12. I love New York (11): I only have 3 songs I don’t care for in this album. This takes turn with another song as my least favorite from this album. Sometimes this wins due to my liking the production a bit more, like for this RD, but this and my #12 are pretty close as bottom 2.
11. Push (8): I’ve always liked the production here. The percussion sounds, the vocal effects (inc male background), the catchy chorus are captivating. The verses are the weak part, but I don’t find them weaker than couple other songs. At the time thought this could’ve been a better US single than Get together, as it had more of a pop & b vibe than any other track.

#8 IsaacThis song is about overcoming obstacles. Prior to the song's content actually being known, a group of Israeli rabbis claimed that Madonna was committing a blasphemy with their religion, claiming the song was about 16th century Kabbalah scholar Yitzhak Luria. The song was named after the featured vocalist Yitzhak Sinwani, who sang backing vocals and other portions on it. Much of his parts were based on the Yemenite Hebrew poem "Im Nin'alu" ( made famous by the late great Ofra Haza). Initially Madonna toyed with the idea of calling the song as "Fear of Flying" since the idea behind the composition was to let go. However, at the end she decided to just call it "Isaac" after the English version of Sinwani's name. There was one well known bootleg remix by Offer Nissim, who would go on to remix for Madonna officially from the MDNA album onward. Offer used portions of the album version coupled with some samples of Ofra Haza's recording of "Im Nin'Alu" in addition to the production him and Yinon Yahel did. Offer would base the production of his "Ghosttown" remix on this particular remix. Though the remix does not use all of the vocals and is more of a dub than a full vocal mix, it still works well. #NoRegrets about my #1.
When a non-single is my favorite, I just hope my ranking will lift it above a lower position

Now with every reveal it's starting to hurt.
"Let It Will Be" is a BOP. I love the strings at the beginning, which provides a smooth transition from "I Love New York". When the beat kicks in at 1:50, it gives my ear a kind of climax.
"How High" is basically the prototype of Lady Gaga's debut album.

“How High” has randomly grown on me and is one of my most listened album cuts nowadays. Fantastic.
Rooting for “Forbidden Love” to make the top five!

#1 Hung UpThis was the lead single. It prominently features a sample from the instrumental of ABBA's "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", for which Madonna personally sought permission from its songwriters, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. It was Madonna's 36th top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100, tying her with Elvis Presley as the artist with most top ten hits. It also became the most successful dance song of the decade in the United States. "Hung Up" remains one of the best-selling singles of all time, with sales of over nine million copies worldwide. The music video is a tribute to John Travolta and his movies, and to dancing in general. Directed by Johan Renck, the clip starts with Madonna clad in a pink leotard dancing alone in a ballet studio and concludes at a gaming parlor where she dances with her backup troupe. Interspersed are scenes of people displaying their dancing skills in a variety of settings, including a Los Angeles residential neighborhood, a small restaurant and the London Underground. Madonna has performed the song in a number of live appearances, including as the final number of 2006's Confessions Tour, a heavy metal-inspired arrangement in the 2008 leg of the Sticky & Sweet Tour, and 2012's The MDNA Tour, where the singer performed the song while slacklining. In order to gain the rights to sample "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!", Madonna had to send her emissary to Stockholm with a letter which begged them to allow her to sample the song and also telling how much she loved their music. To the BBC she explained: "[T]hey never let anyone sample their music. Thank God they didn't say no. [...] They had to think about it, Benny and Björn. They didn't say yes straight away." The pair agreed to let Madonna use the sample only after making a copyright agreement that entitled them to a significant share of the royalties from subsequent sales and airplay. Andersson, in an interview with The Daily Telegraph in October 2005, declared "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" to be the essence of "Hung Up" while joking that it was his favourite Madonna song thus far. He further said: "We get so many requests from people wanting to use our tracks but we normally say 'no'. This is only the second time we have given permission. We said 'yes' this time because we admire Madonna so much and always have done. She has got guts and has been around for 21 years. That is not bad going." The song premiered in September 2005, during a television advertisement for Motorola's ROKR mobile phone. The advertisement featured Madonna and other artists jammed in a phone booth. On October 17, 2005, the song made its premiere during a live ten-minute radio interview between Ryan Seacrest and Madonna. It was also made available as a master ringtone with various mobile service providers. "Hung Up" was sent to mainstream radio in the United States on October 18. It had remixes by Bill Hamel, Chus & Ceballos, Stuart Price, and Tracy Young. L.E.X. were also commissioned to remix this and their uptempo mix was released promotionally but never commercially. They did a Reggaeton mix which ultimately saw no release. With this last reveal, this rankdown is complete. I want to thank everyone who took the time to listen to the album and sent a list. As I mentioned earlier in the week, I had an important announcement to make about the future of the Madonna album rankdown series. I will be taking a break from hosting rankdowns of any kind for a while. I don't know when I shall get back to doing them.
