Love Brett's voice so lets hope this is good. Last album was kind of a let down.

Yessssss granted I'm one of the only fans of Brett Eldredge on Pulse lol
The two co-creators of Golden Hour part does pique my interest - let's just hope it's not a mess like "Somethin' I'm Good At" was.

Count me in for those who think he peaked with his debut single, “Raymond,” which was phenomenal.
At least “Somethin’ I’m Good At” was interesting — it was all over the place but I couldn’t help but feel invested lol. Most everything else he’s put out has bored me to tears.

We’ve never seen a mainstream artist go off the grid like Brett has in a while. He went from being a social media craze to using a flip phone for over a year.
I have a feeling we’re about to see a change in his style and potentially a different person. Feel like he went through a lot over these past few years.

So glad to have Brett Eldredge back releasing new music, his voice continues for me to sound great and I actually liked the production here too.
Also full on expect this to have an iHeartMedia debut today (Friday).

Wow all three songs that came out are relatively sparse in production - "Gabrielle" definitely feels like the right one to push. I really like the guitar riffs in the chorus - very catchy. My favorite lead single since "Raymond" for sure. Album is called Sunday Drive and according to The Boot, the piano will be common throughout the record. theboot.com/brett-eldredge-gabrielle-lyrics/

Oh wow, I really like “Gabrielle”! The production really makes the song; the piano and guitar riffs give off a cool ‘70s vibe that I would love to hear more of.
Edit: And you can really hear the similarities to “Golden Hour”.

Beautiful song, but still upbeat even with just the piano chords and sparse guitar throughout. Actually really dig the lyrics too; having gone through a recent breakup of a long distance relationship. What we had was amazing but it truly wasn’t the “right time” for either of us. Much better than “Something I’m good At”. Welcome back Brett!

“Gabrielle” is very good, I like this sound a lot and it appears the time off did him really well.
“Crowd My Mind” though....that’s the type of vocal I’ve been wanting from Brett for years. Fantastic song

Ok, I might be totally crazy, but does the chorus in Gabriella feel like it’s a half step to high for Brett to anyone else? Or maybe it’s because it feels like he’s running out of air? Or I could just be hearing things and crazy.
The vocal in crowd my mind is great though

This is a fantastic choice from Brett. Suits him well. And, no, the chorus doesn’t sound “too high” for his voice.

this is outstanding! I also listened to the other tracks off the album he has released today and I would say the production is "artistic". Brett finally gets a chance to shine at his best. So excited for this!

His traditional pop influence (particularly Frank Sinatra) starts showing up. Even though this has little sound of country music, I am glad he may find his unique sound in this album era unlike most of his peers.

I like "Gabrielle" well enough ... but there's just something about the way he sings "wish you well Gabrielle" that just doesn't quite fit with the rest of the song.

I agree with the positive vibes in this thread. This is pretty good stuff. To me, it does sound like an album track, not a lead single. So it will be really interesting to see what happens.
I applaud him for doing something creative/different in a time his momentum isn’t really sky high. Sure, his songs charted alright but they took a year to peak and the impact was minimal.
A risk like this might really pay off commercially but either way it should generate some awareness of his talents that would be missed/wasted on the lesser material he has released to radio.

After listening these three songs it seems the "time off" was what he really needed it.I liked how the songs are refreshing and I think this is gonna be the most vulnerable and honest album from him.
I think "Gabrielle" was the right choice for a single among them although I dont see it as a hit but it´s a lovely song to listen on the radio.
"Where The Heart is" is my favorite and I loved the lyrics."Crowd My Mind" is the type of the song that I´ve always liked to see him singing.
Although we have only 3 songs out but as a fan I'm happy that he might have found the way back to show us his voice and talent.

I admittedly had reserved hopes for this when I heard it was going to be released but all three of these tracks are excellent and this is exactly the type of music he’s best suited for. His voice shines. I’m extremely excited for the rest of the album.

This right here is GOOD MUSIC!!! I mean, some of these lyrics...Empty streets and whistling pines/But not a day goes by you don't crowd my mind. Plus: So broke you could see thruogh me/Wouldn't know me if you knew me/Been eight months since November/But you're all I can remember. I mean damn.
My favorite is definitely "Crowd My Mind." What a song. It goes CMM > Gabrielle > Where the Heart Is for me.
This is going to be one hell of a record...and the Golden Hour realness was a treat!! Definitely looking forward to this album. It's due out on what would've been my aunt's 66th birthday so this feels like an album I'll probably need.

It was quick because it was played hourly on iHeartMedia stations yesterday. Tomorrow's update is probably a better indication of where country radio lies in regards to this song

Not sure how I feel about this one yet. I neither find it horrible like "Don't Ya," "Something I'm Good At," or "Drunk on Your Love," nor do I find it totally average and sleepy like "Mean to Me" or whatever his last two singles were (I forget their names and I'm too lazy to look them up rn but that says a lot tbh). So, going off that, this is already a step up from what he usually delivers for me. That said, I'm not exactly 'grabbed' by "Gabrielle" either. His voice is less shouty and grating here than on many of his radio hits at least, but there's still moments in the song where he turns me off vocally, and the production doesn't feel like it quite matches the song or something for me. It also... doesn't really sound like a hit to me. Like, I have a hard time picturing this as something in the kind of rotation needed for a #1 hit, and maybe not even top 10 or top 20. It'll be interesting to see how this does for him, especially given his lack of momentum coming off a pretty subpar-performing third album with a sizable break following it.

I'm a Brett fan but I'm not sure this song will do much for him. I like it, but it doesn't seem to be connecting yet. Even with the hourly iHeartRadio debut, it's sales are the weakest of the new songs released this week, around #50 iTunes all genre. I figured there'd be more excitement around Brett's new single after a long layoff.

This had a +33 update today which is most likely indicative that if this song does manage to get to the upper echelons of the chart it will take a long climb like it always has for Brett Eldredge.

Sounds like something that would have been a Hot AC/AC hit around 1999-2001.
