This new Twenty One Pilots song sounds like the current disco trend so it should be able to make an impact.

TOP getting a #1 hit would be amazing, they were robbed twice in 2016. It's been a long time coming.

Why does Selena always release on a Thursday? Maybe to take advantage of the lull before the Friday releases?

Oh TOP are back? they scored big on Alternative with the Trench era but nada on Pop after Heathens. "My Blood" & "Chlorine" both peaked in the high thirties but had ridiculous longevity. I remember saying chlorine was done in mid-May, and then it lasted another two months and reached a new peak. "The Hype" bombed, though

But didn't even hit top 30, too bad. The Hype flopped hard and that was my fave single from that era.

Henry Suárez I was so surprised that "The Hype" flopped! I thought it was the most catchy thing they did that era, I expected it to do something
EDIT: Someone on the tøp said "level of concern" has an hourly deal on iheart stations!?

Is Toosie Slide the millennial Hokey Pokey? Gen Z, hun. Don't fall into the trap of thinking all youngsters are millennials. We are all adults between mid-20s and upper-30s now.

If Drake plays his cards right I don't think it's farfetched that he can tie Michael Jackson and Katy Perry's record for most #1 singles from one album. Scorpion came close to having four #1 hits until he blocked himself. Just a thought.

If the Pandora streams are being counted, then HITS is underestimating Toosie's audio streams.
Spotify: 16m Pandora: 10m+ = 26m I doubt he did less than 14m on Apple Music. He always does higher on Apple Music than Spotify since God's Plan, doubt he did less than 2m a day there.

Drake has been around for a while and is someone very familiar with adults. I said millennials for that reason. He's not that hip.

I think it's safe to assume that even if HITS failed to count it's Pandora streams, Billboard won't.

Would Millenial hokey pokey (or realistically Millenial The Twist) be the Macarena?

Would Millenial hokey pokey (or realistically Millenial The Twist) be the Macarena? Nah that's Gen X — the youngest millennials weren't even born when that came out. the oldest millennials would've only been 12 when it came out — hardly the drivers of pop culture

Would Millenial hokey pokey (or realistically Millenial The Twist) be the Macarena? Nah I think it’d be more like Crank That or one of the other ringtone rap dance songs of the time. Even Teach Me How To Dougie And Watch Me Whip.

He's not that hip. What? 💀 Not only is that sentence just flat out wrong, but that's also not how that works. Teens and young adults are the ones that drive the music industry more than any other age group. The vast majority of millenials aren't even in that group anymore.

Even Teach Me How To Dougie And Watch Me Whip. I would say Watch Me Whip can work for both age groups. About half of millennials would have still been in the main group for driving the music industry during its time. Crank That was the one that was nearly entirely millennials driving it's success along with Teach Me How to Dougie at about 75%. But really, none of them are the "millennial hokey pokey" since the Hokey Pokey instructs the dance moves for you within the song. So in that sense, the "millennial hokey pokey" would actually be the Cupid Shuffle or Cha Cha Slide.

So, at risk of derailing this further, it’d be like:
Silent Generation - The Twist Boomers - Idk (The Hustle?) Gen X - Macarena Millennials - Crank That

Those HDD streaming numbers are mysteriously low for several songs that did very well on AM position-wise. Biggest Rod Wave track #20?

There's no way Toosie Slide pulled just 40M on-demand streams. Also, I thought HDD released their numbers on Friday after Spotify dropped their figures for Thursday? Those numbers haven't dropped yet. 14-16M streams from Spotify is correct, but there's no way Drake pulled anything less than 28-30M streams from Apple Music. Then there's Pandora and other streaming services. Billboard should have the correct figures.
