This song wouldn't be as good without Chromatica II.

Such a tune. Potential single after "Sour Candy" (assuming that's the next release)?

Although I still don't care for this song The lead in from Chromatic II to this is a stellar transition.

Getting a lot of "Government Hooker" teas from this one. One of her best songs EVER.

She performed this tonight at the MTV Video Awards. I hope it's the next single.

Siri says 911 when you ask "What is Lady Gaga's new single?"

This actually could smash coming from the high of Rain on Me, though I really want BlackPink to smash, so I kinda want Cum On Sour Candy. A video for both would kill.

Iβm the planetβs only βLove Me Rightβ stan, i think
That song really fits the wave of nostalgic 80s pop big at the moment, and itβs also fucking amazing. My favorite vocal performance on Chromatica. Iβm pissed that itβs a Target only bonus track. She let a gem slip through the cracks.

If this is really the next single, she should make the announcement or unveil something related to the track on 9/11.

If this is really the next single, she should make the announcement or unveil something related to the track on 9/11. Oh my god NO, that would be a terrible idea. Itβs been 20 years, but the US definitely isnβt over 9/11. It wouldnβt be a good look.

She should just stay away from controversial topics and film a fun video.

I'm pretty sure Juan Carlos was being sarcastic...
anyway, 911 is risky for radio because of the drug references. I could see some stations not wanting to play a song about how great it is to pop pills.

Plus, a handful of songs that have said that exact thing have gone on to become massive hits (Diamonds by Rihanna, We Canβt Stop by Miley, Rockstar by Post Malone, etc.)

I mean plenty of songs with drug references have gone on to be big hits. One of the biggest examples:

Listeners will hear "pop a 911 and then another one" and that's all that matters. They're not going to explain "actually, she's talking about the importance of taking antipsychotic medication as prescribed by a state licensed psychiatrist". Diamonds and We Cant Stop making passing references to "molly" that is easily edited out. I Took a Pill in Ibiza is arguably an anti-drug song, and still has radio edit that subbed in plane for pull. Rockstar's radio edit chorus cuts pill references out entirely and starts "I've been I've been I've been man I feel just like a rockstar". And the threshold for tolerating drug references in hip hop lyrics is much higher than pop songs by female artists.

Literally all 3 songs you brought up had radio edits to remove the pill references. The reach is you thinking 911 wouldn't need one.

Itβs funny how they are constantly editing out drug references when most of those offended people are probably taking said drugs so that is just not okay. Look at the opioid crisis in America, I mean come on.

IF this becomes single, I donβt see βRain On Me! helping this smash, I see a top 40/50 peak. Not being negative, just stating my opinion for CHR reception.

Katy Perry popped (pop) (pop) (pop) in Feels radio edit, compared to popped pills in the original.
