I'm probably one of the bigger Sam Hunt fans on Pulse, so take this with a grain of salt....but this album is straight fire.
2016, Young Once, Breaking Up Was Easy in the 90s are hits waiting to happen.

I’m really liking it so far. My favorites are “Hard To Forget”, “Let It Down”, “2016” and “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90’s”. I have always liked “Body Like A Backroad” as well.
Not sure how I feel about “That Ain’t Beautiful”. I guess that “Drinkin’ Too Much” and “Downtowns Dead” are the only weaker links.

I guess I'll be in the minority, but I thought this album was pretty bad. Not even close to the quality of Montevallo. None of the new tracks really stuck out besides "Breaking Up Was Easy in the 90s". I always thought he was a pretty good writer, but a lot of this album left a lot to be desired. Just super disappointed.

Completely in agreement here! And then maybe "Let It Down" too. I liked the album overall on first listen, I'm slightly bummed that 3 out of the 12 songs were from over a year ago ("Drinkin' Too Much" is from January 2017 lol) but it's definitely good to see Sam back with another album after the long wait we had after Montevallo. Montevallo's a better album than this one though - I don't see myself returning to a couple of tracks on Southside whereas Montevallo I probably came back to every single track.

Breaking Up Was Easy in the 90s is the clear favorite for me, and I enjoyed the album a lot!

I pre-ordered this months ago, but got a notification that it should arrive some time next week. Looking forward to listening to it then!

Guess I’m in the minority too. I can’t believe after almost 6 years he returns with almost the same materials his debut. He talked a lot about being influenced by traditional country but I don’t see it in his work. I wish him all the best though.

I think this album is fascinating. A lot of the tracks on their own are enjoyable ,with the MAJOR exception of That Ain't Beautiful which is the garbage fire that taints the light that the rest of the album is seen in. It blurs into a mess of narcissistic toxicity so quickly. There's an aggressive sense of entitlement that shows up on that song and then on subsequent listen can't help but rear it's head and become apparent in all the other tracks too.
All this said Breaking up in the 90s is a jam lol

Yeah, "That Ain't Beautiful" left a really bad taste in my mouth. That is by far the worst song he's ever done.

My copy arrived yesterday, and I like the album after two listens, though nowhere near as much as Montevallo. I'm sure it'll grow on me a lot over time, but Montevallo is one of my favourite albums, so it was a lot to live up to for me.
So far, early on, I'm loving "Hard To Forget" and "Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90's" the most (outside of "Body Like A Back Road"). And I might be in the minority, but I'm really glad that BLABR was included on this. I'm kind of a completionist, so I really like that I can own that one on an album and compartmentalize it, haha.
The only song I don't really care for is "That Ain't Beautiful".

Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90’s is the best non single song on the album.

WARNING: I AM THE VERY MUCH PART OF THE MINORITY. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
Well there's 40 minutes of my life I'm not getting back. I finally gave this album a more thorough spin (meaning I focused on the lyrics) and found literally one song (and it's the only country song on the record if you ask me, and I'm not even an absolutist--that's neither here nor there tho) to salvage out of this mess. This is the best he's got after literally almost an entire decade?
"2016" is the only song I liked even 50%. That's the only one I see myself ever revisiting and it's the only one that wouldn't make me change the station tbh. "Young Once" is so repetitive: We were young once, (insert phrase) once, (insert a new phrase) once over and over. "Hard To Forget" wasn't particularly terrible but I still won't be revisiting it. I've absolutely hated "Body Like A Back Road" from the very second it came out, and I've never really liked "Kinfolks" too much either. I'm just gonna pretend I didn't hear "That Ain't Beautiful." F**k that sense of narcissism and entitlement. By the time it got to "Nothing Lasts Forever," I was tuned out by the lyrical content.
And don't even get me started on his vocals. What is this talking through the verses? I'll never get used to it.
Overall, this was a terrible album in my opinion, and I'm very disappointed that this is what he had to give after 6 entire years. 2/10 imo

Has anyone found the actual CD of this, Ashley McBryde or Maddie & Tae's albums? The city I live in only has a Walmart in it and they sure aren't stocking anything new. The nearest Targets are an hour away and we're on lockdown here like everyone.

Neither Walmart or Target here have anything new since Kelsea Ballerini, and I've only seen it at a few stores.

After letting this album sink in, I love it. My favourite is actually “That Ain’t Beautiful” 🙊
Really enjoy each song with the exception of “Let It Down”, which really just doesn’t do much for me.

Remix of Breland's My Truck is out. The swag Sam Hunt offers is excellent. And he raps very good
