Am I the only one who finds it funny that The Struts made a song with the guitarist from The Strokes? Similar names lol. Anyway, this just limped its way onto the chart without a bullet but it’s pretty good! Glad it got to chart. 8/10

“Deep End” - Fousheé: Strange pick for alt (thanks Kaplan) but this isn’t bad actually. Compotent alt-R&B. 7/10
“Dancing in My Room” - 347aidan: The beat and instrumental aren’t bad but the vocals are. Aidan is only 17 so I can kind of excuse it. He kind of sounds like grandson if grandson was a teenager, which is kind of funny because they’re both Canadian and have a similar way of singing. 5/10

I keep neglecting to do these on time :(
“Stuck in the Middle” - Tai Verdes: Cool song. Has a great vibe. 7/10
“Hello Hello Hello” - Remi Wolf: Honestly the definition of meh. 5/10

“Christmas Saves the Year” - twenty one pilots: The first holiday song to enter alt in 7 or 8 years. It’s actually better than LoC. It honestly doesn’t feel like the holiday season :( but it did get me festive for a sec. 7/10
“ESTELLA//“ - KennyHoopla f/ Travis Barker: Cool pop punk song but a little too short. 8/10

“WITHOUT YOU” - The Kid LAROI: Doesn’t belong here. Also really sucks. 2/10

“True Crime” - DREAMERS & DeathbyRomy: 7/10
“Material Boy” - Sir Sly: 8/10
“Blunt Force Concussion” - The Dirty Nil: 8/10
“fake friend” - nothing, nowhere.: Doesn’t rely on a trap beat too much, which is becoming increasingly annoying in these kinds of songs. Solid pop-punk.
“The Bandit” - Kings of Leon: 8/10
