*relistens to "That's Just Me"*Nope, y'all were wrong on this one. That melody is undeniably fantastic and the instrumentation is easily some of the strongest on the album. Sounds like it would've been a huge 90s smash. That toe-tapping groove and all the fiddles sawing in and out of his lines, not a clue how anyone could think this is the worst this album had. "Renegade" is the album track that he could've kept. What a disappointment that one turned out to be with such a promising track title. Also this is another one of those albums where I was left thinking, once again, that Tim McGraw did not make the most of his single selections as I feel many of the album cuts were missed opportunities. He has such a knack for that, sadly.

That's Just Me is a toe tapper.
Renegade kinda sucks. The title alone lifts it out of pure suckdom.

Not gonna lie, a small part of my love for Renegade is the song title itself. 😬😂
Sorry for the no reveals last night, Tiny Dancers! Power was out until about ten o clock last night and when I finally was able to get on I felt like it was too late.
Definitely want to get us to the top 5 tonight! Or ofcourse possibly finish if people are here. :) I'm gonna have terrible hints around every corner! :kii: '

I didn't realize you were without power as well...what a hell of a storm! Between this and the two hurricanes last year, you've really had your fair share of encounters with mother nature lol. Stay safe and warm my friend! Both of the first two songs out were also in my bottom 2, albeit in reverse order. In relistening to "That's Just Me", I can definitely hear why it might have some fans who enjoy it and in retrospect I'd likely move that one out of last place. That designation would likely fall upon "You've Got the Wrong Man" as I find the production to be quite grating. Either way, both of these songs fall to the bottom of the pack and if I were cutting the album down to ten tracks those two would likely be my choice to cut.

And I know Texas got it a lot worse than we did, I can only imagine how bad it was for you if you've lost power continuously the past two days! Between the two hurricanes and this ice storm, I asked my mom, 'What's coming for us next? A meteor?"

And here's that rebellious son of a bitch, Reneeegaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaade! This got more hate than love, 4 last places and a total of 11 put it in their bottom 3! I think it's a pretty good album track but not one of my favorites from him or anything- As I agreed earlier, it's just too fun of a song title for me to not make myself like the song lol He rides with the wind, he follows the sun, his heart beats to a different drum. It's just the way he was made, he's a reneeeegaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaade! The hint was American Dad's Roger in the episode "Ore-Tron Trail". Roger faked his death and became one with the road, a rebel, a RENEGADE! I cannot hear the word now and not think of him. 😂
RENEGADE!
I'll probably be revealing the next four slowly over the next few hours and then the top five tonight (hopefully a lot of y'all renegades will be on!) so be checking back and commenting! Most will have terrible hints. 👀 renegade

When bboat11 wakes up and finds this gone.... :kii: Um, someone tell Tim that ghosting isn't cool! He left a note for her to wake up to. That's basically a 90's version of a text message breakup! And is super chicken shit. Man up and face what you're going to do! I'm also conflicted on the song being completely over for five seconds, then coming back with a minute long outro. Otherwise, I really like the song. 😂 I do feel the vulnerability and sincerity in not wanting to hurt her. Hurting the other person is the worst part of a break up when it's just not working. Live footage of the heartfelt note Tim left for her when she woke up: Three more lose their last place and five receive perfect rankings!

I feel as though I am under-using the “I’m sorry. I can’t. Don’t hate me” sticky note in life.

Well castleoblivion26 knows his classic cartoons! The Great Divide is a really unique song for this album about a couple that has fallen out of love but continue to stay together. Can they find their way back to what they once had? 😓 (spoiler: they do! 🌹 kinda ) It's haunting and touching but is one I shamelessly overlook and probably underranked because of that. Four get perfect rankings! Kanenrá:ke loses his #1. :( The Land Before Time hint was referring to the great earthquake (not to be confused with The Great Valley) that is known as The Great Divide. Littlefoot was separated from his grandparents!

Going to catch up on the previous reveals here in a bit, but I hope that's a hint for the title track! Is "All I Want" that disliked to not even be able to place top 5, let alone #6 here? Lol. Genuinely have no idea. It's a jam, but that means nothing to Pulse usually. :kii:

Up next we lose I Didn't Ask and She Didn't Say, leaving Don't Mention Memphis as our sole remaining album track! HeyHeyHey and .indulgecountry get perfect rankings! The song is about running into an old (girl)friend and catching up on small talk. This one is my personal favorite album track and I have a crazy folklore/evermore-type conspiracy theory: Tim executive produced Jo Dee's I'm Alright album- In the song I'm Alright, Jo Dee just small talks about how life is going to the friend she's run into. Could this be their James and Betty? Tim still has feelings for Jo Dee, but I just don't think Jo Dee has any romantic feelings for him! I guess we'll never know because he didn't ask... and she didn't say! Also I think they have buried PTSD from being Crystal Lake Jason Vorhees survivors...Does she think about the nights we spent on Crystal Lake?

I’m disappointed but not surprised to see “Renegade” out already. This has always been one of my favorite tracks from the album, so much so that I dang near put this in my top five. Interesting that this was written by the same songwriters that gave us both “Carried Away” and “Carrying Your Love With Me” from George! The same goes for “The Great Divide” which I think is one of the better ballads from the album. Again, neither of these two songs were going to have enough support to get them any higher so the results for both are about as expected. “I Didn’t Ask and She Didn’t Say” is another track that standouts on its own. And now ClevelandRox you have my mind rolling with that theory! We’ll likely never know what happened between Tim and Jo Dee, but there certainly seems to be more to the story given the radio silence between the camps after a certain point. I’d very much like to see the title track leave before the top 5, so I’m seeing my fingers crossed!

And here we have the highest ranking album track, beating I Didn't Ask and She Didn't Say by two points! Things get worse for 🌺CountryLineDancer as they now lose their #1. :( Diablo Cody gets a perfect ranking! This one has really grown on me since the rankdown opened, it was originally my last place. 😬 I told boat "Why would anyone ever even mention Memphis unless someone says to you 'Hey, whatever you do.... don't mention Memphis!'?!. I couldn't get past it. He explained they're leaving (probably) Memphis so it'd be an easy conversation piece. But... Tim wants to get to Little Rock, so I'm not sure how going through Texas from Memphis, Tennessee gets him to Arkansas. ??? I'm just nitpicking. 😂, it's a beautiful song that I'm glad I've come around to. The hint is Memphis from Big Brother 10 and Big Brother 22 and yeah, we're sure as fuck never mentioning him ever again!

Okay guys, no more hints! We're officially down to the top five which are the singles! Which will be the first to fall? It's the most polarizing song of the rankdown!
Recap: 12. You Got The Wrong Man (160) 11. That's Just Me (155) 10. Renegade (154) 9. When She Wakes Up (And Finds Me Gone) (138) 8. The Great Divide (136) 7. I Didn't Ask and She Didn't Say (109) 6. Don't Mention Memphis (107)
The top 5: All I Want Is A Life She Never Let's It Go To Her Heart Can't Be Really Gone Maybe We Should Just Sleep On It I Like It, I Love It

Bloody hell, really? First, this should have been a single. This song is magnificent, good that it's top of all the album tracks, but deserved at least top 5. Since I revisited this album for this RD, I've been listening to this almost once a day for a week or so.

5. Can't Be Really Gone
Oh yes, it can be really gone. By far the most polarizing song of the rankdown had four number ones but even a last place. A lot of the #1's came in early, making me think it could even be an underdog #1 contender. I've used this word a lot this evening, but this is another beautiful song. If I could change one thing, I think this song would be more fitting as a death/loss song. When I was younger, I thought it was. I mean, the half read book, all the items he mentions her leaving, feels more like when someone suddenly dies. (I have the opposite problem with Cole Swindell's You Should Be Here. Great song but then there's the one line about the person being dead. I think left for military or just moved states would've worked better for that than to make it a death song.)

Lol good! "Don't Mention Memphis" had no business being in the top 5 here, and luckily, it wasn't! Tim is singing WAY too high in the chorus lol. Another song I don't think is a good fit for his voice. I'm happy that those who love it, were able to see it get this far. But I'm glad it didn't make it any farther.
"Can't Really Be Gone" is also pretty blah to me. It's fine I guess, but top 5 is a stretch IMO but at least those who love it got to see it do well!
In a perfect world, "I Like It, I Love It" would be out next, but I'm sure that song is winning. I don't dislike it at all- it's in my top 5 too - it's just the other singles are WAY better in my opinion. The other singles remaining are some of my all-time favorite Tim McGraw songs, they are flawless, and are most worthy of the top 4.
