The Rolling Stones beating The 1975 is a little sad but I’m angry that The 1975 couldn’t even beat AJ f*cking R. I mean, at least the 1975 did well on Spotify and iTunes in the us for a few days. The only thing was it got ZERO radio play there. AJR are doing really well on radio for some reason, I’m pretty sure that’s the only thing keeping Bang! afloat. But I agree, The Rolling Stones beating them is fine, AJR is just embarrassing. Bang! also has decent streaming

statistic-wise, Boom Boom Pow was the bigger hit, but among kids in my generation, most of us listened to Day N Night religiously and is more memorable nowadays. What is your generation? Everyone 13 and up was listening to Boom Boom Pow (I was 13) and 8 year olds weren't listening to Day N Night lol but Memories feat Kid Cudi was so f**king good ugh <3 I agree we all loved Boom Boom Pow when it was at its prime, but as most of us got older, people I grew up with tend to revisit 2000s R&B hits such as Day N Night and resonate more with those sorts of songs. (I was 7 back in 2009 haha - (generation between 1999-2003ish)).

Literally only heard the remix in my life. The original feels so empty. i heard both versions on the radio ?¿

i heard both versions on the radio ?¿ I’m not saying they didn’t play both versions in the US, I just live in Europe and watched MTV UK all day. It’s just funny how 2 continents can have completely different perceptions of the same song. Similar to Habits, did the US even play the remix? (This isn’t really on topic though, I might start a thread later in YOP for songs with 2 completely different popular versions. Carry on!) ohhh my bad i somehow forgot it can be very different in other countries. That thread would be really interesting tho

Unless I missed this discussion, Why were Goosebumps and Highest In The Room allowed to re-enter?

Unless I missed this discussion, Why were Goosebumps and Highest In The Room allowed to re-enter? Older songs are allowed to re-enter if they have enough points to enter above #50, however I believe this doesn't rule doesn't apply to songs hit by the 52 week rule which is why Sicko Mode wasn't allowed back on.

That makes sense, I just didn’t know recurrent songs could come back without a special reason. I do remember now all the songs that came back to the top 50 after the Christmas songs left.

^Yeah, both songs had between 20 and 52 weeks in the Hot 100 charted so far. So all they needed was to be in the top 50. Because Sicko Mode had charted for 52 weeks, it would have needed to chart in the top 50. Keeping the latter in mind, they made an exception for Wake Me Up! when Avicii passed away and let it re-enter at #34 in its 54th week. So, in essence, such exceptions are up to the BB chart editors.

The special reason is the Fortnite concert. Highest in the Room was the instrumental opener and both songs got segments in the show proper. As to Christmas, that appears to be a new corrective measure to deal with the mass displacement the season brings.

gabe predicted Fortnite would get Travis Scott to #1 last year How the heck is Sicko mode #1 again and Old Town road not in the top 10? Travis released a Sicko Mode bundle (much like he did a few months ago), along with another Fortnite concert (like Happier) that propelled it back to #1. Old Town Road must not have done well enough on streaming (this tracking week doesn't count the remix), but I'm sure it will get there next week!

Radio Songs: 48 24 20 9 Stupid Love - Lady Gaga ( 18 ) Interscope
I'm a little surprised this didn't do better at radio. And a huge drop this week, guess they must be done with it.
