Given the results so far, I definitely would not have endeared myself to most of the participants, had I worked on this and submitted. To clarify, three of the songs still in are songs that I ranked lower than "Angel" in the '88 Hot 100 RD. They were also pretty decently lower.
(I'm not shocked that two of them are still in.)

And finally here's a song from AC/DC's 11th studio album. Although this extra wasn't a big hit on the rock charts it did make the top 5 in Norway and Sweden. EXTRA
Heatseeker AC/DC
Year-End Rank: 115 | Peak: #20 | Weeks: 12 Album: Blow Up Your Video

40. The Real Life - John MellencampThat explosive "Cherry Bomb" style worked very well for John. Old style Accordion sounded great on John's songs. 39. Angel - AerosmithI knew the hair/Glam haters would be my biggest opposition when it came to these songs. Thankfully these cruised over to Pop and gained some classic status among the world. Anyway the rest of the story plays its self out. Rock songs + "angel" = Stellar. A little Steven Tyler vocal epicness doesn't hurt either. 38. The Valley Road - Bruce Hornsby & the Rangewell it certainly looks like singingrulebritannia and I didn't have the same bottom three, but at least one of my tank 3 is finally out. I don't get the appeal for this band. They never heard of drum intros or drum combinations. That in fact makes the song boring for me. I can forgive that in Dance music , but not in rock, because it makes the percussion sound programmed. can the other one follow soon...please 37. Common Ground - Rhythm CorpsThis song is pretty cool. I don't recall caring for it back then, but somehow after all these years its finally starting to sound pretty good. 85 percent of that is the lead singers vocals. I love the way he delivers the chorus. 36. Tall Cool One - Robert PlantThis one I remember well. NRGetic as Robert can be. Years later I recall a drop dead dancer strutting her stuff to this one on Stage. This song is one perfect Muscle car driving vibe. Works on Motorbikes as well. 35. Look Out Any Window - Bruce Hornsby & the Range...and this would be payback for White Lion, Great White, Aerosmith and Diamond Dave.This is pretty much the same song with a fiercer percussion combination 34. (Nothing But) Flowers - Talking HeadsI enjoy this song quite a bit, just feels way out of its league on this rank down. 33. Don't You Know What the Night Can Do? - Steve WinwoodOne of the few Steve Winwood songs I never cared for. At least his third entry is still rolling. 32. On the Turning Away - Pink Floyd This band after 1981 did nothing for me. Call me back if we ever get to rank songs from "The Wall".31. No Smoke Without a Fire - Bad CompanyNow this is that kind heavy Blues Rock I can sink my teeth into. Chorus has a little early Def Leppard thing going on. and now for a special announcement
I have two songs left in my tank misfits, but I also realized I ranked the wrong song by a certain band. My #100 is gonna strike everyone as a WTF. It's not a song I would put in my top 50, and would have actually landed in the high 60's, but I wouldn't have tanked it either. I'm not sure how that happened since I usually cut and paste, when I preview songs, but it did. Sorry. S H I T Happens.

Extras;
Presence of Love - The Alarm The Alarm is a fascinating Modern Rock band that I've been into since "The Stand". This song has the same Strength as their other singles ,and would have found a comfortable slot in my top half of the RD.
Two Wrongs - Joe Cocker Joe's Music itself wasn't bad at all, but his vocals, and "is he drunk" delivery struck me as painful. I mean so rough I actually thought his throat was in pain as he sung.
Lock and Key - Rush Rush works just fine for me as long as they don't get toooo proggy. I don't recall the previous singles for this album era, but if they are this strong then I'll most likely give therm top 50 action.
Neil Young - This Note's For You take what I said about Neil back. He actually sound pretty good so long as he stays away from that grungy vibe. The only thing I don't like is that he seems to make fun of artists I enjoy ,and I'm pretty sure he wasn't on the hair/Glam train either so this note is not for me.
Dynamite - Rod Stewart A little more of that explosive vibe for Rod, but I like that. Reminds me of his "Hot Legs" days.
Astronomy - Blue Öyster Cult This is no "Burning For You" that's for sure. Its kinda just there. More Alan Parson's than Blue Oyster Cult, but I guess they had some of those Proggy wonders as well. Idk, I'm not too familiar with them outside of of "The Reaper" and "Burning For You". Also I always wondered if Niki Sixx got this Ö from BOC.
Give Me All Your Love - Whitesnake Another one with a free ride into the top half of my RD. How high I don't know. This one gores hard. I might surprise fans and go top 20 with this one.
Heatseeker - AC/DC AC/DC didn't do much for me with this album era. For once the chorus falls flat,and they seem to be going for a faster Powerpop sound here. Epic fail. For once I was on board with mainstream's decision to pass on this era. This song never made it to my weekly top 40.
