The latest from recent iHeartRadio On The Verge alum Caylee Hammack. The women of country are really knocking it out of the park this year, huh?

This is one of the best country songs I’ve heard in a good while. Really shook me to my core.

I have been addicted to this for the last week. The lyric, "I made myself into someone else just to love you, damn I loved you." Just so so so good and so real.

Fingers crossed this can somehow be a hit. Caylee Hammack does not have a ton of radio momentum but I am hopeful this can be a hit

This song is fire. I’m interested to see what they do with all the shits lol This song was on Women of iHeartCountry a few weeks back and for the word shit they just blurred it out as the song went "ain't that some...... *cue next verse" What is interesting at least on YouTube is that this song judging by the likes to dislikes ratio is much less polarizing than "Family Tree".

*knocks on wood* Country radio seems to be treating its female artists much better lately, so I am actually pretty optimistic about this. This needs to be heard.

Wow this is phenomenal, hope radio give this a chance. Where are all the views and hype for her songs from, never heard of her before this, was she on a talent show?

I like this a lot. I've actually really liked both of her singles, so far. I'm cautiously optimistic about the direction of country radio right now, with a female artists being able to make the top 40 at the same time lately. Hopefully this song continues the trend for her.

Well her previous single "Family Tree" managed to peak in the Top 30 on Mediabase and Top 35 on Billboard due to OTV and she has had some decent exposure within the last year touring wise, but she has not been on any talent shows as far as I remember.

This song is so good!! I am happy to see it released and her voice on it is a lot more enjoyable than that debut single, which I thought was horrible.
I will be rooting for radio to surprise me with this one.

omgomgomgomg!!! This is amazing news! Wow! From the first time I heard this song upon release, I was absolutely mesmerized by how good it is. This is hands down my favorite new song of 2020 thus far, and I'm just ecstatic that they're going to try this one at radio. I'm really nervous that it might not turn into a hit, but ugh, it's just too good not to. Please let this be a smash!

I really like this one! I wasn't too crazy over "Family Tree", but this one is really good. Hopefully radio picks up on it.

I love love this song, but I can see it being a bit too depressing for radio right now. The second verse has some of my absolute favourite lyrics of any song released recently, but I can see this being polarizing for most people as well.

Absolutely stunning from start to finish; definitely looking forward to hearing this masterpiece on the radio well into fall.
Take equal parts of Lee Ann Womack, Brandy Clark and Sunny Sweeney and this astonishing gem is what you're very likely to get.

Officially at country radio.
Radio edit replaces "sh*t" with "somethin'."

I really like this, but I need a bit of help to understand it.
In the first verse, she's wearing a leather jacket with a cigarette, rebellious, acting like she doesn't want to fit in, even though she's desperate to. She meets a boy who's the same.
Second verse, she turns down a scholarship to a university presumably far away as she wants to stay with her the same boyfriend. She basically puts her life on hold - though the "phantom pains for wings I've lost" suggests she would like to fulfill her potential in some way and may even be regretting her decision to leave - and hints to her boyfriend that she wants to marry him. This goes on for seven years.
In the chorus, she thought they'd be "running this town" - meaning, to make something of themselves - but he's "running around" i.e. cheating on her, while she's living an unadventurous, suburban life. She knows she should have left when she had the chance, but it's too late now and she can't summon the courage to do it anyway.
He says he needs safe, but during this trial separation, as he keeps her hanging, he meets and moves in with somebody new (a mother, no less).
Now she complains about the opportunities she missed - but, ironically, she had the power to take them all along, but simply chose not to. Hence, she's a hypocrite.
Am I right?

Did the label push the ad date back as this isn't even in the Top 10 most added and I would like to believe this song could have at least gotten 10 adds?

Officially at country radio. Radio edit replaces "sh*t" with "somethin'."
It also replaces bitch (and now I bitch about line towards the end) with cuss and damn with baby on the line "damn it I bought it", which bothers me because damn it I bought it has a unique cadence, I quite like the way it's sung and the rhyme is lost. But here we are, for every moralist PD who are fine with all the sex innuendo on every male artist song since 2013 but god forbid we hear the word damn or shit

Frustrates me that for "Red Solo Cup" one station played the original, one plays it editing it as vegetables, and the other edited in a dead space.
