Re-re-re-remixes! 05/15: "I Dare You" (Eden Prince Remix) 05/29: "I Dare You" (Arkadi Remix) 06/12: "I Dare You" (Gozzi Remix) 06/26: "I Dare You" (Lash Remix) Where are these at ? ——————- Here's Why Kelly Clarkson Loves 'Since U Been Gone,' Despite Its Negative Backstory 4/20/2020 by Rania Aniftos Kelly Clarkson joined Brooke Reese via FaceTime on Apple Music on Monday (April 20) to discuss her multi-language single “I Dare You,” her top five tracks on Apple Music and more. "The whole idea came from my head, because I grew up singing different languages, and I always thought it would be really cool to be able to do a song in different languages, and I just had never had the perfect song," she said of "I Dare You," which dropped last week. "And this song was such a... It could be a cheesy message if not done right. So Jesse Shatkin produced it where it had tempo, and it had kind of a little edge to it to where it was kind of really cool. So I thought that was kind of a nice juxtaposition from the really sweet meaningful lyric, but it's also a dark lyric." "Then this whole thing happened around the world that was so globally connecting, that was kind of insane for this song to come out at this time," she continued. "So we just kept the release date." Kelly Clarkson Explains Why Her New Single 'I Dare You' Is 'Very Fitting' For These Times Clarkson and Reese also went through the pop star's top five songs on Apple Music, which included "Piece by Piece," "Love So Soft," "Because of You" and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)." On the No. 2 Hot 100 hit, 2004's "Since U Been Gone," Clarkson noted, "I love what the song does for people, I love that it was very different in demo form sent to me. Behind the scenes, it was not so fun to record because of situations I won't talk about, because I won't sell people out." "But I will say, my favorite memory, if I'm being more positive about it, was the fact that I got to show up to a video shoot and completely trash an apartment, and that was my job," she continued. "That video was possibly one of my favorite videos ever to make, because literally I just got to just have rage, and just break stuff all day long." "So although it has a lot of backstory for me personally, that's not my favorite. I do love that... I'm still able to be on stage though, and 'I can compartmentalize like the best of them,’ says every woman," she concluded. "But I can compartmentalize that emotion, and focus on the fun part of it, because it's fun, the audience loves the song, they connect to it. And whatever, it's fine, I would have rather... If I had to repeat it again, I would rather go through all that crap to get the end product of really connecting with a bunch of fans, and people that might not have been Kelly Clarkson fans before." Still #1 on iTunes but Blinding Lights is 0.038 points behind and getting green updates. Hoping this goes back to #1 after the performance on Friday.

Several days in and I'm liking it even more. I tend to play the Arab and Hebrew version more, and particularly love the "Love" part where she goes higher 3 times. I tend to play the Arab and Hebrew version a lot also. Maya Buskila has some powerful vocals.

Well, it looks like as long as there isn't a surprise release today/tonight by a major artist, she should be able to nab another #1 on Billboard's Digital Song Chart. She just gained every so slightly on The Weeknd in the last update on Kworb.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm almost positive it is either today or tomorrow!

Down to #2. The new Songland release (Sway by Luis Fonsi) is now #1.

Really good 20 minute interview from yesterday on Apple Music. Not sure how to link it but here’s a screenshot of someone knows how:

In that Reddit Q&A thing she's doing today someone asked about the new album. She said she's still working on it but the sound is like if Breakaway, AIEW and MOL had a baby. I'm perched!

All I Ever Wanted was basically Breakaway on steroids. Wasn't expecting her to return to that sound in 2020, but throw in a dash of Meaning of Life and I'm here for it.

Not to be a broken record, I have not trusted her song and album descriptions in years now since most have not been accurate, IMO. I am still shocked at how well this song is doing on the sales charts as it probably will get back up to #2 by tomorrow as the current #1 Songland tune is falling. Depending on what new songs are released this Friday and the viewership of her Friday performance, it could remain in the top 3 for some time and even perhaps retake the pole position. As it seems to be performing well early on HOT AC, I am perplexed that her label is not pushing it hard on CHR/POP since the general public has responded so favourably. Thoughts ?

I just don’t think they feel it is worth the push on CHR and it was probably never planned. They also know that releasing a song to CHR requires a big push to even hope for a result and maybe decided to just let it be. I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t go to HAC though.
Alicia Keys has a song she wrote specifically for the pandemic coming out Friday I think with a huge special on one of the nightly news broadcasts. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see that sell big. It seems a little corny to write and release a song but I am going to assume profits will be going to charity.

I'd kill for a more raw, bluesy, soulful singer/songwriter album written/cowritten entirely by her during this time she feels so inspired and her voice is in such amazing shape. I genuinely don't think a big hit is in the cards for her anymore and so I'm sort of...over her trying?
I think her next hit will be something closer to "Piece by Piece" due to a similarly viral moment, or--similarly--a really big, but well-crafted ballad that's attached to a big movie or something that does really well and she can have that media victory lap. But like a banger that rockets its way up CHR? Nah. "Love So Soft" deserved and 😐

Also sitting here realizing that Breakaway + AIEW + MOL = Stronger, which she hasn't realized, but which I am perched for since Stronger is her best album, don't @ me.

Interesting. Doesn't she hate All I Ever Wanted? I don't think she hates the whole album, just certain experiences with it, such as having to cave to Clive Davis, working with Dr. Luke on MLWSWY, the Halo/Already Gone fiasco, etc. I think she's mostly fond of the material itself to an extent.

She just mixed up albums as usual. Last time she said it's Breakaway's, MOL's and STRONGER's baby. So she might be refering to AIEW's dance or Stronger's electronic elements. Time will tell. I totally agree with dbhmr. I believe that m MOL and WIR showcased her vocal versatility best, but it's blues/singer-songwriter stuff that really captures the magic in her voice.

MOL was definitely R&B leaning, and while I enjoyed it, I’m so ready for Rock Kelly to make a comeback. Give me more DLMSY, give me Let Me Down, give me AIEW, give me Never Again.
She is most known for her rock-leaning music, and I think she needs a return to form.

Kelly described MOL pretty well, I remember being surprised lol. But TBH the baby of previous albums description feels like we're going to get another 'I just love different sounds' album - pop-rock mixed in with some dance/electronic production mixed in with a couple of personal ballads mixed in with some soulful material that probably has no chance of being a single but it will at least let her feed that aspect of her oeuvre.
I still think MOL is a top 3 album for her idc idc. I do concur with the wanting more singer-songwriter material from her. Well really what I want is a front-to-back concept album built around one theme, whether that be an even deeper 'soul' album or a critic-friendly bluegrass album or something unabashedly pop-baity.

Holy head voice. What note was that? Didn’t sound too far off from whistle register.
