I like this well enough ... but was REALLY pulling for "Half Hoping".

Not in a position to listen right now but not the same as Eli Young Band's song of the same name (that I love)?

Man, I wish City Girl, Half Hoping or Michigan for the Winter.....
This does sound like a possible hit though. I enjoyed it

This is infinitely better than the awful "To a T" and that one limped nearly into the top 20 after a marathon chart climb, so I'm optimistic this one can actually turn into a solid hit for him.

This is so good! "City Girl" will probably always be my favorite from him (and I'll always be pressed that it was never a single) but this is the second best thing I've heard from him thus far.

This is radio friendly but I don’t hear a smash. To me this sounds faceless and will likely get lost in the shuffle.
I’m starting to think he’s not meant for solo stardom.

I feel like ever since Church released Springsteen there’s been sooo many attempts to recreate that. This is one of them. Not saying it’s a bad thing cause the subject is ideal for a song.

I definitely agree with this. I actually like this one a fair bit, but I can't help but think Eric Church already did it better. Still, I definitely won't mind it becoming a hit (which I think it will).

Ok but does he need to name-drop Springsteen and mention July 4th just like that song though? And doesn't Sam Hunt already have a single called Hard To Forget right now? This is just an inferior rearrangement of what we have already heard.

I guess he's giving me another country song for the summer this year. I really like this a lot. It doesn't reach the heights of "Love in a Bar", "City Girl", or "Her Name Was Summer" (missed hit) for me, but I do like this a lot more than "To a T". The minor success of that song has me intrigued he can build on it because I think this is a lot more accessible than that was. I’m starting to think he’s not meant for solo stardom. You take that back Jordan!

This is just an inferior rearrangement of what we have already heard. "Springsteen" mentions July. Not July 4th. Hundreds of songs mention months (and even July). Not sure what this gripe is about. Songs about remembering the past is as a popular topic in country music as almost anything. While I agree, "Springsteen" did it remarkably, this is a topic that has been around well before, "Springsteen," and will be around for much longer. "I Go Back," "Something Like That," "Marina Del Ray," "For A Little While," are just a few songs off the top of my head that are the same topic.

Artists have been writing and recording songs about how a certain song or thing transports them back in time to remember a certain period, event, memory, person, etc. forever. That is nothing new and was surely not invented by Eric Church.

I might be confused but he’s literally referencing both Springsteen and Church in this song, no?
“And I still feel the kick drum, front row at the concert after Talladega...”

Of course the idea is not original , but if the story is written in a similar way by name-dropping Springsteen to sound more unique, then the one written later would not sound so unique and would be "rearrangement of what we have heard". I mean the name-dropping can be easily replaced by "that song" too, so there must be some reason why it is not used. Just my two cents.

The more I listen to this, the more I like it. While I never hated "To A T", it was never one of my favorites. I think "Every Other Memory" is much more radio friendly.

This song makes one reference about Springsteen. The concert they sat in the front row, they don't mention who it was. I don't see how one reference makes it that similar. Bruce is an icon. Not saying he is as big as Elvis, but Elvis is named in countless songs throughout the years. And even in just country music, George Strait is name dropped in plenty of songs. So again, I say this is common. You're entitled to you two cents, of course - they just don't make sense to me.

While "Every Other Memory" is peripherally related to "Springsteen" by Eric Church because of a brief mention, my mind connects it more with "Somethin' Like That" by Tim McGraw and "Every Mile a Memory" by Dierks Bentley. This isn't my favorite from him; I really loved "To A T" and carry that song's Spotify streams on my back (LOL).

I absolutely love this superb tune and hope it becomes a much bigger single than 'To A T'.

Didn’t read any of the comments on here before listening to this, and my first thought was this is good but a blatant rip-off of Eric Church’s “Springsteen”. Have to assume he had much more original options.
