Fuck this song, this song is so painfully boring, the melody is shit, the lyrics are cliche to hell and back, both vocalists sound checked out, and the song is overproduced, ending in both vocalists sound like they are screaming near the end. Literally the only moment of somewhat intrigue is Hillary Scott's second verse but even then she sounds checked out.
Lady A knows better and I'm glad this song was the worst performing song (still is if you don't count "What I'm Leaving For" as a legit single)

beyond disappointed to see "Sleepy Little Town" out so early. This song is one of my favorites from 2012 easily. Especially with the amount of trash from this year this belongs no where near here, never mind the fact that it should easily be in the top 50!
I do not regret my rank because I love this song so much, it was nice to revisit it for this!

I am just not a fan of JT Hodges voice, for me it sounds so vanilla and neither song stands out imo for that

JT Hodges was easy on the eyes , but Sleepy Little Town felt like such a clone of Famous in a Small Town, it was hard to get past that.

To me “Wanted You More” is a lot less boring than most of Lady A’s lite-pop fluff.

"Wanted You More" get my vote for the most boring Lady A single. It's not their worst though -- that distinction goes to "Freestyle."

Such a catchy song, one of Toby's best Show Dog singles. Glad that wound up being his final top 10, not "Red Solo Cup".

"I Ain't Your Mama" was released through RPM Entertainment and peaked at #27 on Mediabase in January of 2013. It was the lead single off her album, Cut to Impress.
Margaret Durante signed to R&J Records (formerly Stroudavarious) in 2010. After the label closed, she later signed with RPM Entertainment and changed her name to Maggie Rose. She charted three more times after "I Ain't Your Mama," including "Better" in 2013 and "Looking Back Now" in 2014.
This song borders on annoying and was a station-changer when it was out. "Better" and "Looking Back Now" were really good, though.

Joanna Smith first signed to Columbia Nashville and she released her debut single, "Gettin' Married" in 2010. Her second was "Georgia Mud" in 2011, then shifted to RCA in 2012. After a fourth single ("Girls are Crazy") failed to chart in 2013, she exited Sony Nashville. She changed her name to Jo Smith and independently released the single, "Old School Groove" in early 2017.
Fine song but I don't love it. Joanna Smith was one of those major label artists who just couldn't gain traction at radio. "Old School Groove" is really good though, that's probably my favorite of hers.

It was released off Broken Bow Records, four years after her debut single "15 Minutes of Shame" off Arista Nashville after her finalist finish on American Idol. "Airborne Ranger Infantry" peaked at #50 on Billboard in November. Cook wrote the song for her father who fought during the Vietnam War, where he wrote poems of his experience in the Army.
Songs about war can be tricky because there's a fine line between good and not so good, but this one is good because it takes a real life experience and takes the angle of a person who is reminiscing about serving in the military during a time of war. It's really about what a person goes through once they come back from war, rather than a patriotic song about the war itself, and that's what Kristy Lee Cook was doing with "Airborne Ranger Infantry", telling the story of how her dad felt.

"Beers Ago" got done really dirty. Toby is far from being a Pulse Fave, but there should be absolutely nothing polarizing about "Beers Ago". Sonically and melodically it is the definition of a jam. Yes Toby put out like five too many drinking songs in the 2010s, but this one is not exactly a drinking song as much as it is a clever country pun. If sung by somebody like Alan Jackson, this would have been an easy top 30 contender.

Kelleigh Bannen is on the shortlist of female country artists who never clicked with me. "Sorry on the Rocks" is a decent song, but it would've been better with another vocalist imo.
"Church Clothes" remains her best song and the only thing by her I use to this day. Exceptional song and 100% needs to be covered by an artist who can turn it into a hit because it DESERVES. Personally I've always envisioned Faith Hill doing it the most justice out of the females I can imagine on it, but she obviously wouldn't turn it into a hit, even if she ever went back to actually making music again (who knows at this point). Out of today's hitmakers, I could see it doing well for Maren Morris. Lauren Alaina would be the best choice imo, but her consistency with radio is iffy. She'd absolutely murder the song tho.

The song was a cross-format smash, debuting at #13 on Billboard Country Airplayand #19 on Mediabase on the country radio charts, along with a #1 placement on the Billboatd Hot 100 in just its second week charting, along with peaking at #2 on the pop radio chart. In mid-October, as the song wrapped up its run at country radio, Billboard changed its formula for Billboard Hot Country Songs to include sales, streams and airplay across all formats and Taylor reached #1 on the new HCS chart. It spent just 7 weeks charting on the Mediabase country chart after peaking at #16. Its debut at #13 on Billboard Airplay was (formerly HCS) was tied for the second-highest chart debut ("Feel Like a Rock Star").
The song was written by Taylor, Max Martin and Shellback.
On of those defining songs of the 2010s in any format and I can certainly see why its hated by many. Its not really country and the arrangement got old after a while, but as a pop song its catchy and unique, so it's not a song I hate.

This song just does not work for me at all, and I love Taylor Swift. The production is loud and in your face, the lyrics are pretty juvenile, and the melody is more annoying than catchy. Genuinely shocked it made it this far.

I absolutely adore 'WANEGBT' and think it might be my favorite lead single of hers. Agree, it really isn't much of a country song, but I absolutely love it for what it is, so I couldn't rank it any lower than #2!

"Kiss Me Now" is pretty solid, but otherwise I never got the appeal of Katie Armiger. I knew it would do fairly well here, but I just don't think "Better In A Black Dress" is a very good song.
