Yeah true but for example Eminem did better numbers than 5.5 mill. Btw are two different fanbases Eminem is also pretty ww but also streaming is way down just from a couple weeks ago so nothing is super fair to compare it to True. Stan always stream on youtube. Drake fan on streaming service |

Outside of Hotline Bling and God's Plan Drake has never done huge numbers on YouTube, videos for songs like In My Feelings, Nice for What and Look Alive are all well below 500 million views. A little under 6 million views in a day, especially during a global crisis isn't too surprising.

If under 3 mill itβs a mid flop What are the figures for the #1 song on Spotify right now? Just over 1.4M? But Drake doing anything under 3M would be a mid flop? You do know that streaming is down for every artist, right? Drake included. I'm sure he's completely dominating on Apple Music, but I'm curious to see his first day numbers on Spotify. I'm hoping to be surprised. Ahm...I wouldn't call flop, but underperformance yes. |

Drake's song is a bit lazy, but mostly harmless...which is what makes severe overreaction to it extraordinarily funny. Going by Drake haters reaction, you would think he just released his own Circles or something really unlistenable like that.  |

Globally Blinding Lights will be too strong for Toosie but it's #1 in the US Spotify with 2.25M
If its AM/Spotify ratio is like 70/30, that's impressive on AM. That's like 7-8M streams overall on day 1.

Gods Plan grew over the first few days. With the reception this has gotten, I doubt that happens.
I expect a number 4 debut and then it hangs around the top 20 for a while, maybe reenters the top 10 when an album drops.

Combining both versions (if that's indeed the error Spotify made) would put it's numbers at 6,240,798 WW and 2,670,968 US. |

This was a busier Friday than I was expecting. Adding both versions of Toosie Slide (I am so confused as to why Spotify didn't just combine the two), Drake debuts with 2,670,968 streams. A debut at number one might indeed be coming. Ugh.
On slighter more positive news, I'm surprised but glad to see Frank Ocean notch high streams with his two loose singles. Also, DaBaby continuing his momentum from yesterday, might be interesting to see how much longevity he gets with this song. And Madison Beer might finally escape being a C-tier pop act and finally get an actual hit after being around for 7-8 years (she's only 21 btw)
