Y'all, I ran across a viral video of someone performing this track horribly and for the life of me, I "recognized" it, but couldn't at all place it. It's been in the back of my mind for hours, stewing, that woman's terrible voice repeating "heaven" over and over. Then it hit me. This went #1 on Hot AC. Does literally anyone remember it? I prefer it to "Fight Song."

"Fight Song" is at least remembered, though not always favourably. For me it brings back unpleasant memories of the 2016 presidential race.
For Rachel Platten, it might have cemented her image a bit too well. "Stand By You" was at least a modest pop hit (I remember it a little), but nothing in the six years since has been.

I was hoping it would be bigger than what it was following "Fight Song". I prefer it to "Fight Song" as well.

does anyone still listen to Old Town Road? I feel like that song wore itself out into oblivion

My first thought. I don't think I've seen a Summer smash fade so quickly and completely. Cheerleader was once in the Spotify top 10 most streamed songs, it just recently left the top 100.

Whoever said most of Janet's hits, you are wrong. Anyone who was alive and old enough to comprehend from 1986-2001 knows Janet's music and they remember Janet's music. Just because the newer generation doesn't talk about Janet much does not mean her music is forgotten.
I'm sure many people remember Miss You Much. Nasty, Control, If, Escapade, Black Cat, Love Will Never Do, That's The Way Love Goes, etc...
With a catalog like Janet's, your music simply can't be forgotten.
Also, let's not forgot those iconic music videos and outfits that inspire the girls today.

If anyone does not know any other Lil Nas X song by some small possibility, they would more than likely know Old Town Road.

I feel like One Sweet Day has to be one of the biggest. That shit has one of (if not the??) longest run at #1 on Hot 100 and no one remembers that song, it gets terrible call outs, and has nearly zero recurrent airplay. I don't get it

When Despacito reached 16 weeks, tying the record for longest stay at #1 with One Sweet Day, it was big news. It was even bigger news when Old Town Road broke the record by 3 weeks. (But yes outside of that record only MC and B2M stans really give a shit about it anymore, which is fascinating.)

I don't think even Mariah fans care much about "One Sweet Day" - I certainly don't. I think it's just too overwrought, so I can see why it doesn't do well in recurrents.

Yes, I do actually. My freshman year of high school. My art teacher always had the AC station on and it came on a lot!!! At least once everyday. Even till this day my local AC station still plays this song. I actually forgot about Fight Song. That song was and still is annoying. A lot of kids and pre-teens liked it at the time tho

"Heartbreaker" and "Loverboy" were discounted but not that low. Less than $0.50.

The lowest any of her singles were sold for was the 2-track "Loverboy" single (49 cents), and it was to compete with "Bootylicious" for #1 (Sony was selling that one for 49 cents too). She had a lot of singles sell for between $1-$2, but that wasn't unusual for 2-track singles.

Different people will have different takes on this due to their tastes, listening habits, what gets played on radio or elsewhere in their area, and other factors. But if I weren't a chart numbers buff then these are some of the songs would make me wonder, "was that really that big a hit?" All Or Nothing (blecch) The Reason Let Me Love You (Mario) Leavin' Down Just a Dream Without You (Guetta/Usher) Am I Wrong Locked Away (would this have been a hit in the first place without Adam?) 7 Years Cold Water All 2000s/10s CHR #1's that at least to me don't feel that big or well remembered in retrospect, if they even did at the time. How is “Let Me Love You” forgotten?

Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye and Kimbra was everywhere in 2012. Nowadays however, I never hear it.

I would definitely have to say Driver's License. Unfortunately, everything Olivia has put out since has really overshadowed this one.
Unpopular Opinion, but dl is Olivia's best song by far. It's one of my absolute all time favorite songs, so it's really unfortunate to see it getting overshadowed by other songs.

idk if it was massive but i remember alive by krewella feeling like one of the first big edm hits alongside clarity and feel so close just based off the amount i heard it on the radio. even if, as i later found out, it wasn't nearly as big as those two, i've literally NEVER heard it or even heard it mentioned in the wild post-2012 and i only remembered it existed fairly recently

G4u, Brutal, Deja Vu, Traitor, All I Want, Favorite Crime, and even 1sf3sb, are all more remembered and talked about than dl.

"Good 4 U" is now likely regarded as Olivia's signature song and may well continue to be that, but I don't think "Drivers License" is really forgotten. If anything has slipped through the cracks (after just one year) it's probably "Deja Vu", which was a hit at right about the same time as G4U and ultimately overshadowed by it.

Yes, all the songs highlighted minus Without You/Leavin are still rememeber today. But these songs felt like huge hits as they were constantly on the radio a lot. Let Me Love You, The Reason, and Down were practically inescapable. none of these are forgotten wtf London Bridge feels relatively forgotten for a 2006 song but I agree, the rest of those are pretty well remembered. I'd say these are better examples of r&b and hip hop songs that are kinda forgotten now Blame It Knock You DownDead and Gone Run It! Shake It Off (the Mariah one) Disco Inferno Don't Phunk With My Heart Grillz Money Maker Ridin' Kiss Kiss Clumsy Walk It Out (by Unk) Love In This ClubSexy Can I The Way You Move Goodies Burn Lean Back I Don't Wanna Know (by Mario Winans) Slow MotionOver and Over Lose My Breath Freek-A-Leek Slow JamzSunshine (by Lil Flip) Right ThurrShake Ya Tailfeather Stand Up All I Have Damn! (by YoungBloodz) Magic Stick Ain't It Funny U Don't Have To CallGangsta Lovin 03 Bonnie & Clyde Don't Mess With My Man Stutter Case of the ExIncomplete (by Sisqo) You Sang To Me Get It On Tonight I think there's also a fair bit of post-grunge and adult contemporary songs from those years that are mostly forgotten. The highlighted songs are still very well remembered today. No one has forgotten about these and they still get lots of recurrent airplay today.

I swear, it's like the mindset nowadays is "I don't hear about it as much as the other big singles, therefore, it doesn't exist anymore."
Harlem Shake is the deadest meme out there.

May I remind you that Drivers License debuted at #1? While it’s definitely not Olivia’s most remembered song, it’s still recognized by many people.
